Sorry for the messy background. I took quick pics as I was packing. Equateur dress looks much better in person. The whole print part is like 70 scarf. Skirt is much thicker material but the top half of backside is very light wool, almost sheer. I initially chose the dress to give to ma, but sis claimed it as hers when I showed it to her. She usually thinks H rtw is for older ladies but Some animals of Equateur print are too cute looking than typical H rtw of similar style, hence she adores it.

Dear StillFabulous,

Thank you for the kind and entertaining updates on your sale experience. If I may suggest, the sentimental astrologie scarf that you gifted your mother in law and is now gifted back to you could be a beautiful piece to frame. This would preserve it and serve as a lovely reminder of her at the same time.

Cheers!

@luxurina, I wear 39.5 in shoes and my experience was different than what another tPF poster experienced. Shoes was my first stop once inside, and I found several SAs who were polite and willing to check in the back for anything not displayed on the racks for 39.5. I was looking for a black bootie I saw last year in Istanbul (I know I wrote down the name but I can no longer locate it) that fit my feet like butter on warm toast. I was hoping to perhaps find those, but the only booties they had were "clunky" styles, which I cannot wear with my large sized feet. Ironically, I bought the flat white sandals mentioned here earlier with a laurel leaf pattern. I say ironically because I very rarely wear white, and I even more rarely wear a flat open style sandal. I found the design intriguing, however, so I did decide to take them. Time will tell if I ever wear them!

Over the years I have discovered that certain pieces I was reticent about in the boutique (or carré designs gifted to me by DH) I grew more fond of over the years. I have never been able to part with any Hermes goodies I have, but I have several times considered allowing myself to let a carré or scarf ring go to someone who would give it more love than I have. I still have the first carré I purchased in 1981 for my husband's mother. Now that she is no longer with us, I have it back and I have been conflicted several times when I've vacillated about letting it go (it is an Astrologie in turquoise colorway) because I don't wear that color well, but I have not yet worked up the courage to say goodbye to a piece that is imbued with so many memories.

If they had any Orans in my size--flat or heels--I would have happily taken them, but alas, they did not. I saw only one in a pewter color, and I had to pass on that as I cannot wear that color either.

I also thought getting constellation tee was somewhat funny. Every time I saw one at H, I thought it was a bit silly looking. Yet I wanted it! LOL!! It was €196 down from €490.

Dear Sylvain,

Yes, they do allow exchanges (have done this for an exchange in size) but maybe not returns (never tried).

Good luck!

Hi everyone. Just going through my purchases and wondering whether Hermes will also put things into the sale that did not Pass quality Control. I bucht a 135cm Brides de Gala Foulard and it is some how off. It is not Square. When you fold to a triangle, the seams will not be parallel. The Foulard only has a price Tag but not the Sticker on the label starting the colorway. Since the material is softer it could be that it is prone to lose shape ( never had one of those before), but it could also be defective . I wonder, Do they accept returns or exchanges during the sales? Thanks for your advice

You should not keep something you are not confident with the quality. It is discounted but it is still a big amount of money and a defective product has to be explicitely sold as one according to the french law. I suggest you bring it back before the end of the sale.

NanamiRyu, I do understand how you feel about your purchases. Once you have expended so much effort and have built up such anticipation about how it will be to actually experience the Summer Soldes, and you see people grabbing everything in sight, it is difficile to maintain a calm head. I call it the "Live Auction Effect" because in the heat of the hunt, winning the lot can often be more compelling than whether you actually think whether that item is worth to you whatever the hammer price and Buyer's Premium will cost.

I am eager to see your RTW pieces!

And do not worry about the person at JFK. They simply have no frame of reference to understand what gives you pleasure.

Sylvain you got some lovely pieces! I tried on navy and black flats that look like the ones on the right side of your photo, but they felt a bit short at my toes, so I put them back. Part of the reason I put them back was because I was wearing black and navy flats (Prada) and I have just recently added two more pairs of navy flats (Prada) to my closet. So although my fabulous cobbler may have been able to make them work for me, there simply was no need for another pair in those colors.

They are beautifully designed and made, and I wish you many years of enjoyment from those beauties!

I am vacillating between going to the sale again today or staying in bed. I am not as rundown as yesterday, but I am still aching and it seems I am working on a head cold.

Tomorrow is Saturday and I had planned to go to FSH to see if I might leave with a Kelly.

Perhaps I should rest up some more. But there is a certain allure to challenging myself to revisit the Summer Soldes and leave without purchasing anything I do not love! Cue enablers . . .

Wow! I had no idea that locals are limited on their purchases. That does seem a bit unfair next to all the foreigners/resellers buying things in spades.
Thanks for all the reconnaissance on the 70's! I keep getting conflicting info about whether or not they are resting this size that at this point I don't know what to believe. Living vicariously through you all ;0)

I am local and i don't see any sign saying purchase limit for locals..but i didn't get many stuff so nobody said anything at the cashier either..
BTW, i do see a sign that says " no tax refund".

You are so smart to go late in the day. I truly believe that is the least maddening way to approach this event. And if you wish to go back, you could go late in the day today as well.

Which i did ... i got one tie for my husband and a 140 cm bandana turquoise silk ( same as sylvain 's). I almost took as well a stunning coat but had to stop ... i hope i won't regret it as the feel was [emoji7]... i think i do regret it already...
