2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

The nero galuchat knot is indeed stunning. I found a thread in the BV forum -- knot knot clutch here -- and am going to try linking it. Hopefully, the link works. @jbags07 has a fantastic collection of knot clutches pictured in that thread, including this one.

Thanks for sharing that. Her collection of knots is mind-blowingly stunning.

Thank you for the mention and kind words @Purses & Perfumes , and @stacy_natalie
And yes @BowieFan1971 Knots are very collectible, once you start its hard to stop. I’ve added a few more since that post :) pic below lol.

@papertiger , i would love to see a pic of the Knot you are considering! And i hate to be an enabler, but given that you enjoy and appreciate Bottega Veneta, i think you would have no regrets adding a Knot to round out your collection. Its like carrying a work of art. And while the small ones do not fit a phone, they will fit your essentials. I am usually with DH when using one so i just give him my phone to carry lol. In winter the phone will fit in a coat pocket. And its also easy to hold it to the backside of the Knot as you carry it.

They are fun to carry when you are out for a meal, an evening at the theater, and to more formal events like weddings. I love to carry them with casual outfits, even if its just a lunch out. They spark joy! And adding one to your BV collection imo is a great idea. As @Love Of My Life says, and i echo her sentiment, Whats Knot to love!

Absolutely stunning collection, the green python and passementerie version is  - worthy, and the multicolour intrecciato with lizard is right up my alley, and the bright pink and blue too. The purple ostrich is truly a work of tPF art, but they all have such strong personalities. The black satin is perfectly sophisticated.

I've never ever even held one because whenever I went in they only had the satin (which in terms if etiquette is actually the correct material for an evening bag and I did consider a brighter colour or navy). There was a Blood (red) croc at some point, but again all sold out in London before it even hit the store floor.

I only have the pics sent to me on WhatsApp, so they're not public. It's just a basic lizard that is the same as a BV piece of jewellery I have already from the same collection. It's a good price because it's a private sale. When you think what resellers take, and the danger of being a seller, I can understand they want cash/DD, but I still need to be circumspect.

I'm glad they're current again actually, and in leather.

Wow, gorgeous collection and new additions! So many beauties, but my particular favorites are the green and blue one in the corner (behind the pink), the gold one next to it, the purple ostrich (so so stunning!), the multi-stone knot, and of course the nero galuchat. Actually, it's really hard to choose because they're all so beautiful and unique in their own way. Do you have a favorite, @jbags07?

Thank you sharing all of your beautiful Knots @jbags07! my favourite is your plum ostrich Stretch Knot.

Since this week does not have a theme, how about you show a bag you are interested in?
Hello all, I'm back here again.
I recently got a bag and I can't seem to stop using it. I've been using it nonstop since I got it. I had to force myself to use another bag today. This is very unusual to me since I usually change my bags daily.
It's a "lace" Alma BB. I can change the color by putting in different felt inserts that I made. Here a a few of my creations.

This also falls under the patent leather category.

Thank you for your kind words :love:sometimes i feel like i have too many, but there is room maybe for a few more i carry them often b/c i love them so much. I’ve tried to curate a diverse and ‘interesting’ collection and the ones you’ve mentioned are all favorites. The vision and creativity, combined with artistry and quality of materials and construction, makes these TM era Knots incredible works of art imho. Each one is outstanding in its own way. Its interesting you mention the satin ones being the correct material and most elegant for an evening bag. Its the only one I’ve never carried b/c we have not had any ‘fancy’ occasions the last few years. And i find i can easily carry all the others with a nice dress or even jeans and a T for some.

Its wonderful to see them in the BV line up again, as you said. The new ones are stunning too, although i do tend to favor the older brunito knot style. Its nice tho the new ones will easily fit a phone. I wonder if the new ones are mostly available in the city boutiques — or if they are selling out like the ones you missed out on. That red croc one sounds

BV lizards are lovely too, i have several lizard bags. I’ve found their lizard to age better also then other brands. It seems very meant to be that this Knot you are considering also matches a piece of jewelry you have, and from the exact same collection - how cool is that! It is good tho to exercise caution with private sales, and to be sure as there would be no refunds i expect. i hope it works out and you are able to purchase. :nuts:If not, another will come along if its meant to be. Please do share over on the Knot thread if you make the purchase and best of luck with your decision.:flowers:

Thank you so much! :blush:i’ve been collecting a few years, careful not to buy too too many but they are so irresistible, resistance is futile. And the ones you’ve mentioned are among my favorites too. Its really hard to choose, but the Nero Galuchat is my favorite, followed by the Plum Ostrich, but the Butterflies and Koi are vying for top slot too:nuts:

Thank you for letting me share  I love the Plum ostrich too, its one of my favorites. Its a special Knot b/c its from the estate of one of our OG BVettes, @Mousse. I feel blessed to have it!
