2023 Holiday pendant

No matter whether I like the stones or not, I can safely say VCA Holiday pendants ALWAYS look better in real life so I would highly recommend seeing them in person, if at all possible, before deciding. And they are also offered for a far longer period, sometimes online and in larger quantities than they want us to realise. ;)

Hmm, overall thoughts.

I think I’ll pass for this year. A neutral color is fine for people who have a lot of the colored stones. But personally, for my neutral jewelry, I reach for diamond/gold pieces. I don’t need a stone that’s gray, when I can go for solid platinum or white gold instead.

I think this could be a great substitute for gray mother of pearl, since it’s slightly more durable. And it features a diamond, which is always nice.

I think the silver obsidian photographs poorly. It also seems to not present well from a distance. It still has some contrast, but not as much “pop” as onyx. The slight sparkly texture is nice, but it’s not as interesting a texture as you see in marble, malachite, pietersite, or mother of pearl. The obsidian’s texture is also not as smooth as agate, onyx, or carnelian, where the surface shines cleanly in the light with a large reflection.

I think this piece is good to get if you don’t have a relatively neutral rose gold pendant in your jewelry collection. Otherwise, I’m eh about it.

Can anyone help explain to me the process with getting offered the holiday pendant? I’ve purchased several items from the same SA over the past couple of years - but not in the 80k range that I’ve read may be necessary? Im going to the boutique tomorrow for an exchange, should I just casually register my interest or wait til the VIP clients have been offered theirs and then try? Thanks!!

Doesn’t hurt to ask. I’m on the list - just with a regular spend over a few years with the same SA…I’m no VIP. Good luck

I love this year's pendant sooo much and really really hope to get one. But I don't have a history/SA with VCA in my current country (I'm based in Canada and I only have a few tiny pieces bought in other countries many years ago and they wouldn't come close to the required spend anyway). I walked into the store to ask an SA randomly assigned to me and got told chances are near zero. Also called and contacted customer service online and be put into the waitlist but I doubt they will be able to offer one to new clients like me. Is there no other way that I as a new client in my country will be able to get one this year?

My SA said for Holiday Pendant it may be offered to clients whom spend more than $75-100,000 a year on VIP list for each Boutique also is corporately offered by their VIP lists and each boutique only usually receives 20units total during 1 to 2 deliveries
But in the past depending on how popular the pendant is she heard where people walk into a boutique and they have found it not in the initial launch on October 1, but may be a few weeks after it lingering pieces. I spent nowhere near that amount so I’m not on any list. I do want to wait to see this gem in other “regular” pieces in the future.

Please don’t buy into this scare tactic. They say this every year. Last year, they made it sound like if you weren’t on the list for the first three deliveries, then there’s no chance of getting the elusive necklace. Well…6 months later they still had a whole bunch left and people who bought the necklace later actually had choices to choose from! Honestly, I see no reason to buy into the frenzy. Just be patience, there are plenty of HP pendants for everyone who wants it. At the end of the day, this is one of VCA’s bread and butter pieces (less material for a higher price); it’s in their best interest to make and sell as many of these pieces as possible.

Don’t lose heart, the 2022 was still available in boutique last month (I saw it) If you have some sort of spend history it may be possible.

Even if you have no purchase history, I’m sure whichever boutique that still had this piece is looking to push it out as quickly as possible.
I did refer someone to the boutique that still had the 2022 but they were told “no” because there was no spend history. I think it’s to try to stop resellers but I don’t really know the methods of who gets the HP to be honest

Has anyone here declined a HP in the past but was offered one the following year? I know it will depend on your spend but just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this. I’m not sure if I like this year’s HP but don’t want to miss out in the future.

Oh I’m just sharing what the SA told me. I’m not that interested in the HP myself. It does look to me that at this point they refuse to put anyone not meeting a certain threshold on their list, but just like what the SA and some of us had said, you never know if there will be some lingering around later after the first batch. I guess it’s all about luck.

At first I wasn't offered last year's, then more stock came in and my SA offered me one and I said no, but she told me I am on the list for this year
