Here's a bag that I ordered and received in July and sent back. The saga: my last name repeats the sound 'Bee' so we always have funny littlle bee references, e.g. we were the 'beehive' before that famous singer's fans adopted the name. But I've never bought stuff that had bees on it and I don't particularly relate to bees. So when Gucci came out with this particular bee bag I thought I would go for it just once. I did my typical thing of hesitating until I couldn't get the bag anymore (cruise collections disappear fast) and actually I wanted it in red but it is gone from the face of the earth. I was able to get one in brown sent from a boutique in Kentucky. When it arrived I was underwhelmed. The embroidered bee was very nice but the rest of the bag was quite unimpressive, imo, including the leather, so back it went. Here's my almost bee bag and my almost 2nd Gucci:

Aren't there more bee items with Gucci right now? Maybe those will be better?

Here is my only Gucci next to my Kindle (to show its size). An old family friend gave it to me as a gift in the 1980s when I was in middle school. He worked for Gucci in New York for many years.

This tiny cross-body bag barely holds anything. I guess I could use it as a date bag.

Great story and cute bag!

I don't wear the Sukey often. Just because I have a lot of other bags. But it is a bag that is a go-to when I can't decide on which bag to match an outfit. For instance, during our Christmas party last year, the theme for the outfit was something Christmasy. I wore a hunter green dress livened up by a Christmasy scarf. With all the colors there, I couldn't wear red, nor black, etc. But the color and style of my Sukey just fit the outfit!! There have been a lot of other instances too when this just seemed to be the right bag!

I'm envious of your YTD stats!! Enjoy your Disco!
Thanks msd_bags! The Disco is fantastic - it's lightweight, secured with a zipper, fits a lot and a comfortable bag to wear. It's perfect for traveling - I did a lot of walking on my last trip and it ticked all the boxes for me!

I'm continuing to use my Gucci tote that has needed some serious wearing for a few years now. Here she is with me at the hairdresser today, along with my sun hat and splattered shoes.

I really like your tote! More so as I am a fan of guccissima leather.

Reactions: More bags
A few months ago, I saw the all-time favorite bag of a sister of mine in Yoox. It's the M by MK Colgate, a model already several years old. She has a lot of premiere bags, but for some reason, this MK is her fave and her bag could actually be retired already since it is well used. So when I found it available in Yoox in 4 different colors. I was so excited for her! Long story short, she asked me to buy for her in another color. And then this week, same model has been further reduced at Yoox! About half of how much I got for her. So again I asked her if she wants it in another color. This time, it's her daughter (my Singapore-based niece) who wanted one. And also one for her co-worker! The point of my story - I think I am also happy buying bags for others. So I'm really wondering if it is the thrill of buying and not the bag per se that I am addicted to! :confused1::idea:

At least it is not your money you are spending this way.

As a shopaholic, there is thrill in buying things. More thrill in buying bags though lol.

You could be a personal handbag shopper! Lol

For awhile I was somewhat of a personal shopper for my family and friends.

It was fun. Not something I'd do as a full on job, but just one of the many side gigs I do when the opportunity presents itself.

It's a good way to keep a shopaholic entertained lol.

Now I'm into crafting and selling online for the moment.
That is great. Doing an outdoor event today so my Kipling bag will be on duty. Fingers crossed for no rain.

I looked at that bag and your sister has very nice taste… it's a striking bag specially in black suede, Yum! Nice to get that warm glow from doing a good deed for the folks. To be pseudoscientific and a little funny, because the pleasure pathways in our brains are so well stimulated by bag purchases, no matter who we are buying for our pathways are up and happy!

Thanks for the suggestion. I check out those bees every so often but they're all a little too much bee for me, lol, The little camera bag, otoh, was just too basic. It's the three bears without the one that's just right. I'll keep my antenna up yuk yuk.
