Cats has the Negonda, I have VC. There's no real con for Negonda, it dpends on what properties you need. Negonda is lighter than VC but durable, it's just more casual and naturally floppy than either VC or Epsom which both stay more upright. Epsom is the lightest but needs to be stored properly as dents and creases don't easily fall back into place. VC is the heaviest but for me OK, I carry it for work and shopping. I've had mine a couple of years and use it a lot and I love carrying it, I like the way things stay organised.

The only 'con' of a GP is they have no feet so I'm really conscious of not putting them down whilst waiting for the train etc. Because most of my other handheld do, I have to remind myself.

This is a great synopsis. My Negonda GP is floppy, but won’t puddle because of the way it’s built. I agree on Epsom — it is a pressed leather like Saffiano and will dent, as PT said. Also, my personal opinion is that Epsom is better suited to a more naturally structured bag like a Kelly (but then, I just don’t care for Epsom so take that with a grain of salt!).

And yes, no feet. That doesn’t bother me, but it is a con for many people. For me, the biggest con of the GP is that I can’t comfortably carry it on my shoulder. But in fairness, it wasn’t intended to be a shoulder bag. Also, I need a bag organizer with the GP because there is only one inside zipped pocket and I need more to stay organized.

It has a smooth - almost a dry feel to it, hard to describe, and a lovely subtle sheen when the light hits it. It’s supple but not sleek like lamb. FWIW I have ordered a bag online from h.com and returned it because I didn’t like the colour (at all!). It wasn’t a problem at all, and I was refunded promptly.

“Dry feel,” is a perfect way to describe Negonda leather. Even though it’s pebbled/textured, it has a sort of papery feel. Worlds away from lamb. I can’t think of an H leather that I’d compare to Chanel lamb, but I will say my Clemence Evelynes have more of a smooshy, luxurious feel than my Negonda GP.

I have a swift/sikkim leather Double Sens, they are both very soft smooth leathers, especially the sikkim. My first reaction to negonda was “oh wasn’t expecting that” - it felt strange at first, but I find it very tactile and I really like it. I do reach out to touch it when I walk past my bag, but I can see it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Everyone is killing me with their amazing leather descriptions of their beautiful Garden Party bags! Whenever I think I can safely talk myself out of it and turn away, I start feeeling the pull to look again. :giggle::facepalm::drinks:
I know the feeling I actually went to the Hermès site to price them. Lucky for my wallet they are well out of my comfort range.

It's very hard to buy a bag without proper knowledge or at least not for great success. Thank you very much for sharing the informative pics and candid insights which help me make my own judgement. I always try to buy a bag avoiding unnecessary returns. The process could turn up being very time consuming sometimes. I've been eyeing GP for a couple of years now, but this is my first time seeing gold (or any other neutral colour) stocked online in Northern Europe. I'm totally in love with the tan colour (or in fact, any tan coloured bag). Do you know does GP in Negonda weight 1 kg, 1,5kg, or more close to 2 kg without anything in it? I tried to google without luck.

@More bags
I wasn't planning to buy GP because I prefer shoulder bags but then I started to use my Bays 2 weeks in row, and now it feels natural.

I think H only make a couple of pouches from lamb. Some of their calf on bags is very fine but not quite that waxy silk of lamb leather.
