And I'll stick with this ............... it is only you who can decide how to proceed from now on.

And how do you think this will happen, bomb? Hermes stores WILL NOT authenticate for you. They will not tell you if a bag is fake or not. They will not supply you with proof one way or another. Your seller will not have to refund because you will not be able to provide any proof from "any authorized Hermes store all over the world."
bomb Honestly, you need to follow your own instincts at this point. The authenticators have spent a lot of time on this bag, and given you a lot of wonderful advice. MY two cents, take it or leave it, is that if a seller said that to me, I would not want to purchase from them, especially when spending thousands of dollars.
Good luck with your decision! Moving on shall we..
Bomb, as a newish member, may I give you a small piece of advice? Trust these ladies. They know their stuff. You will find another bag. Dont waste thousands of dollars on any item that has the least amount of doubt. If you have that much cash you can throw away then you must have enough cash to fly to Paris and SO exactly what you want. The ladies are being very nice trying to warn you but in the end it is your money. Be aware, that is all the ladies who give up their free time to help others, are trying to do for you.
Good Luck

Hi
I would say that this piece dates to the mid 1980's. Hermes developed a range, circa 1985/6, called Symbiose where one bag would be a collage to incorporate a number of colours, leathers and exotic hides in this case Ostrich. I am surprised that the Medor (pyramid) studs are not metal though. I've looked in my Hermes catalogues from this time and can't find this exact model, I don't have all the 80's issues, and so can't give you a name.
I would suggest your best bet would be to contact Hermes via their website hermes.com and ask if they could give you some information. It is a rare piece so that may increase their interest.
If you look on the back of the strap buckle there is probably Hermes engraved there. Additionally if you look at the back of the strap at the end or inside the bag, particularly near the seams, you may be able to find a letter in circle embossed into the leather. If you let us know what that is we can date the bag for you. The letter/circle called a Blindstamp is the Hermes 'way' of denoting the year of production and can be very well hidden indeed particularly with vintage bags so don't be surprised if you end up getting your head in the bag with a torch to find it!

If she is not affiliated with dresstokill, and does not share a photobucket account with them, there is no point in meeting her. particularly since she doesnt seem to know what she is talking about in regards to the leather. This could not be mistaken for swift under any circumstances.
I somehow doubt that additional pictures will make the bag any more authentic. But good luck with your meeting.
