Okay, rising to the challenge of @Sparkletastic description of her ideal new black bag...

I have 3 more suggestions. I don't have these bags in black with SHW, but I see these as really versatile bags with ladylike and feminine silhouettes, which seems to be what you are describing.

They probably will be available in black / SHW combinations if not now, then in preloved market.
1. LV Alma. I have this in Rose Ballerine.
2. Mulberry Lily. I have this in Glossy Black (and I think @ksuromax has a lovely Oxblood NVT!)
3. Anything from Ferragamo. Such streamlined feminine silhouettes. I have the Fiamma in cornflower blue.

Probably the Lily is the closest to your description. And as you love your jumbo single flaps, this would be really similar.

What do you think? Am I rising to the challenge?

ETA: these all do meet your requirement of shoulder carry as well. The Fiamma has a detachable shoulder strap, and so does the Alma!

3 more ultra-stunning bags. One day I want a SF, they are impeccable.

So June stats.

Bags: 0 in, 0 out
SLGs: 2 in, 0 out

So we went to the outlets again today because I really wanted Coach space stuff.

Mom picked up a bag and wanted to get it, cuz it matched the backpack I got her and would complete her travel set.

I pointed out it was the bag she got me last time. So she offered to buy me something else and I would give her the Riley. Luckily I have been lazy in getting Tea Roses on it so she can do it herself later on.

I got a Coach NASA wristlet/crossbody and a Space Rexy charm/coin purse.

And that’s how the bag that came in also went out [emoji23]

But Coach space is more me.

Today I also wore my azure speedy. [emoji4]
Very Cute and can be worn year round.

Just cleaned out my wardrobe last weekend as I am losing my vision due to an autoimmune disease. Who knew that it would be a great motivator to finally tackle my closets! I gave away 10 giant trash bags of clothes shoes and bags. I will really have to shop my closet now!
So sorry about your vision. The cleaning out the closet aspect is great. I need to go through my clothes again come fall.

Oh dear - I am so sorry to hear that!
Good on you for tackling the closet - it's an on going process for me…

June stats are… not so good, but I did sell a scarf.
Bags in - one (Polene)
Bags out - 0
- but I do have 2 listed and after yesterday's trials with the LV Favorite Azur (went to a movie, it fell off my seat and spilled again), I've decided to sell it.
I am tired of things falling out of it (I've lost 3 of my favorite lipsticks and they don't make it anymore!) and I never should have bought it in the first place - I'm still kicking myself over it. It's just too small, the shoulder strap is too long, yet too short to wear cross body, and the flap doesn't stay closed if it tips over. I never thought I dropped my purse so often until this darn thing.
Humbug.

SLG out - 2 (donation)
Scarves In - 4 (one mini-grail, 2 gavroche, 1 sales-goggle episode )
Scarves Out - 1 out (Yay!)

Ladies, this thread moves too quickly for me  I lurk! I saw @Sparkletastic 's tote question and thought I'd throw in a few suggestions.

First the collage.
Prada Vernice Promenade? Here's mine in turquoise.
Prada Galleria medium? Here's mine in Bluette.
Burberry Banner medium? Here's mine in Thistle Grey.
Sac de Jour small? Here's mine in Lipstick Fuchsia.
Givenchy Antigona Small or Medium? Here's my small in Black.
YSL Cabas Monogram? Here's mine in Dove White.

I actually made this collage for another thread where someone was asking for work bag recommendations. I think all of these would fit your requirement of being a large-ish size but not all of them would work for a laptop (since you said you don't need to carry that on days you're carrying this bag).

Alternatively if you want something really casual, I use this Aspinal of London bag (second picture) as a document tote bag. It gets abused on a daily basis as I carry it casually as a secondary bag that sits on the floor etc as I commute (I wouldn't dream of putting my "hand"bags on the floor!)

The Aspinal was an impulse purchase by Mr Dawn. I had a no name leather tote I was carrying for rough use and he saw this and bought it along with a bunch of pouches/SLGs to organise my "rough" things. How many matching pouches does the man think I need?:giggle:

Well, if it’s any consolation, what you’re going through is my Number One, No Questions Asked, Know I Will Never Regret It reason for getting rid of a bag. When there is some aspect of function that drives me bonkers and makes me hate the bag, it’s time to go.

I’m so sorry to hear about your vision. That’s great that you can turn it into positive motivation to tackle your closet. 10 bags of donations is wonderful!

My head is nodding in agreement - just like the emoticon! :giggle:

My delicious Dior delices gaufre!
Best. Birthday. Pressie. Ever.

Fabulous!

I’m struggling. What is the best size for a purse like tote if I don’t need to carry a laptop? What size, features and why!

This tote will be used for days I need to carry more and for personal travel withOUT need to carry a laptop.

All suggestions needed from everyone please!

The Dior Delices tote that HopelessBagGirl just got is the perfect purse-like tote! it can be carried in-hand, on-arm, and over-shoulder. The over-shoulder length is just perfect - not too long. It can hold a lot, if desired but looks great empty. The lambskin is butter smooth, & fully lined inside, the “wrinkles” give it some added je ne said quoi. it has the chain detail and leather top makes it easy on the shoulder. the bag is not heavy. It’s so ladylike without being prim. I love mine. HopelessBagGirl loves hers. Charlize looks great in hers. I have the smaller size, Charlize has the larger. And since it is Dior, it is discontinued.

The wardrobe clear out sounds cathartic and marvellously organised!

last shot is Vogue worthy!!
actually i have 4 Lillies, Med Oxblood and Black, reg goat in pink and mini in Indigo, which, possibly, will go to my DD for her 10 in 5 weeks time... (too small for me)

Thank you @ksuromax!
I remember now, you have a gorgeous shocking pink Lily which is a stunner!
The photo of my Alma BB looks staged but it actually took all of two seconds to take! Mr Dawn and I were in a park. I saw pink blossoms that matched my bag. I told him to hold my bag, and I took a photo :smartass: I think the Alma BB is a bit of a poseur. Every photo I take of her comes out lovely. I'll attach a bunch of further photos of her  (Ps. I think there are nearly as many photos of bags on my phone as there are of people!!! :giggle:)

Thank you very much. I lurk on this thread and you have great taste so that means a lot. You would love Ferragamo. You never worry about frayed threads or glazing issues with a Ferragamo. It is a class act.

Love love love!

Thank you!!

My Alma BB ("Rosie") is attached, in all her model-esque posing, for @ksuromax
