2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

Re the discussion a few pages back - my (of unknown provenance) dishwasher continues to soldier on, but the Bosch washing machine I moaned about suddenly died this week. I think it choked on all the buttons it swallowed. I’m cross because it’s only 4 years old, but also very glad of a reason to get shot of it.
However, it look me a whole morning to decide on a new one :yucky: I just hate shopping for this kind of stuff, and there are so many ridiculous options I got sucked into comparing and evaluating, which I’ll probably never use. I could happily spend a week bag shopping and consider it a pleasure and time well spent, but shopping for appliances is a nightmare :faint:
I agree!

Thanks, the new one’s here already, less than 24 hours from ordering which is really good. It’s a relief to get the dirty soaking laundry out of the bath where I stashed it!
What kind of washing machine did you end up getting? I have a Bosch dishwasher and hate it. After reading reviews (which I usually don't do), I got Electrolux washer and dryer and also dislike. Was thinking of maybe getting LG.

I have quite a few bags that don't fit in any of the groups as they are smaller brands. Does anyone else?
When I ran home last week to photograph my Fendi and get caught up on earlier weeks, I did notice I had a couple bags with brands that would have fit alphabetically but weren't part of this. I did share a couple Balmain and a Dolce & Gabbana bag just for fun then realized I also have an Alexander McQueen that would have been fun to share too. I have several Jimmy Choo bags (one of my favorite brands but doesn't seem too popular on here) and they aren't listed as part of this either so I imagine there are many other brands out there excluded as well. Maybe we could add a week for miscellaneous or just share if noone is opposed. Thoughts?

I hate my lg and Samsung appliances, they constantly need repair.
This is interesting, I considered both LG and Samsung because of the good reviews. But in the end went with Beko. It’s very quiet and it’s got some useful features that weren’t on the Bosch (that I paid quite a lot for). Planning to redo the kitchen at some point next year, so not wanting to spend too much, but still need a quality machine. I’m hoping this Beko is going to be like the Longchamp Cuir of washing machines - fingers crossed!

Shopping for appliances is a crashing bore. I have to admit I was not very thorough when I picked the new dishwasher because of this very reason. Perhaps I should have done more research...
Someone I know has a GE dishwasher she is super happy with so if I have to buy another one (hope not!), I would probably try it out.

A week for miscellaneous is a great idea! Please do share your Jimmy Choo bags as well as those from other brands that are not in the list. Would love to see them!

On Givenchy and Ferragamo bags -- I love the Antigona but have not bought one. I should check out the soft Antigona when I am in the store next time. As for Ferragamo, I really like a few of their styles like the Iconic Top Handle, Boxyz (discontinued) and the Studio bag. I haven't really felt drawn to anything in their current line-up though.

Only lasting 4 years is unacceptable! Knowing that, I'll throw money at my old washer(20 years old) and dryer(38 years old) if it means I won't have to replace them. Even after evaluating all the options thoroughly you still won't know if you picked the right one until after you've used it for awhile.
