December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Last week I got a professional color analysis. I am a Fall. Wanted to ‘celebrate’ with a new fall/warm color bag. Also thought I deserved a Valentine’s present, even if I had to buy it myself. So got this gold beauty, and it was even delivered on Valentine’s Day! To keep my one in-one out I am letting my silver Soirée bag go to one of my cousins.

I'm popping into this thread for the very first time, a bit late.

But so, so very inspired by everyone's experiences and learnings! You all are a great bunch, and it's nice to have a spot here on tpf to help each other with this. Nice to see some of you from other parts of the forum, too! :) @Sibelle, I love your Loewe!!! Congrats!!

Hope it's ok to jump in like this.
A few things I've been focusing on this year, and some context- (long post)

- using and rotating my bags more, with no fear. It kind of coincides with more people around me wearing luxe and high/low, so I feel less self conscious. Also because it's been hard to try part with a couple of bags in particular, after spending most of the last 2 years decluttering my wardrobe. I've run out of things to comfortably give up, which I used to feel ashamed about, but now realise, it's ok! It means that I probably want to use them more- so yes, I will, I have been, and I'm so happy to have rediscovered these pieces that I originally bought for a reason. I'll be happier rehoming them in future times if I want, knowing I've truly been blessed to enjoy them.

- I bought a beautiful preloved Sofia Coppola bag unexpectedly last year, and it's been the best bag purchase I've made in a VERY long time.. it brought back memories of my "old self" but in a good way, before a lot of difficulties and trauma in my life, and it helped me realise how far I've come on that journey :) and also how far my dollar can go, less is more (it was a massive bargain), and how I used to prefer more understated bag designs, plus designs that aren't so tiny that you need a spare shopping bag to carry an impulse drink, snack or umbrella when you're going out. It also helps me curb my impulse shopping when browsing bags and SLGs. I've had a weakness for pouches and clutches, but when I see them for the same or higher price than what I paid for the SC, wow- it's really helped me hold back. I still love browsing very much! But I'm more able to just enjoy the eye candy without rushing to buy.

- using up my cosmetics and skincare- some of which is brand new, unopened from years ago- even if it's just one dab or Swipe of something, and realising it isn't for me now, at least I feel better that I'm using these things now.

- also not wanting to consign more bags/SLGs unless I truly want/need to, as I know that sometimes I've regretted doing so, and gone out to buy a similar but NQR "replacement " that never really fills that gap.. I never was like this when I was younger, so again, I feel like this is part of some healing and coming to terms with myself.

- at the same time, trying to free up space at home- so, decluttering items I'd rather donate, like certain books and knick knacks, than selling bags or clothes.

- cooking at home more- we were eating out a lot, or using Uber eats etc , but wanting to stretch the dollar more for our holidays and activities we enjoy, like concerts etc. Plus, for health :) I'm not a good cook at all. Am not used to meal planning, and we have different tastes. But , have been discovering how much fun it is to stretch a night's cooking or ingredients across several different variations so we don't get bored and it's still delicious. Plus, the extra satisfaction of knowing I prepped something myself.

This year, I'd love to learn to use a sewing machine, and will get some unworn clothing tailored , hems up on too-long trousers, adding elastic and zipper to a too-narrow top, etc - think it'd be really fun . Also attended our first ever jewellery making workshop on holiday in Seoul- got to use the solderer on sterling silver, see the process, that was fun :) going to try make it so that we try a new craft or hands on activity every time we travel.

Oh, and also, following a lot of "finsta" and FIRE accounts on social really helps balance out the shopping  🤓

Thank you so much for letting me share!

So today I used my small red Le Pliage bag to go to the dentists😬.
I had almost forgotten about this bag, have not used it for years. It is a lot more spacious than I had in mind. Anyway I am glad I rediscovered it .

I love this red, and the style and size are so perfect! I literally used to wash my Le Pliages in the washing machine, no joke- everything came out nicely, even the leather handles! The fuchsia one I had eventually did fade a bit, but it may have also been wear and tear, it was my daily bag for years and went on trains, planes, stashed in lockers, under tables, everything.
