2018 resolution - shopping my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

I see what you’re saying, but in this case, I don’t think it will affect my buying or not buying. The scarves I’m thinking of selling are ones I haven’t worn in years. Some have been worn a lot but fell out of favor, and a couple of others were scarves I bought when I was more of an Hermes newbie and didn’t know to look at how the scarf would tie vs. just loving the design when it was flat. Also, some colors I just don’t love anymore. And I’m not talking about a ton of scarves — maybe 3-5 out of 16 total. It’s not like bags, where I really have to grill myself over what the “mistake” was if I decide to sell. It’s more like clothes, when something no longer works and you don’t want it sitting in your closet, making you think you have more options than you really do!

So we went to the outlets again today because I really wanted Coach space stuff.

Mom picked up a bag and wanted to get it, cuz it matched the backpack I got her and would complete her travel set.

I pointed out it was the bag she got me last time. So she offered to buy me something else and I would give her the Riley. Luckily I have been lazy in getting Tea Roses on it so she can do it herself later on.

I got a Coach NASA wristlet/crossbody and a Space Rexy charm/coin purse.

And that’s how the bag that came in also went out [emoji23]

But Coach space is more me.

I gave 2 of my newly arrived bags (MM little Valerie in sugarcane glitter Pompei and red cherry Nappa) to my nieces and their smiles are just so wide. I gave 2 bags I never get to wear (MM Selene midi in dark green trinity) to my sister in-law and (a no name nude-colored tote) to my helper. And I've found my perfect green (with this, I plan to retire one more green bag next month, but I have to figure out how to. Donation or give away. It's a good Italian made bag, but very old so it's gonna be another question for me to deal with.) and interesting blue this month. I think when it comes to items, it's quite a success for me. [emoji4]

I got MM Penelope mini in sunflower as a gift with purchase since I bypass the cuff. I like the color, but don't think I'll carry it as a bag. I already have enough yellow bags. This is enough for me.

Edited to add, I purchased a necklace (gold and diamonds) today. I am traveling and I was originally looking for a different piece. We went into the boutique and I found this other beautiful necklace, which DH and DSs preferred. I am going to wear it tonight for a concert in a garden! Have a great weekend!

Omigosh, omigosh, omigosh! I just got an email from Leather Surgeons that my bags are done!

This is like Christmas because I haven’t really been able to wear either bag!!

The YSL’s handles were “permanently” repaired so I can now wear the bag without being terrified of it. LOL! I hadn’t worn this bag in over a year. I’m so glad it didn’t sell!

And, recall I got a red lamb Chanel flap to replace my red caviar? It had a few light scuffs but, I hadn’t sent it away for a spa treatment til I absolutely knew I wasn’t keeping the caviar. So, I’ve never worn it. (Not wearing either red flap has been killing my red bag game!) LS was able to take care of the scuffs without dying the whole bag which would have been a total no go. Dying lamb changes the texture which is 90% of the reason I switched materials.

This is like getting two new bags!!! I’m hoping they’ll be in shortly after I get home on Tuesday. Ohmigosh!

(I really need to be this excited about all bags coming into my collection. LOL! I’m going to continue to hold myself to that standard for future purchases.)

I have the Loop sandals and I can totally vouch for them confidently. [emoji16] I've never tried any other style from them, although I'm eyeing some other style that are not heels-like, too. But then again, I don't have many heels. [emoji28] I'm curious. Which one you think is the most comfy? Please limit them to contemporary in case I want to follow suit or maybe try them on. [emoji16] I don't wear heels often. Premiere doesn't worth it for me. [emoji28]

Loops are fantastic, I could def see myself buying and wearing Loops in my future as well as some Folds.

Contemporary? Can't promise, heels last me years if I like wearing them.

My Gucci Betty heels are my most comfortable. Gucci shoes were made by Sergio Rossi at that time so maybe SR still have some good ones. They tend to be way too high for though.

I got a great suggestion from another friend on what to give. I’m sharing in case anyone else wants to copy. Since she is becoming the big 5-0h I’m going to give her 5 presents beginning with O. The first four will be fun silliness. The 5th will be the trip - I guess I’ll have to call it an Outing. I can’t execute on this today so I’ll have to ship it back to her.

Thanks for sharing!!!! We like a lot of the same bags. (I love your posts in the what bag are your carrying today.) I have a YSL monogram Cabas and two Prada double zips (very similar to your galleria). I considered the SDJ for a looooong while. Still considering the Givenchy Antigona. That is such a beautifully shaped bag.

I think I have a picture in my head of what I want which is causing the struggle because designers aren’t in my head. LOL! It needs to be black with shw, shoulder carry, timeless, relatively lightweight, functional and “pretty”.

Meanwhile, I’m going to take @vink ‘s advice and not think about it. Hopefully getting a sleek backpack for travel will take the pressure off. That will be fun to look for and easy to find. And, since it’s luggage it won’t count towards my handbag collection. LOL!

I have 3 more suggestions. I don't have these bags in black with SHW, but I see these as really versatile bags with ladylike and feminine silhouettes, which seems to be what you are describing.

They probably will be available in black / SHW combinations if not now, then in preloved market.
1. LV Alma. I have this in Rose Ballerine.
2. Mulberry Lily. I have this in Glossy Black (and I think @ksuromax has a lovely Oxblood NVT!)
3. Anything from Ferragamo. Such streamlined feminine silhouettes. I have the Fiamma in cornflower blue.

Probably the Lily is the closest to your description. And as you love your jumbo single flaps, this would be really similar.

What do you think? Am I rising to the challenge?

ETA: these all do meet your requirement of shoulder carry as well. The Fiamma has a detachable shoulder strap, and so does the Alma!
