So I mentioned to you guys that I want to sell some jewelry...

The first place I went to was highly rated but was such a scam. I have a ring I paid $17k for. He offered me $200 cash and tried to tell me it was lesser quality than I know it to be and that the style just wasn’t in demand. :annoyed: I went to two other places and they told me they could sell it on commission with quotes of estimated proceeds for me of $7900 and $9200. The 2nd guy even suggested I sell it on line for more than he quoted (closer to the $9000 range).

What a rip off from the first guy. :cursing:

He was seriously a crook!

But, again this is why I need to always buy to keep and content myself with why I have since I have nice things. Reselling anything is a pain.

I’m rethinking the other prices. I may take @Pessie ‘s advice and look into having them restyled.

Reselling jewelry is so difficult. Everyone want to lowball items that you have spent thousands of dollars on. That’s why in the past I haven’t really stocked up on Good jewelry because I wasn’t sure what I wanted or needed. I have the basics of course but extra rings, necklaces etc I’m just starting to look at

Here’s the Antigona. It’s a colbalt in the light but for some reason photographed dark. I think I really like this bag. Need to carry and see how it feels
Gorgeous! Let us know how it wears.

Jewelry is and forever will be my first wardrobe love. :hbeat: We always bought good and significant pieces albeit veeery slowly in the early days. LOL! I’ve had to do the reverse in the last couple years - get nice fine jewelry basics. I always wore costume basics. I got rid of those and am rebuilding my casual wear jewelry. In fact I’m on the hunt for more wg pieces now - especially earrings. Eventually I’ll add back in some cute costume pieces. Some looks are just too cost prohibitive to get in fine jewelry.

I haven’t sold very much jewelry in the past. Mostly random Tiffany’s silver pieces which are super easy to resell. You don’t get much but, then they don’t cost much originally so it’s not a big hit. And they move quickly.

This is the first time I’ll sell larger pieces. I don’t have any issues with the hits on these two rings because I wore them a lot and they aren’t exciting me anymore. That being said, I’m going to check with a jeweler about restyling. It can’t hurt. And, maybe I’ll salvage at least one and it will be love.

I’m a little bag restless too, TBH. The last bag I bought was in December, so 5 months ago. I have a birthday coming up toward the end of the month, so I’m “allowing” myself a bag, lol! I have a bag (or two) in mind, but not totally sure yet.

I realized I have a couple of bags that I don’t use (or find frustrating when I do), and I’d like to get a better option, but have been hesitant to sell the ones I have. So yesterday, I sent some photos of one off to Fashionphile and Yoogis to see what they say. If the price is right, I’ll sell. Even if it’s a litle low, I may sell anyway, just to clear the space (both physical and mental) for something that will work better.

It’s funny — I always advise people to get rid of a bag if it doesn’t get used or is not working. But I’ve hesitated on this one, I think because I remember how badly I wanted it when I got it six years ago. Also because I know that for the retail price, I won’t replace it once it’s gone. So it’s kind of a final decision for me and I want to be sure. But in my heart, I know I’m just no longer feeling it with this one.

Which bag was it?

View attachment 4063331I was using Asian sunscreen for a few years because the formula was nice, (although runny which you need to get used to) and non greasy, immediately absorbing, no white cast. Feels like clean skin after it sinks in, which is a fast process.
But now Neutrogena has an option you can get at Walgreens. I love it.
Want, need, want, must have

On my wish list:
1. Hermes roulis and/or verrou but they are way out of my price range
2. a small/medium bright red bag (like BV intrecciato) possibly to replace my MM red nappa zhoe which I am out of love with.
3. A plume (fun color, or tan canvas/grey leather like a tPF friend has)
4. another bolide

Nice list!

Really like the look of of the Roulis but I never get offered on in a colour I like or is worth buying a H-bag for. Verrou is TDF (Deco design and yet so contemporary). Vintage are as rare as hen's teeth and the price of them new is through the roof.

If you don't have a Plume already I can totally recommend getting one. If it doesn't rain next week I may take mine out for Spring spin. And yes, as you know, I'm a major Bolide fan. These 2 are the only H bags I'd buy as exotics.

I have plenty of commute time in the car, but have learned that I don't really like having books read to me. I can listen to podcasts, though (seems a more natural format, I guess), interviews, stuff like that.

Oh I need podcasts too!

It took 8 hrs to get through a book yesterday. It was great. Tuned everyone out, focused on the book and work.
