Last, but certainly not least, is La Maison des Carres in Rouge/Blanc/Vert and I am quite happy to have left with one of these. I saw them hiding in another client's bag, so I inquired of a friendly Mademoiselle if there might be another one under the counter. She conferred with a more senior lady, who shook her head no. However, my new BFF was able to prod her a bit more, and she then returned to me with this scarf hidden under a pile of other designs. She was very clever to take all of my prior scarves and slide them on top of La Maison before placing all of them into the magic envelope that was then rapidly whisked away by a courier. I love a good story behind a scarf, and this is certainly one I will remember. Not quite a Barenia Birkin concealed in a shopping bag, but I'll take this story nonetheless! By the way, when I told her my first name to write on the envelope, she confessed to me that it was the same name as her BFF. I told her she and I were now BFFs for today, and gave her two kisses before I departed from the 90 cm soie station.

That leaves me with but one more piece to share with you before I must go. I was captivated by the colors of this piece, and it also has a special connection to me as you shall see. Because I live in South Florida where the average year-round temperature is 77 degrees Fahrenheit, I have never had an interest in 140 cm cashmere and silk scarves. I would have very few opportunities to wear one, as I imagine it would get quite warm, and I rarely desire to feel more flushed. And these scarves are just so darn large that it seems one can never really appreciate the design because it remains concealed within the folds of however one wishes to wear it.

That said, the fact that these very bright colors were calling my name, and the connection to the opening of the new Hermes flagship in Miami's Design District, I now present to you Flamingo Party. I was able to play with it for a few minutes and decided that there must be a way to wear this piece that will showcase the full design so that the flamingos can be seen and appreciated. Perhaps worn open over a black sheath dress, showcasing the print front and center on my body. As a backup plan, it would make a glorious piece to frame and display in our subtropical home. Again, suggestions welcome! And thanks for letting me share all my adventures with Hermes Summer Soldes 2017 ;-)

140 Cashmere silk are my favorite, congrats on your haul I hope you scored a Kelly today

Sylvain, thank you for mentioning the 'S' stamp on your flats. I was expecting to see prominent 'S' markings on every item that I purchased, but if they are there I have not found them yet. On silks I think they should be on the care tag. Is that correct? I will need to revisit my pieces in better lighting, but I wonder with the volume of merchandise they had at the Soldes if perhaps in the rush to prepare everything for the Soldes it could be possible that some items do not display the 'S' stamp. Also, I did not look over my items carefully for damage and or stains, I assumed all would be first-quality merchandise. That said, I think I made a pinpoint-sized dark spot on the carré I was wearing yesterday when I stopped for ice cream around midnight near rue de Buci. That was discouraging because I am fastidious about caring for my things, but I have chosen to see that tiny flaw as part of the larger story of a very enjoyable day in Paris, somewhat like I regard my patina on box leather bags. ;)
Stillfaboulous, all my scarves are marked, below or close to the care Tag. Sometimes the ink bled onto the Sticker with the colorway- Check there first for smears. Did not Yet find the Mark on my cap, also on two ties i had shortly considered could not find it. " s" etched next to "hermes" on a flat scarfring, also did not find it Yet on the brazil one. One pair of shoes had marked each shoe, on the other pair did only find it in one shoes. Scarves are usually stamped in Black, so if faint on dark colors they are hardly visible ( on one the Sa had to point it out to me)

This piece is exquisite! Do let us know if you scored at FSH!

Lovely choices - quick off topic question - you refer to H sales - and I've seen others do the same - which countries and times of the year hold these sales - never been one here way up in Northern Europe I believe.
You might want to read through this thread. They're twice a year - January and June or July

For ppl who don't want to line up early mornings.....we went 12pm on the friday( last day to public) there was no queue to get in and the max line up for any line up inside was like 5 mins.
I am certainly too lazy to wait for hours... thanks for info, good to know. and what was still available? any scarves, shawls, shoes left? what did you get? thanks!

This might be early but does anyone know the date of the Jan 2018 sale? I've ended up with a Eurostar return spare and was thinking of using it for the sale :graucho:

French sales start January 10, 2018. It's a bit early to have the exact dates confirmed, but it will probably start on either the 10th or the 17th, probably lasting 3 days. For summer, Hermes only confirmed it one month prior to the date, so it's a bit early now. I mean, unless you can stay for a week, then definitely go Jan 10-18. For something more firm, check back in November/December.

Thanks! The last time I went it was quite a bit later I think but that was more than five years ago (20-somethingth I'm pretty sure). The trip my ticket is for is in a couple of weeks so I need to change it before I leave (or certainly before I returns) so I may just need to pick some random date to go for a daytrip instead. Does it always start on the same day of the week? Can't remember if it was Wednesday or Thursday..

Wednesday. But you have to be patient to enter at the sale the first day. Depends on what you expect to buy, but I do prefer the thursday :-)
