December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

After two days recovery in hospital, I’ve been able to fly home to continue convalescing. Yet again, I’m bumbling about wearing more medical accoutrements. 🤨 I’d much prefer stylish designer accessories to the drab and often uncomfortable ones healthcare workers love to force upon me.

I’ll whine a bit as I’ve realized I’ve had 5 surgeries in the last 5 years with still a couple more to come. I’m trying to stay peppy but the grumpies have taken fierce hold today as I’m very tired of so frequently being “Bandaged, Braced and Bored”. I don’t even want to go for a teeth cleaning. Argh!!

But, I occupied my conscious moments over the last few days indulging in handbag fun. I “wore” (took with me) a lesser used WOC - Dior So Black Studded Diorama - View attachment 6085233and a utility (brand??) backpack to meet challenge #4.

And I fell in love again with the oversized coin purses that I’d forgotten Coach had shown on one of their recent runways. I would have KILLED to have this fun teddy to cuddle after surgery. :lol:View attachment 6085231
And I will SOOOO buy either it or this beautiful burgundy “regular” version if I can get my hands on one when they’re released. Any word on when they’ll hit stores? (And exactly WHY are mainline luxury brands not being this fun?)View attachment 6085232
Um… if I buy an oversized coin purse… er… that doesn’t qualify as breaking a handbag ban does it? :giggle:
Get well soon!
The burgundy oversized coin purse is gorgeous btw....

I’m shocked I’m doing really well with Challenge #4. I thought I’d really struggle with finding functionality beyond my usual top picks. But I’ve happily worn 5 other bags so far this month. The rotation and variety is making me fall back in love with my collection as a whole. I’m feeling much more purse content here in Ban Island Super Max. Lol!

Today I flew in for my 1 week post op visit. I wore a bag that DS gifted me last year because he knows I’m an over the top Hello Kitty fan!

Question for all of you: I hate putting my bags under the seat because that space is filthy from shoes, old food, people throwing up, diapers, etc. I’ve started bringing 2 small trash bags with me and placing my handbag inside a plastic bag for protection right before I slip it under my seat but I don’t like the waste.

What do you do to protect your bags from dirty floors and overhead bins?

My bday is next month. Mr. Sparkle has only given me one hint about the bag he’s bought me: “lots o’ pink”.

:whut:

I have four pink bags (with the latest being acquired this year) and he knows I don’t want or need another. Yet, he swears I will want this bag. I’m flummoxed. Any ideas on what it could be? It better not have something crazy like bunches of pink feathers or pink chicken feet.

I’m afraid that, although I use a crocodile bag every day, so am not exactly babying them, in someone’s car, I keep the bag on my lap like a baby!

Try not to worry, I’m sure your birthday surprise wil be amazing!

Honestly - I just carry a bag that I can throw in the laundry - I put the nice bag inside and then I don't have to worry.
I just bought a big black Baggallini for that purpose exclusively because we'll be traveling back and forth from Georgia a lot over the next 2 years.

I wouldn’t put it past him! :roflmfao:

While luggage goes on the floor, I never put my bags on the floor. I used to travel with a luggage tote. But this is a bag so EEK!

That’s a great idea! I’ll just bring an oversized eBay dust bag and put it in there. Then I can wash it when I get home.

I always use a dust bag. It’s usually not the one that comes with the bag, but something washable from Amazon or The Container Store. I agree those ares are filthy areas, so I protect my bags. And the dust bags keep things from open totes from falling out.

Maybe it’s something like a Hello Kitty Judith Leiber?

I’m just trying to think what might compliment your current collection and taste, without being a burden.

I do the same thing.
