Yep, I had been using the PS for the crossbody. Maybe that can suffice. :hrmm: It would be nice to not have to buy a bag or sell this one. It’s the one Mr. S says is homely. :crybaby: I don’t think it’s high fashion but homely seems a little harsh. LOL! The only issue I have with this bag is the chain strap is a little uncomfortable. And you know I love a chain strap. This bag weighs next to nothing so I can’t figure out why it can be uncomfortable when none of my others are an issue. So I think I envisioned a leather strap.
Interesting that your husband doesn't like the design of the PS. A couple of years ago DH and I were in San Francisco and went into Neiman Marcus specifically to check out PS bags, because I was quite sure I wanted one. Now, understand that DH is very supportive of my bag habit, and he gets involved in the process, so he was definitely prepared to love this bag. But the minute he saw it, his first reaction was "ugh." And when I quizzed him, he said it made him think of the Pony Express riders!
Of course, once he said that, I couldn't get the image out of my mind, so that was the end of that. I suppose it didn't help that the one I was eying was a camel/tan/beige color, so it kinda did look like a mail pouch...

I'm seriously going on an overseas trip in 12 hours with just that Tumi Luanda flight bag. Of course my kids each have a carry on and my husband as well, but.... It's so fun to travel to my mom's and use her closet and not need to lug stuff for me!!!!!!

I love metallic bags! Yay for you!

Lol! This is my PS. I really don’t think it’s homely. LOL! But for some reason he thinks it’s sad. :lol:6934B8B1-9BA8-41C1-8C7B-5A9AB665D9DF.jpeg

I don't even know why I didn't get it. Definitely must be the monogram.

Agreed, I think the monogram is a potential downside for some. And if I were doing clean out my closet questions, such as, would I buy this item today - I’m not sure that I would because I have moved towards more under the radar bags at this stage in my life. This is a bag I have evaluated and chosen to keep in my bag wardrobe because I still use it, however, there are bags I love more and use more often. The BH is a 7 out of 10 in my mind and the majority of my bags are 9s and 10s. The other complicating factor is that it was my gateway bag into designer bags, my husband and I picked it out when I returned to work after my first maternity leave. I know it is in my bottom 25% of my bag wardrobe and due to having cut the bag wardrobe down significantly I am taking a pause before feeling like I need to release anything else at the moment. I guess I had more on my mind to say about the BH than I originally thought! :amazed:

Beautiful gold addition, just in time for summer!

Thanks DC. I love this practical, easy to use bag. It is lightweight with soft flat handles and a good strap drop. I still like wearing my BH and it is more than 10 years old! Have you thought about borrowing it back from your DD for the summer?
No I have plenty of bags. Plus if I borrowed it she would want to borrow some of mine. That won’t happen. Lol I am to careful with my bags and she is not always. She is trying with her bh but some of her other bags could use a bit more care to say the least.

Elaine, it must be a man thing, When the PS1 first came out, with all the hype, I was absolutely certain I wanted one, It was just so cool. So I took DH to see it and what was his response? “Meh. It doesn’t look like a $1,500 bag.”

So I held off on buying, and the bags went through a phase where the hardware was falling off and there were significant issues with fading. By the time that all seemed sorted out, I didn’t want it so much anymore. But I still think it’s a cool style.

Sparkle, if your DH is anything like mine, he likes structured bags. Your PS is definitely NOT homely! But I can see how he wouldn’t like it if it were sitting next to one of your Chanel or Dior bags. Or the LV Lockme BB.

I REALLY appreciate all the input. I love this thread because it’s like having a bunch of sisters to giggle over bags with me.

I think what I’m doing right now is considering a number of bags and getting all of your feedback on them. That’s helping me think hard and narrow down. Then when I do decide to buy a couple (or three LOL!) over the next couple months I’ll know I made the right choices in the right priority order.

Here is my short list of what I’m considering - no particular order:

Bags that fill a “need”::tup:
Chanel Timeless Tote (black) - Need to try it on. Hope it can be the pretty travel / everyday tote I need. It’s super gorgeous but, gosh this is waaaaay more than I want to spend on a tote since I don’t wear them often. :whut: I’d budgeted $2500. I think this is $5kish :faint:
TUMI backpack - there were several great models! Yay! Thanks @dcooney4
Chanel Black Lamb SF Jumbo w/shw - If I’m honest, this is the bag I want. I’ll adore the bag. But, I really worry I have too many lamb flaps (?) I don’t want a bunch of deflated quilted bags.

