VCA official photo of the new silver obsidian / rose gold additions. When I first saw this, I turned these pieces down as they appear very matte and un-shimmery. The HP looks super shimmery and gorgeous in the photos though! Looking forward to Oct 2

It's so beautiful but is it real? Some of the perlee beads look uneven.
Im leaning towards so because another girlie from Taiwan commented under that same thread saying she got to see it in person and it looked even prettier than the photos so my hopes are highhh haha
It's probably just the lighting and angle. If you save the photo and edit it to lower contrast the beads look even. Also the chain checked out, all the fake VCA's I've seen can't get the chain to look right.
I love the look of the bracelet (looks so much better without the diamonds IMO lol!). But I read that this stone is only about 5-5.5 on the hardness scale and is considered less durable than Onyx or Blue Agate? Do you think using it on bracelet would mean I need to be super careful? I’m normally very careful with my jewelry but still I don’t want to over worry.
Is it really impossible to buy it if your SA says you’re not on the list? It seems I can’t buy it.
Ooooh I hope so!! I already paid for it, so I hope it's this pretty. It does remind me of the WG guilloche so maybe I'll layer them. I love mixing metals. This combo of silver and rose gold is gorgeous.
I went to see it today, no photos, sorry. The sample is still wrapped in plastic bag. So as I remembered I think it’s close to the video from the Saudixxxxx ig.
The color irl is a little bit darker than pig brooch photo, but not that silver as pics from red app, and the effect is quite different from onyx and gmop. It’s hard to describe it correctly, but I would say it’s a dark grey with a flat surface and a slight gold shimmer, like it has sand inside, and the diamond complete it. If there is no diamond it might be too hard to decide since I already have onyx and gmop

I wouldn't lose hope as the HP this year seems rather polarizing; some love it while others hate it. It will also depend on which country you are in. If you have high # of stores in your country, your chances are improved.
I wouldn't lose hope. This thread and forum are not accurate representations of the actual marketplace. It reflects the opinion of highly invested and highly motivated VCA purchasers. The porcelain pendant last year was so hyped on this thread, and people were being told left and right that they wouldn't "be allowed" to buy it. Yet as far as I know, this pendant was still available to buy in at least a few boutiques THIS SUMMER (i.e., a solid 9 months after it was released). Just give it time.
I wouldn't expect every piece to be that shimmery, just like someone's SA said the stone looks flat and matte so I guess it depends on the the cut of the stone. When I showed the photos from XHS to my friend she said the HP she reserved isn't that shimmery/metallic either, but the shimmer is still very visible and elegance in person. Usually she doesn't go for RG but still said yes so I'll take her words for it
5-5.5 is still considered safe from water. If people are fine with wearing MOP (3.5) and solid 18k gold (2.8), I'd say the silver obsidian will be fine.
Yea I only own the BA and onyx which are both very durable. I’ll definitely keep an eye on the bracelet with this stone. It looks gorgeous with the RG!
My SA said the stone itself is matte but it's polished to be shiny...
