(It packs up into a 'flat' tote--but you're then still carrying this!!!)

We’re thinking of similar things. My thought is something more like this:

As you said, the problem is having to carry it with you before filling it up. I’d probably only use it for designated grocery shopping outings, not during my regular days where I’m stopping at the store on my way home from somewhere else!

She is new to me, and well taken care of by the previous owner. Leather is on the heavy side, thick and chewy. It maintains its shape whether the front is snapped or not. I have not had any trouble snapping it either. There is a small pocket on the back, would be good for flat things like tickets, tissues, etc.

Snapped and unsnapped - it is definitely easier to get into with the snaps undone. When snapped I have to pull it open a little further - not really an issue but an FYI. It’s lined in a dark green cotton fabric, has a zipper pocket and 2 open pockets in front of it - one of those open pockets is large enough for my iPhone 8. It is on the larger side of medium for me - I have plenty of room for a full size wallet, checkbook, small cosmetic bag, sunglasses, Epi-pen and keys. I could get much more in it.

It’s a good size for me - doesn’t look too big or too small. I have the strap on the shortest length in this picture (I am 6’ tall) so... that’s a longish strap. But when I adjust the strap to it’s longest length - it’s not long enough for me to work as a crossbody.
I’m going to carry it today to Conner Prairie with my GD and I’ll let you know how it goes.

Lovely Polene, thanks for sharing the pics. It looks awesome on you!

Not a great photo of my new red bag as it is very dreary here.
The colour is beautiful, congratulations on your new red bag!

Love the numero un!

:flowers: I hope you are enjoying your vacation!

The size of this bag is just perfect on you! I saw it on ebay(right?) and was so unsure of the color, but obviously it's wonderful. Would you call it a bluish green? vs dark green?
Thanks for the great review. The length on you, on the shortest hole, is right on. That's the length I need, but I am 4 " shorter. Would I be able to have additional holes made, do you think?
Actually, I have been eyeing this bag for over a year, and in the spring wanted the pink, of course when it was out of stock. By the time it was available, I had 3 other new summer bags, so now pink is out. Now my dilemma is which color? plus the length of the strap.
Again, it is perfect on you!
Yes - this is probably that same bag. it's a dark green maybe with some blue-ish tint to it - it's a great color! I think you could absolutely have more holes made, there is plenty of room.
I had been watching the Polene for a year too! :giggle:

It really is lovely.
Thanks! :flowers:

I carried it through the park and it was never too heavy or awkward - I was able to sling it behind my back when I had to bend down to tie shoes (double knots are the way to go), I didn't ever feel like it was in the way or bumping into people around me. The Sweet Pea was given 'Walking Onion' bulbs and a giant sprig of spearmint to take home, and I had no qualms about putting them in the purse - I don't feel like it's a 'Precious Petunia' sort of purse.
I did have a bit of trouble getting my wallet out, so I think depending on the situation, I would unsnap those front snaps to allow for easier access. The purse still keeps its distinctive shape even with those undone.
Earlier I said that the leather is thick and chewy - I think rather than chewy - it's more… sturdy - if that makes sense.
I am very much liking it after a whole day of carrying it!

Let me ask you all-- shouldn't bag 'sentiment' and 'joy of memories' then count for something? To up the practical -application percentage of the bag itself? So for instance if the bag itself is day, 75% , but you love love love it and it makes you happy for the reasons mentioned, wouldn't that increase it to at least 90/95%? :confused1:
Yes, I think so. And I've heard (I didn't invent this, but I can't remember where I saw it) that there should be, in addition to CPW, a category called PPW: pleasure per wear.

So, f'rinstance, my two LV bags... Capucines BB and Montaigne BB... which are a bit on the small side, are honestly not the most practical bags in my collection. I have to plan a bit for their use. They don't fit my iPad, or a notebook, or really anything "extra" other than my absolute basics. But they are my most luxe bags, I adore the shape and the leather, and I always feel very special when I am carrying either of them.

CPW on either of these? Not necessarily so great. PPW? Excellent!

It's absolutely smashing! I just love the color, and the contrast of suede to leather.
Do you think it would fit an iPhone X?

The previous owner must have had it for all of 5 mis, it looks totally new.

The colour is TDF and it looks just right on you, congratulations to the max.
