Happy Belated Mother's Day to those who celebrate it!
Checking in. Nothing much new with me.

I wore my PS silver bag yesterday with skinny jeans and a t-shirt from my Alma mater. Absolutely not my usual look but I needed to power shop

so I got into battle gear. LOL! It was fun wearing the bag again. It's very convenient to wear crossbody which I "forgot". It definitely helped to continue to make me feel content with my silver bags. So thanks again, ladies.
I did a dry run for my packing as I've never held myself to just one carry on and a backpack for a 19 day trip.
Elation when it all fit with 25% of the room still remaining. Devastation when I checked and realized my much beloved suitcase no longer meets US and Intl size guidelines (how have I not been stopped carrying it before?)
So I bought a smaller suitcase.
I silently thanked my Daddy and pulled out every trick he had taught me on how to pack efficiently based on his time in the Navy. I rolled Items tightly, used packing cubes and compression packing envelopes, stuffed things inside each other like Russian nesting dolls, etc. to help make it all fit. Packing was complicated because we will always change into dressy wear for dinner and evening activities. It's also complicated because we'll start in Paris where it will be chilly and rainy and end in Rome which will be sunny and warm.
So, whew! I thought I'd share with you all that I managed to cram in a 20" x 14" x 9" (56 x 45 x 25) carryon. I flip flop from feeling over packed to under packed by the minute.

Everything is shades of black, white, grey, pink or turquoise to mix and match. But they all have beautiful materials or interesting design shape so I don't look blah. LOL! I plan to buy 2 silk scarves this week to add pops of color to some completely neutral outfits.

Wish me luck. LOL!
My toiletries, electronics, jewelry, snack, water bottle, kindle, etc will go in my backpack. I'm wearing my biker jacket and ballet flats with my travel outfit so I'll have those item available to mix in. I'm also carrying my LV LM II BB in my back pack along with my travel stuff. Just one "real" bag and the packable tote. Aaaaaggghhhh!!!

LOL!
I bought two interesting things I wanted to share in case you may want them for your travels.
1) White + Warren cashmere travel wrap. I've wanted one of these for a while (my BFF has several) but never got around to buying one. I got these for DD and me (I got the essential size for her because she's a tiny 5" v my
amazon 5'8". LOL!) its great because you can wear it 12 ways including as a jacket, shawl, shrug, and of course various scarf tying styles etc. (this is obviously not me in the picture)

2) Scrubba thingy. It allows you to hand wash clothes on the road better than just doing it in a hotel sink. You put your clothes, detergent (Woolite packs) and water inside. Then your knead and roll the thing to wash. This will be hilarious for DD and me to do during the trip.
3) Velcro strap. I'm putting this around my LV (vertically) since it's a flap for the few times I feel I may need extra security. It's black and with tha bag having a chain and other design elements I figure it won't be super noticeable.
