Not sure. I do not know that Brand, but the shirt looking really ragged. But then again, may be i am not a fashion expert, although i'd rather not looking like my mothballs failed ( No offense sycomore)
[emoji3] isn't his shirt from the brand IRO Paris? I have some of their tshirts with lots of holes [emoji23]

I'm so upset to hear about the line cutting. I really wish people would be more respectful to one another... :bagslap:
I hope all you tpf'ers in the queue manage to get what you want and that the line isn't too long

I'm doing this for the first time and definitely the last for the experience and the wait is long but bearable with wifi. The line cutters though are terrible!

So many went to the front of the line and cut in and there was even a loud argument. Also, there's bunch of women behind who us keep trying to get in front of us right from the get go. How much difference would that make??? But they keep trying. So rude!

We are now closer to the front then back but this part feels the longest. We are not looking for anything in particular, but will definitely get something after such a long wait!

@weN84 It appears you had a successful morning! I am so happy for you! By the way, I have always enjoyed your AH avatar. I have just awoken, and I'm still at my hotel. Since it's now after noon, I am wondering if I should still go today. I just arrived Paris 24 hrs ago, and I desperately needed sleep (I forgot to pack my NoJetLag tablets this time, and they always make the arrival transition to local time so much easier for me.)

I am hugely disappointed in today's reports of massive line-cutting. This should not be tolerated by whomever is monitoring the line for Hermes. Busloads of people driving and cutting in line at the front all together! Outrageous.

Now I am deciding whether I should stop at Les Deux Magots and have my chèvre sandwich and THEN Uber over, or just go now even though I have had nothing to eat or drink yet.

Do they keep the line "open" straight through the afternoon, or do the inside H staff closeup for a lunch break? Since the soldes stays open until 8:00 p.m. this evening, I am wondering if I might just do better by eating and then heading over to the back of the line mid-afternoon. I would expect an infusion of new people in line once the workday ends. Perhaps I could manage to arrive after the morning line has all finished up but before the after-work crowd arrives.

I did come to Paris this week expressly to experience this soldes, but I want to enjoy my time here, not feel exhausted after what sounds like such unfair line behavior that is being allowed.

@DavidFincher, it seems you got inside by 9:30 a.m. What time did you arrive this morning? Were you able to wait inside the building from the time you first arrived, or was there a period of time when you were literally standing on the street? I was awake this morning at 6:00 am local time, and I considered going over then (without having gone to bed at all since my arrival yesterday afternoon) but I am going alone and I would feel unsafe waiting outside the building at all. I wonder if the port maillot doors are open 24/7 or if they have a set time they unlock the building at this main entrance.

@imoline, I am eagerly awaiting your report once you leave the soldes with DS and return to your abode to rest and post your progress for today. I am also interested what time you arrived this morning, and whether you felt safe while you were standing outside the building.

@DavidFincher, are shoes organized by size or must one look at the outside of every box in order to find one's size. It looks like your past experience served you well today as you strategized which lines to stand in first, next, and last. I cannot imagine you were able to carry all that you purchased in your arms while still looking for more pieces to add before you get to the cashier.

Is there a cashier station? Or does one look for an "SA" and follow them to wherever they go to be rung up and checked out?

Are any shopping baskets provided? I am taking a Eurosac inside my Trim bag. Must I forfeit my handbag at a checkpoint? It would be helpful if someone wrote up a section on Soldes FAQs!

OK I'm back at my air conditioned hotel and can report. It's a hot day in Paris. First the bad news: there was lots of cutting in line before the main doors open. I was there before 5 am and and waited patiently. Somehow the number of people in line ahead of me seemed to double by the time the doors opened. Hermès needs to do a better job of policing this at future sales. Even so I made it in (just) with the main group at 9 am. Headed first to belts and scored exactly what I wanted (dark brown belt strap). Boom! Then headed to homewares and bought printed couch throw with enough lime green that it will go well in my living room. Next grabbed some gloves that were exactly what I wanted (black leather with silver button). Then I went to shoes and thought about some but ended up abstaining in favour of a 140 cm cashmere/silk scarf for myself that I hadn't planned on. Did extremely well in the 90 cm scarves, I bought to the limit of 10 and they are mainly for people at work but I managed to get a Hippolis for myself (to frame) (the only Hippopolis in the whole sale they told me) as well as a Maison des Carrès for framing (they had this in several colours). Finally I got a few maxi twillies for the work crowd. So, it was an extremely successful day. Crowd control was fine once I was in the sale but it wasn't good before I got in--those line cutters should be ashamed of themselves. IMG_1499253498.558444.jpgIMG_1499253515.130618.jpg

Shoes are organised by size behind a counter, you ask the SA and they give you what you want to try on. You get big clear plastic bags to carry your stuff to checkout. You don't get a personal SA, that place is dog eat dog and not for the faint hearted. That said, the SAs are helpful when you ask their opinions.
