2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

It's one of the reasons I haven't bought the Antigona (the stiffness), but I do like the look of the original Antigona. I am curious to try the soft Antigona the next time I am in the store. Your Givenchy bags are gorgeous! Love the pastel and pink shades.
You might enjoy this video, which compares the original and the soft (coincidentally, I just stumbled across it):

Interesting... she compares the medium original Antigona (which is actually a large bag) with the small soft Antigona (which is really a medium sized bag). I wish she had the original in the small size too in this comparison video, especially for the mod shots. Still, it was pretty helpful to get an idea of the features of the soft Antigona. I actually really liked the soft Antigona in this size, based on the video, but of course, the real test is trying it in person. Thanks for posting this.

I think she has a video that compares the sizes of the original antigona. Maybe you can find one someone made comparing the 2 bags you want? The soft definitely a different look than the original but both looked nice in the modeling shots. I only have the mini but did try on the small just for fun in a givenchy store in Miami a few months ago in the celadon color (same color as my mini moon cutout) and it was gorgeous.

Do you trust Consumer Reports on these types of purchases? They usually rate reliability.
I think the expression "your mileage may vary" always applies. When I was looking for dishwashers, Bosch always came up highest rated and the only reason I didn't get one was because the waiting list was over a year. There are people who had bad experiences with their Bosch dishwashers. Some products are lemons.

Maybe let her know in advance about the bag so she's not upset on the holiday itself? Or maybe she wants to contribute to the cost to get the bag she wants?
I think I only got carried away.
DD does not expect any really expensive present. The "unwrap" presents usually are 20€ to 40€. The challenge is to find something stunning that doesn´t cost much.
She will be happy with the freshly refurbed DKNY with its brand new custom bag organizer. The old models have the nicest leather.

Total bargain!

I am glad for you, but it makes me really sad that a bag like this should be so undervalued.

The silver lining is it now belongs to you, I know you really value its beauty and craftsmanship.
I totally agree. It´s unbelievable a bag like this ends up being sold for next to nothing. I think it´s our area here. People aren´t that much into vintage. In a big city like Berlin this one would have had a real pricetag.
Thank you! Yes, I do love the bag and value both beauty and craftmanship. I will wear it proudly!

Did I say I didn´t need a new bag the other day?
Well, I certainly do not need any, but I bought one...
... not the one that tempted me when I first posted, though. I found one from my HG list! Not the cheapest, but a great price for this model. I couldn´t pass up the opportunity...
Now waiting for my parcel to arrive- full of expectation and a little nervous too.

Can’t Wait to see it!xx
