I only knew about Leather Surgeons as a refurbisher — good to know they authenticate as well!
They authenticate before they do any service and give you a certificate showing it’s authenticated. So even if the bag is great, I just send the bag in for an inexpensive refresh (I like knowing it’s been thoroughly cleaned and conditioned before I use) and get the authentication too! If the bag needs any minor touch up that I’d normally ignore for a while, I can get that completed as well and have a like new bag from the beginning.
BTW - they service all brands. People have posted some amazing work they've done with Hermes, Dior, etc.
And last note.
I also love another company - Leather Pros in California. They are cheaper and will even complete amazing repairs that LS won’t attempt. If I don’t need auth, I use them instead.
Thank you for the advice. I'm glad to know and very excited. I sometimes see a great deal for a very well-loved Chanel. It sometimes takes me a month or so to really fall into step with a bag. I'd hate to spend upwards of 5k to find out the flap just doesn't work for me. Have you ever tried bag rental services? I don't know anyone that owns the medium or small flap, most people I know tend to have the woc.
Bag C has arrived!! Just as I hoped and expected it got to me Friday. I put the order Monday morning. [emoji3] I wouldn’t have given this a chance had I not tried the non-nubuck version IRL. I like the simplicity of this tote.
First time for me to own a nubuck bag, gosh, it’s so soft!! And I love that it hugs me well! And I love this color called Heather Grey. [emoji173]️ And it weighs 1.9lbs on my luggage scale which is on the light side for me.

It’s nothing fancy as the Altuzarra bag, but I’m happy with this!! Bag A was the non-nubuck version of this. There were several colors at heavily discounted price: turquoise, coral, orange, blush and brown. I was leaning towards blush. But what I needed really was grey, so I went for this. If there was fuchsia I would have gone for that.

That’s a pretty bag! That grey is a really good neutral and you could easily wear it with your work clothes!
I went to see the turquoise bag, it looks similar in color to the MCM i sold. I really like that color but I’d need it in a different style.
I was almost tempted by a turquoise Coach Nomad at the outlet, but DBF pointed out I don’t wear that style.
I guess with summer I’m wanting more turquoise. It’ll go well with my blue dresses.
But I shall keep to shopping my collection, I’ve been in my Mon Monogram Neverfull, attended a graduation with my Coach Tea Rose Camera Bag, and attending a wedding today with my grey Speedy 20.

These bags are expensive so anything we can do to ensure a good purchase is a good thing. I haven’t tried a rental service. I think those could be a good option. One good thing about Fashionphile is they offer returns as long as you keep the tag on.
I bought a Chanel WOC for my DD and she loves it. It’s much roomier than I thought it would be. I have a M/L and jumbos. The M/L does hold a bit more. For example, it can fit sunnies when the WOC can’t. Can you go to a store and put your things in the various bags to see which will work? That may help make your decision.

Don’t forget to spray your bag with fabric protector. Nubuck is so lush. It’s just a little scary. LOL!

That is a pretty bag. But, that color in nubuck would scare me too.
Keep in mind the WOC is exactly that: a Wallet. On a chain. If you can go out with just a wallet that will also fit your phone and a lip gloss, it will work for you. I sold my WOC because it was just too small to be functional for me. I’m always shocked when people say they can fit sunglasses, keys, etc, in a WOC, because that was just not the case for me. In addition to all the above, I need to carry Kleenex, an inhaler, and hand sanitizer. That doesn’t work in a WOC. That said, I have issues with downsizing
