Hi Thanks, but did you mean that you think the hardware is brass and not gold plated?

It's hard to see from the pics too I think, since it looks like they were taken with flash...
the seller has ignored me regarding the year it was made...

My rule is that if the seller ignores my question, then I ignore the seller and their sale.

The hardware is certainly brass .... if the seller does not respond to a simple question regarding age, I would be concerned about communications period with this transaction .... pls note, sellers are not online 24/7 and there are time often time differences between sellers/buyers depending on where each is based

Sorry to be impatient everyone, this bag arrived by FedEx yesterday. There are more photos on the last page (page 224 of the post post 3352 and 3353), I took them myself, and the bag does appear to be the bag that was photographed in the auction, to my eyes anyway. If you need more photos please let me know. I just want to relax and enjoy my bag, and be confident that it is authentic!Thank you in advance! tubs

Update on the Birkin bag story: I'm meeting the seller next Monday to have a look at the bag, and I'll try to take the pictures that you need to authenticate it. If you have any tips on what I definitely have to look at to verify if it's real, thank you very much for sharing them!
Because who knows, maybe Santa exists after all.. ;o)

Hello the sizes of the bag are 60cm wide x 50cms in height. And the bottom is about 30cms I hope this helps if you need extra pictures I can post them .I hope that I have met the forum rules?
As I have not had a response of any one concerning the bag I look forward to any help on this matter.Regards Meloned.

meloned, unfortunately, up to now you have NOT met the thread or forum rules. Read the title. Read the first post. Follow directions.

It isn't hard to supply the information that the authenticators request in the format they request. If you don't have a piece of requested information, then at least follow the format and indicate that you don't have the information available.

Since the authenticators are DONATING their VALUABLE services for FREE, we all like to do everything we can to make their VOLUNTEER jobs as easy as possible.

Read, follow directions, reformat, get the correct pictures as required, and I'm sure someone will help you. Good luck!

Sorry for bein OT but I have to ask. Have you agreed on a sale right there and then should you decide it´s authentic? If not, who knows what she will send you. The likelyhood of that bag being authentic is as low as me being awarded the Nobel Prize:D JMHO.

Hi Lovely64,

I think the best thing is to first take pictures, post them on this forum, wait for your approval (or disapproval) and then buy it, unless I can be absolutely sure if she shows me a proof of purchase or authentication certificate..but even that is not a definite proof, as I gather from this forum ;o)

Well, no harm in having a look at it is there... and you might win the Nobel prize once, never say never!

I'm sorry but a proof of purchase means nothing. It can be faked too.
And even it's an authentic receipt, that doesn't mean that the bag is authentic.
And H. doesn't have any authentification certificate btw.
So I'd strongly recommend to take pictures and post them here before you buy ;).
Good luck!

Em78, you appear to be determined to follow-up on this bag. Your process is not something I would recommend as you are not familiar with the brand. You are going to take and send pix while meeting with this person and going to wait for an answer after posting on this thread? Best of luck that someone is here to help you. I, for one, prefer not to be involved in such transactions, so I am taking a pass well in advance.

please do not consider these as a sign of authenticity ~ they are NOT.

by all means, meet up and take your pictures ~ but be prepared told that you have to make up your mind right away because there's another buyer in the wings or the seller is leaving town blah blah blah. don't give in to the pressure unless you want to give away your money to a con artist . . . and remember, the best ones are those who seem most sincere and have the best stories.

this bag is not real and the seller is trying to steal your money. anyone who would know enough to ask a thousand euros for this handbag knows that a real one can be taken to a resale shop for much more money. VERY occasionally an authentic hermes can be purchased for practically nothing at a yard or estate sale when the sellers have no idea what they have. but anyone who knows that 1k isn't a crazy expensive price for this bag is NOT going to be selling you an authentic one for so little. they are a thief who is banking on your optimism and desire to score a great deal.
