2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

[Vintage Leather]

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.



• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.





So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

November 19 - Tory Burch, Valentino

November 26 - Bags by Jewelers: Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany Co, Van Cleef & Arpels. Alternatively, the pillboxes, compacts and other lovelies made by jewelers that fit in your bag.

December 3 - independent artisans and custom bags.

Took advantage of the latest Aspinal promotion to add these two.

The SLG is in their new color latte. And you all know I can’t resist taupe.
This is the full size Mayfair in evergreen patent. Still not a big bag, but much larger than the midi size.
It’s such a pretty deep green…definitely looking forward to using it when the weather is nicer.

Purses & Perfumes the mulberry WOC fit my phone, glasses, lipstick and cards, cash and receipts. Not much more will fit.

It is small, so not much. But I can fit a lip balm, eye drops, & my eyeglass cleaning stuff. Could probably fit another lip product in.

Great, thanks! Good to know it fits glasses in addition to the other things, so it seems to have a little more room than a standard WOC.

@baghabitz34, pretty greys, and I really like your grey Priscilla!

@dcooney4, is your grey Mulberry a WOC? I have been interested in one of their WOCs ever since I saw it in a shade called Tomato Red, if I recall correctly. Anyway, it was the perfect shade of red. I hesitated to buy it at that time because I wasn't sure about the capacity. Would love to hear how much fits in your WOC.

If anyone is ever interested in a bison leather bag, I highly recommend it. Takes dye extremely well! Seems very durable. The only possible drawback I see is it is definitely a leather for casual bags, not anything formal.

As for keeping my 2023 goals, this fills the ‘uncommon or exotic leather’ hole in my collection. My Khaite Olivia bag to use store credit before it expired didn’t really follow my goals.

What a great collection of grays! Yours tend towards the steely cool color range. (Mine, which I am photographing, lean warmer ) I just adore that “felt” picotin! I lusted for that stingray boy bag. That‘s an interesting Birkin..the “weathering” or is it painted?
