It’s ok-he just said that I was very small!!!

But I Really don’t want an operation..I’m very independent, and the thought of even needing help to look after the cats fills me with horror..it’s the recovery rather than the surgery itself I’m scared of tbh..
You are a strong and very disciplined woman. You will be fine. The surgery will come and go. It will stop your problems. As a dancer you know how to religiously follow rules so recovery should be textbook fine. I bet you ace at organisation, too.

I assume you have a fine doctor you fully trust. He says you will be fine, doesn't he?
Please try to hand yourself over faithfully to what has to be done and don't make it harder for yourself by worrying and pondering the what ifs.

You will be fine!

Yes, I have an excellent doctor, whom I fully trust.

He says I will be absolutely fine-in fact I was admitted for hysterectomy in 2022, but sent home as my white blood cells were too low, and my blood cells not clotting, and by the time my blood work was fine, my symptoms weren’t bothering me.

Thank you for both your confidence and support!❤️

It didn’t really go as expected..

My doctor/surgeon is very nice, and did his best, but I’ve never had children, and (without being too graphic), he couldn’t complete the procedure…

I have to return in 4 weeks and it done under general anaesthesia.
I tried to make light of it, and made him laugh, it also hadn’t helped that I’d reacted to the paracetamol Id taken an hour previously and was feeling dreadful..

So I have it all to go through again, but worse..

ETA
In addition he had the results of my scan, and unfortunately it’s looking as if a hysterectomy is on the cards..something I had been trying to avoid.
A coil is not an option as I have a life threatening allergy to progesterone.

I’m so sorry. If it helps, I had a hysterectomy (not laparoscopic) and I was able to do things. You just plan ahead so you don’t lift heavy things for some weeks after and you learn how to roll out of bed.

I walked home after a night in the hospital and I could make a simple dinner. I had a scooter from ankle cartilage replacement surgery that I used to grocery shop (so I didn’t carry bags). I found it helpful not to read about hysterectomy procedures on line. And, re recovery, I walked a lot

Hope you are okay

ETA: @cecchetti , the hysterectomy website unduly scared me, and I didn’t find my experience was what they described. Just plan ahead so you aren’t lifting large bags of food for your cats. Also, if you tend to keloid scar, tell them ahead of time; ask if a shot of kenalog is possible; and remind them right before the procedure. Not bleeding anymore; no cramps; no untoward bloating and other changes made this worth it. IMO, a mini pill has helped me tremendously to smooth out menopausal hot flashes and help with other things afterwards etc., but that’s your call :)

Thank you ❤️❤️-that’s all very reassuring.

I have my groceries delivered, so that’s not a problem really.
I also walk a lot, both as an ex-dancer, and for weight bearing exercise for osteoporosis.(And just because I love walking).

Maybe reading online isn’t such a good thing.
I second @880. Recovery is not nearly as bad for most as online forums make it seem. I would suggest listening to your doctor and avoiding patient online stories.

@cecchetti, I second what @880 wrote. I put off a hysterectomy for way too long. Even with some complications following surgery that turned my outpatient procedure into a three-night stay in the hospital, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. So, so much better than everything I was dealing with before it.

Hang in there!

Thank you! My daughter had a lovely registry office wedding. It was rainy and cold, but she and her husband had such a happy glow to them, that the weather didn't matter at all.

I wore my " cooler weather option" which I was glad I had prepared.

The bag of the day didn't fulfil the May challenge: black, not a spring colour...

I didn't want to get my pony Dior Diva bag and shoes all wet and muddy, so I opted for the black Diva and D&G heels.
Congrats to the happy couple and to you.:drinks:You look lovely in the emerald dress.:flowers:
💯

Beautiful and practical :D

Light colored bag challenge. We had a few days of warmth and are back to chilly weather. . .
Balenciaga cosmetic case as a bag thanks to @Conni618 :D

@whateve , charlie looks so happy with his rose :D
Love all these outfits and looks! Very chic.:flowers:

Apart from my new H casmere, these are my latest vintage additions

Hermès Twillaine sweater (I resisted buying the blue too !!!)
Gucci 1970s (Stivali da equitazione)
Two Cartier (blue-purple 1990s and pink jacquard is probably 1980s)

That's it now. I'm off to sell a few more unloved/unworn rings this week - coz I think I overdid vintage spending this month. In many ways I think my scarves are like jewellery - but 'jewellery' I wear.

Beautiful additions! I need to go scarf hunting for vintage Cartier scarves.

Sending healing thoughts to your DH.
