Hey guys! WOW, this is very interesting!! There are some pieces here I have never seen!! I'm going to follow this thread closely and participate when I can. I haven't read through all replies yet, but I just want to make a few comments...
First of all, thanks to everyone for participating, and
coach10619, I'm glad we didn't have the same thread, lol! That was also a very good idea too to get everyone involved! Any thread of this nature we have had in the past quickly become outdated because many members are no longer on the forum.
The whole "disconnection" with the subforum has bothered me for a while, but it's just something that's very hard to address because everyone is different, etc. Anyway, I can only hope that those who felt left out on the forum will see these threads and start participating again! Even for me, I always love to see the reveals that talk about the older items, especially those I haven't thought about in a while! It sometimes inspires me to put that particular bag into my immediate rotation for that week!
Lizmil, your post is great and welcomed! I have no idea for a direction this thread should go in...there is no right or wrong answer! I really wanted a starting point, and I'm hoping that maybe even other threads may eventually come out of this! It just depends on the interest involved and what direction it goes in. I don't want to come off as trying to "direct" this thread in any manner...it's for EVERYONE!

So go for it!! Oh, and rambling is something I ALWAYS do, lol, so your post was great...I don't notice any rambling!!
The second thing is,
Coach10169, I see a common interest already between us! I LOVE the Bleecker duffles!! That Bleecker line is one I ALWAYS mention when I give examples of lines from Coach that were "me" and bags with leather I LOVED!!! A while back, I did end up selling some of my duffles, but I still have quite a few. At one point I think I had all of them but pool and white. Anyway, I also like the bag in your avatar...I recently bought the textured metallic hobo in silver, and I also LOVE it!! Is it the great leather??
NO, but it fills my requirement of being "unique and edgy"...very "space age", lol, and I LOVE all the pockets. It's very comfortable to carry. So I definitely love some of the old and some of the new!! I just hope the metallic doesn't wear off.
I'm quite certain I overlap with a lot of you, so I'm interested in seeing more goodies from the recent past and older past!!
The other thing I wanted to say is DON'T GIVE UP on finding some of the oldies but goodies at outlets!! It always amazes me what people are willing to return months (years) later.

Not that it's not Coach's fault for allowing it, but it admittedly always bothers me a bit. Although I think it hurts Coach, sometimes it's a great benefit to others... I managed to step in a heck of a GREAT deal at the outlet a couple of months ago! They JUST put out a camel Legacy Leigh at my outlet! I'm going to link an Ebay auction for those who have no clue what bag I'm talking about. I realized as of late I mention stuff expecting everyone to know what I mean without pics. It's NOT my auction, but I'm too lazy to go fetch my Leigh.

It was $104!!
Then the other week I was back again at my outlet, and I saw someone return a boutique Miranda in black!!! Not the MFF ones! I was thinking man, if that was the color I'm looking for, I would have been SO sold!! I think it was around $250, but I have since forgotten. I'm linking a thread where mbparcia posted her Miranda for those that don't know what bag I'm talking about:

So the occasional older outlet "find" at the best price EVER is possible!!!
Regarding purging items in the past that you now regret... I think we all have to be realistic as to why we got rid of the bag in the first place. Unless you got rid of it under duress, there's usually a darn good reason WHY. For ex, I know a LOT of the '06/'07 Legacy didn't sell because of the weight issues. That's actually why a lot of you returned the bags or sold them. I don't think this issue is going to go away (or probably not), so unless you are the type to just keep a bag in the collection with no intention of carrying it (some are, but that's not me), then it was probably a great decision to let it go! I freed up finances or space...whatever the benefit in selling, kwim??
One ex. of mine where I kind of periodically regret selling a bag that I sold a long time ago, is the beaded bag in the attached photo. I borrowed this from Ebay, but it was one of the original beaded bags I owned, and I loved it!! However, I carried it once, and the suede started getting dirty. It also was a bit small, and I had other bags I liked much more. I also owned some of the signature ones, which I was happy to get rid of because I just really didn't give a fig about the sig stuff...I just liked the beading, lol! So I got rid of these, but I do regret the blue suede now and then until I force myself to remember the reasons I sold it! Heck, I even had matching Uggs, lol!
Of course there are times when we do have some legit pangs of regret! I've done the same thing...sell and then have to rebuy. My two examples are a Bleecker lg duffle...had two and sold two, and then wanted to reclaim it again. Also a Gigi...same thing. Bought one, sold it, bought it again, sold it again, and then bought it for a third time and it's not leaving my house!!

The thing is I started selling off specific colors for styles I had multiples that I didn't want to keep a full set because I needed the space or to free up funds, etc, and sometimes I regretted doing that! In general I don't let much go period, which is also a problem, but I realize that I need to think VERY carefully before making a decision one way or the other!
Anyway, I would just say if you feel bad about letting some of the old goodies go, try to think back as to why you sold it. Many times you did make the right decision!!
