We went to the province during the weekend for a double birthday celebration of my brother and a sister. I wore my Furla and I loved having her on my lap during the 2 hour road trip!

And here is the birthday cake of my sister ordered for her by her daughter, substitute for the real thing!! Lol! Photo is against a backdrop of a local scene from years back.

I really like your Furla. The leather looks so soft (I see mostly the saffiano around here and yours is so much nicer,) and is it dark gray?

That cake!!! I'm always amazed.

Love your Furla. It's very Chloe Drew alike except much less hassle free with the lock. The cake is amazing!!

Any LV experts here? In Chanel case, I was advised to buy timeless models which would stay in production in the long run so they would hold their value better when it's time to resell. How would this apply to LV? I heard that LV is limiting availability of their canvas bags and probably would phase them out eventually. I'm interested in their canvas hobo but I might have to end up selling at some point in my life if I've to move to less safe area because it doesn't have main zipper.

I just buy what I like but maybe Bake has some more insight on it.

I think you and Bake are right. Even my dd said I should keep them. I think the one I get the most nervous wearing is the azur speedy. Not because of the canvas but I hate when vachetta looks dirty so I am crazy careful. Where my de speedy I wear with no worries. Also poor Alma still has her original cardboard in it . She is s adorable but I tend to grab de speedy more. The one I won't sell for sure which I know is one not many are not fond of , but I love is the papillon 30. It looks great handheld but fits on the shoulder if I need my hands free, also it came with a mini bag.
On thing on the vachetta. I'm not that familiar with LV vachetta but it almost certain I've seen posts in which people have cleaned / refurbished vachetta to look new. So even if you don't use twillies (which aren't really my thing) perhaps you can always know you can clean the handles to like new if they get the patina from use.

The rumor is that they are focusing on more leather and leather-canvas combos so the classics are produced in lesser amounts. They still will make them though, it'll just be harder to get since the demand is still high.

There isn't confirmation of phasing out canvas completely, if ever.

If a main zipper is a necessity to make it a forever bag, there are some.

For resale, LV holds its value especially for popular bags (Pochette Metis, Palm Springs mini) but for the classics, the market is filled with them so you won't get much unless there's something special about it, such as an LE or it's a discontinued version.

I'm happy that lately Furla has been coming out with a lot of non-saffiano as I'm not really a fan of saffiano. When I was in the store, I thought too that this was gray with a greenish tint. When I already had the bag, that's when I realized it is a very light olive green color. On my desktop monitor and on my iphone, color looks true to life.

One improvement I would want on this Furla is the addition of some sort of a backing on the underside of the top portion of the flap so that it would retain it's shape (Drew like) even when only sparsely loaded.

On the cake, somebody put number candles on the front part of the holder. It's my sister's golden birthday so she was not too happy about it (jokingly). The outside of the cake is made of fondant and is very hard, I was stroking it as I would a real leather bag! Lol!