Bags I just want because I’m a pursaholic:  I keep coming back to these bags:
• LV LockMe II BB (red) -
Balenciaga Edge (Black shw) -
Fendi Small Mon Tresor (pink w/pearls)
• Lady Dior (bright, fun color)
• Hermes Kelly (cobalt or bordeaux)

If you were going to pick just 2 for me to buy this year, which would they be?

Full disclosure: if I find my unicorn - black Miss Dior Sliding Chain w/ghw around $1500, I’m buying it!

Am I supposed to pick 2 bags total, or 2 from each list?

The Chanel Timeless Classic Tote is $4,600, so with tax, yes, close to $5K :wtf:. I love mine, but at that price, you really need to try it out in person to know for sure. For me, it’s also replacing two H Garden Party totes, so that’s part of how I’m justifying it!

The same thing is even more true of the H Kelly. If you can, try one on and see how you feel. Maybe get one from a site like Fashionphile so you can return it if it’s not right for you. Also, there’s a lot of research to be done in terms of sizes and types of leathers, so be prepared for a bit of a project!

Aside from those two, I have to say the Chanel single flap Jumbo and the Bal City have been two bags you’ve talked about over and over. You already said you don’t really feel the need for a red bag and I don’t remember you talking a lot about the Fendi, so maybe put those on the back burner for now?

I’m excited to try on the tote. I hope I can find one!

And, I really want a green bag. I have for a while. I’m just super particular about the shade and rarely see the ones I want available. This emerald is ridiculously pretty. But m/l would be the only option. Jumbo is just way too much green. LOL!
Great suggestion!!! I just did! In fact I just unwatched all the bags I had in my list. None were passionate love. So why keep the clutter in my head.

I love this bag. I would really like to have one of Prada’s older Vitello Daino bags. The leather was amazing.

I’m surprised this is hard to match. But maybe your wardrobe is like mine. It doesn’t lend itself to browns. And I agree Prada’s gold is GOLD!!! It makes it a little hard to wear my black bauletto at times. For a classically shaped black bag, it screams.
Thank you for the well wishes!!

I’m glad to hear that.
I think you are right. I tend to like more girly or classic items. But, I do need bags that are casual. I keep referencing the Jimmy Choo you and I both have because it’s a great example. It’s not my usual but works really well in my wardrobe. It’s a carefree bag that still has style. And, it won’t easily go “out of style”. So I don’t see myself ever getting rid of it.

I think the Fendi could be the same. It won’t ever go out of style (except with trend following bag fashionistas), it’s super functional and I really like the casual look.

If I made it compete with my other bags it would lose. But, I think it definitely has a place. We’ll see what happens when the attitudinal YSL so black monogram cabas comes back. LOL! I reserve the right to keep or sell either or both. I feel like my black bags need a little work to be perfect for me. I still need a good replacement for the patent Chanel’s “usage” and have no clue as to what that could be.

Yes, I have talked about that red LV for a while. I’ve hesitated because I’ve never walked in my closet and thought - I need a small red bag. I have my Trussardi and that works for me. So, hard pause.
Selling for what you paid? Score!!!!

ITA you must get a green bag

Greens blues and pinks are so varied you must be fussy.

Also hardware colours are really important depending on which shade. I like my emerald and blue-greens with ghw, anything on the warm side with phw/shw

I’ve mentioned that I need a couple more work bags. Thy have to be something I love and big enough for a laptop but not carry obvious branding. That is haaaaaaard to find.

I’ve been seriously thinking of getting a Strathbury tote. They’re big enough for a laptop but sleek and beautifully designed. I adore these bags.

The bottle green is calling to me. Yum!! But, I think the burgundy would be more practical and wearable (?) Can someone talk me into the green. LOL!

And, is it overlap if I get the burgundy since I have my Gucci Stirrup in a similar size and color? (The Gucci doesn’t hold a laptop.) 5C4F82F1-7EF1-4C38-810D-94F0C9DF3AE4.jpegD824BC9F-5CB5-4DAC-A450-ACD381237DAB.jpeg 8223AAEB-4B19-4A92-BAE4-240EBBCA33B6.jpeg

That green one is absolutely gorgeous! Is that the green you've been hunting for?

I'd invest in the best tote I could find (that doesn't always mean loads of money). Firstly, it's a need and not just a want and secondly, a really good tote/shopper can be your best friend. When I was going to meeting after meeting, plus a little shopping and whole lot of hospital visiting my H GP was a gdsend, totally invaluable. Pretty little handbags are all very well but then you sometimes actually need an everyday bag you can absolutely trust.

Great bag

I like the green. It's the coolest colour. Think of any colour you can wear outfit wise, this bag would be fab, and slightly edgier than the burgundy (bearing in mind I was carrying dark red today)
