2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

For brown color week, I have two that I really like. Polene Neuf in the full size in color Cognac, and Gucci medium Aphrodite in "brown leather" (color is 2316, I believe). I had been wearing Neuf mostly without decoration, but I'm finding that I prefer it with some decoration to mark the front, since it otherwise looks the same on front and back and I like immediately knowing which side the back pocket is on.

Its real color is somewhere in between these two photos, but more like the one in sunlight.

I love how you decorated it. Beautiful selections!

How I love your Bolide 35, the colour and size!!! What does it mean PP?

Hope you are OK.

Thank you I'm fine :hugs:

PP= Peau Porc, one of Hermes heritage leathers. It has tiny follicle marks. I've only seen it in this colour (approximately 'Gold'). It's light-weight and durable (pigskin was often used for hunting and outdoor pursuits).

Welcome to the family Voyage!

After much deliberation, I have checked another bag off the wishlist.

I have been wanting a green bag for a while now and fell in love with the Moynat peacock color. I love how it has some blue in it and changes depending on the light.
Just had a hard time deciding on the bag.
The voyage grew on me. I love the clean lines and simple closure.

Got it from the private sale for 30% off so that definitely made decision making easier lol :P

Still within my 2 bags a year or 1-in/1-out policy.
Debating if I should whittle it down to 1 bag a year since I’m much pickier now and am willing to shell out more for a single bag.

Congratulations, it's absolutely beautiful. I like the way it's packed too

If you look through these threads, I've been doing 1 per year and 1 in/1 out for a while with an option of 2 in the same year. A couple of years I bought 0 and then last year I bought 3 (4 if you count my briefcase) so over the entire period I averaged 1 per year. For me that has both made me far more considered over each bag, but the option allows me not to feel 'I bought this, now I wish I bought that'. So long as your using, could use, or know why your keeping all is good for the bags you own.

I’ve sold around 6 bags in recent months and I’m down to 12 (mostly H) in total. Early retirement and the epidemic changed my life significantly. I recognised those changes were here to stay for me and I’m happy about it tbh. Life’s a lot less pressured. Bags which have gone have been larger hand carry or formal bags for the most part. I’m keeping the less structured and cross body bags I reach for most nowadays. Shockingly I haven’t bought anything in an age!
Brown/tan is a favourite colour, and these are mine. GM Evelyne (Maurice), mulberry Antony, Saut 25 (BF) and a Bolide relax (sikkim).

Love that Saut 25!!! Never seen one. Can we see more pics, like of the back and inside? What is the strap like?

The back is plain, and there’s a full depth front pocket and an inside slip pocket on the back wall. You can wear the flap to the back or front, and the strap is long enough to wear cross body (but not over a heavy coat for me). It is pretty small! They used to crop up regularly on h.com in various colours in clemence and in BF, and with different colour combos on the bar. Hth

Such a cool bag. Classic 'with a twist' done to perfection

Thank you! Yea, I was surprised. I was like, wow I get a styrofoam cushion for the top handle too?!

Yea, that's a really good idea! Thank you! I may opt in to your bag buying policy!:tup: I don't really want to accumulate a lot of bags quickly either, so it's a good way to take my time.
