Thanks for your input.

I don't have a hooded trench.
I don't have a navy coat.

I can shake off water from my Sandringham (made of cotton gabardine). This is just cotton. I tested and it didn't tolerate as much water as cotton gabardine.

But I do have already
2 wool winter trench
1 Sandringham trench
1 hooded short trench rain coat (this is paper thin - doesn't keep you warm)
1 short blazer trench
All from Burberry.
+ bunches of other coats because we have 4 seasons here and winter time is often freezing (-25C/77 F)

It's always drop dead hard to make a decision between what you need and what you want. :-s
I want to keep it but I don't need it because it isn't made of cotton gabardine.

Bow down to your coat collection. [emoji144]‍♀️
I wish I had the weather to have such a great assortment!

Hm. Mine is cotton gabardine. I think you should look for a gabardine one, it really sounds like you want garbardine. I don't blame you, Burberry has great light weight water resistant trenches.

I got mine during winter sales. Since you want it to be worn during rain, the spring coats won't help much in a downpour. A light rain would be okay though.

Good question. To be honest, not much, maybe max.10 wear per year as of now unless I downsize my wardrobe again on outerwear part but that would be solely throwing money away because I don't have any non-functional coats left. I have put all trendy coats for sale or donated them already.

On the other hand, it's very hard to find a hooded trench by Burberry from the sales in work appropriate colour. It doesn't go out of style and I can wear it more often after 5 years when some of my coats are worn out. After 5 years Burberry might have increased their prices many times more and it'd be hard for me to consider buying a basic trench coat for $5k... I do remember buying a down jacket for 1/3 prices of nowadays' prices 5 years ago. If they increase prices at the same speed, this coat would cost at least $3k. :p

Omg so annoyed at the ever steady price increases.

I sold off my quilted jackets and I'm surprised that they cost more now than when I bought it.

I loaded up my first new to me trade bag and we are off to a BBQ. The funny thing is that it has so many colors on the bag it matched every solid top I pulled. She said she wore it twice but it looks and smells brand new. I couldn't be happier.

That means it's a fantastic trade!! Great job and have fun at the BBQ!!

Help me style my bag is the 6th bullet on the list. Maybe we start with that for Sunday?

A couple of suggestions, since we just did bags by color and there are so many brands, maybe we can do bags by two brands every other week (one premier and one contemporary in TPF list order) and a new topic on the alternate weeks. So:

w/o 6/18 - Help me style my bag
w/o 6/25: Balenciaga and Alexander Wang
w/o 7/9: Bag Tempations
w/o 7:16: Bottega Venetta and Botkier NY
And so on...
Sounds great!
Keep it or return it?

Bought this hooded Burberry trench for chilly and rainy autumn days from summer sale. My Sandringham trench works like a rain coat - only downfall is it doesn't have a hood. This one has it but the fabric is not fully water repellent. I thought it was like Sandringham. However, it does fit like a glove and is absolute gorgeous... On the other hand, I already have quite many jackets from Burberry and could just shop from my closet.

Any suggestion whether to keep it or not? I can't decide. :/
Part of me wants to say you should wait for one that has a hood and is water repellant but...... it's a gorgeous classic coat and I think it would be a great addition :D

I bought a lot this year. But so far, I'm loving everyone of them, except one, which although I like the look, it doesn't fit my life well. I'm lucky that she's going off to a new home soon.

Aside from that, this is another good year. I flew pass my limit, but I'm very happy with my new purchases. I'm trying to be better for the later half of the year then. [emoji28]
Being happy with your purchases is awesome! :) afterall our bags should bring joy :D

Yay! So glad to hear the trade is working out so well

Okay I finally decided on my birthday gift from DH and placed the order last night! Not in stock at my local stores so I had to place an online order, hoping that it'll arrive in time for me to unwrap on Friday, my birthday. Probably unlikely the order will process that quickly but I'm excited anyway! :D It's from the gucci blooms collection but I didn't end up choosing the key case. Can't wait to share when it arrives!

You'll be expert in layering if you live here. We have had summer days filled with snow, rain and sunshine all in the same day so weatherproof clothing comes always in handy.

It seems they have changed the material to "worse" but increased the price. :annoyed:

@msd_bags that's a great shape. I find when I have a moment to window shop, I've been eyeing saddle shapes, smaller bags, and more ladylike styles than the totes and large satchels I'm used to buying. It's a great neutral color too, great buy! And beautiful Massaccessi bags!

@dcooney4 a trade is a great way to test something out and it seems kinda fun! I've seen some random posts here and there on cl before for trades but have never tried since I didn't have the bags they were looking for, but would love to give it a shot one day. I think the print is fun!

@Hobbsy what a fun looking bag! I like the chain strap detailed.

@More bags what cute charms! And they look great on your bags. I have one charm that is designated for one bag specifically, and then I have some random charms I switch up between bags.

@papertiger beautiful bv and I love your shopper tote! For a while I was hooked with collecting cool shopper totes - my coolest one was from an mbmj special event haha.

@Mimmy what a great color scheme! I have items in those exact colors - gonna save your pic for a color inspiration in stylebook haha

@Pessie I think that's a great topic!

@ksuromax what a great looking scarf!! I love topics on Egypt and mummies; made a special trip to see the king tut exhibit in Seattle several years ago.

@ipsum I say keep it only because I purchased a trench one year and the next year they came out with pretty much the same one with a hood and i was choked that mine didn't have the hood. On another note, if you don't need it, return it, or if having too many bothers you maybe let one go? Also, I live in a very rainy city and a jacket that repels water is amazing so if this one doesn't, maybe return it cuz even if it has a hood you're not going to be comfortable if you're feeling all wet.

@eggtartapproved, sorry to hear you bought the trench a year too early. Thanks for your insight.

It's great to have critical opinions here to challenge my "wants". I'm leaning on returning since the only coat I need to buy at the moment is a hooded water repellent trench. My other rain coat trench is like a paper thin rain coat (not cotton) so it doesn't keep me warm enough during rainy days nor protect from wind.

Thank you all for your input and suggestions. Your help is higly appreciated.

It fits well, it's Burberry, it has a hood and it's gorgeous! I vote for keep! I'm a sucker for coats and jackets though, so I probably should not be giving an opinion! [emoji23]

Cool looking bag and charm, Hobbsy! Aww, your little great niece has great taste!

@eggtartapproved Feel kind of honored to have one of my photos as an inspiration pic in your Stylebook! [emoji23]

Yup, it is, i re-tied it later as a halter top to show the whole print, i could see side looks all lades were throwing at it!!
Gorgeous!

Oh no, I'm sorry, can't they do anything? On the other hand, now yours looks like the newer version. Sorry just trying to be of some comfort :hugs:
Thanks papertiger, all is good. I kept my old, flawed, original bag charm and just keep using it, worry free!

Agree that this would be fun/interesting.

Trying to post my bag charms/scarves before the week ends. I've posted most of mine, missed only a couple.
