2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

For Grey week

I just noticed that my greys tend to the warmer end. I clearly have a thing for Dior Grey..!

from left to right:
Chanel reissue Camera in dark silver (twins with @More bags)
Dior so Dior Lambskin
Dior Delices satin clutch
Dior Delices Gauffre tote lambskin, which has ribbon interlaced in shoulder strap
Dior Panarea Coated canvas with my velvet ribbon handle wrap (because of design flaw)
Chloe Baylee medium Gray and Black (the Baylee is my favorite work tote and I have several)

This Dior delices satin clutch is a special issue (2010) that is signed by Gaultier. Who knows if it is actually individually signed by him or preprinted with his signature, which has a raised feel.E41F33E5-6ED5-4ACD-88A3-016E180240F1.jpeg

I love that you have just added more gorgeous bags and kept the original beauties.
Thank you dc!
Great, thanks! Good to know it fits glasses in addition to the other things, so it seems to have a little more room than a standard WOC.

Gorgeous collection of grey bags!
Thanks P&P!

@baghabitz34 congratulations on your new Aspinal goodies, the green is amazing!

@cowgirlsboots great grey Dior!

@JenJBS that’s a wonderful purple addition to your collection!

@880 :loveeyes: gorgeous grey collection!

@essiedub yay twins on the Camera Bag! :ghi5: I love your grey collection. Your Baylee is one of my faves in your collection.

What a great collection of grays! Yours tend towards the steely cool color range. (Mine, which I am photographing, lean warmer ) I just adore that “felt” picotin! I lusted for that stingray boy bag. That‘s an interesting Birkin..the “weathering” or is it painted?
Thank you! Cannot wait to see your warm grays :)

Yes, I love cool gunmetal gray; stingray (a fashionphile deal); and felt. The metallic Birkins, including the gray camo are the work of @docride. She does most of the spa work of my older heritage leather (mainly bc I want a rich even patina and some degree of weather proofing (no change in texture) and she also brushes hardware. The painted Birkin is an art project; I’m a visual artist. And, it actually goes with a series of paintings

OMG, stunning bags and gorgeous neutral taupe gray. Dior gray is so rich and elegant. LOVE

Neat! Did you paint the Birkin? Seriously! I remember when @Cookiefiend cut up her H scarf and I was like...eek! Your Birkin looks really cool and edgy. Do you use special leather paint? Will you show the paintings, please?

]@essiedub[/USER] yay twins on the Camera Bag! :ghi5: I love your grey collection. Your Baylee is one of my faves in your collection.
Thank you! I really do love Dior grey. I could do with a Lady Dior mini in grey hehe. Benjamin Moore has a color called Dior Gray color and while darker, has that purply gray undertone. I should use it in my closet!7B1CAD00-070E-4A20-9733-0A387CC9C361.jpeg

The Baylee really is a great understated and lush tote with thick chewy leather...not box, more matte, like a heavier Swift? I don’t think it would be the same if the hardware were anything but gold. The shoulder strap is interesting but with the buckle, it is so heavy that I never use it.

Thanks! No @docride did the bag  Not to everyones taste, but it was a personal commission for me
The paintings are about 5x6 and 4x5 feet. Bottom two rows have changed substantially, so these aren’t really accurate, but I can’t find the most recent pics. . . All my recent pics are bags lol

forgot to add a marketplaza deal mini BV cabat, TM era, that had been sadly painted bright tin man silver. The last pic is of the bag after @docride stripped out the added color and returned it to some approximation of its original. its arguably a tiny bit warmer in gray tone than the others.

If anyone is ever interested in a bison leather bag, I highly recommend it. Takes dye extremely well! Seems very durable. The only possible drawback I see is it is definitely a leather for casual bags, not anything formal.

As for keeping my 2023 goals, this fills the ‘uncommon or exotic leather’ hole in my collection. My Khaite Olivia bag to use store credit before it expired didn’t really follow my goals.

Thanks to @dcooney4 for introducing me to Go Forth Goods! This is their Jane bag.:hugs:

Lovely Soft Greys! Love the silver camera bag!

I like that Benjamin Moore paint sample! That’s probably my ‘perfect gray.’
