The summer colors. I will just be patient for now. The super light tote from furla was sold out in the pretty colors. I wore my speedy all day shopping and as long as a bag is light I can arm carry.

I think for summer, the Furla is a better choice than the Tods.

The Furla seems more carefree for events, you won't have to really worry about the bag as much as the Tods.

Just wait they'll restock soon, or the department stores will mark it down as well.

I cannot believe I left this bag out of metallic week

My BV Gunmetal cervo hobo. I  this bag!!!! I don't think BV have made this woven style since but they also came in other metallics like bronze (also lovely).

Now Summer is almost here it'll be back in rotation soon (hate the look with think coats)

Gorgeous BV!

View attachment 3695742 Here's my one metallic bag, a pencil case style clutch that works with everything. I think it looks dated now so I use it as a traveling jewery case a lot, and sometimes dump the jewelry into the hotel safe and turn it back to a clutch :amuse:

It's the minute after bags look dated they come magically back into fashion. In business terms "waiting 'till they're binned so they can sell all over again" :graucho:

Lol!

I spent the weekend in a dilemma that touches on some of the subjects talked about today including 'dated, coats, and buying bags lower priced bags only to find a better one (not capture the subject at hand all that well.)

I love my Hermes Trimll black hobo in Clemence leather. I think it has the prettiest slouch due to the Clemence and is just the right size and comfort for me. I've had it for a decade or more, it barely shows wear and has been in regular rotation all that time and… the sign of a loved bag ... I never buy another in that style and color to compete with it.
Soooo a red version appeared on Ann's last week in Togo leather. I bought it in a nanosecond and it arrived two days later. Then I tied myself up in paroxysms of remorse for two reasons: how dated does this bag look really? It's been out of production for more than a decade. And then I had already bought in March, a cherry red Longchamp Cuir to round out my red bags and that one looks great with my black puffer coat. I didn't need two and the LC wasn't returnable due to the price. So I drove myself crazy and then decided to KEEP the RED TRIM II. I decided so because it's a better bag, I love my black one so I know it works for me, and I don't know when I'll see another in red, if ever. I remained uncomfortable for a few days but now I'm happy as a smiley face. So here they are, my dated but loved Trims.

LOL!!! You must be physic and have Scottish blood! How can you tell from that one picture? Very close. :drinks:

The other months I'm looking out to sea (below):

...and no I'm not giving away any clues LOL.
Oh, I won't even try to guess where the "looking out to sea" photo is taken... so many coastlines possible, from Lands End to John O'Groats and many places in between! :amuse:
As for The Marches, DH has read a few books about the area, so I've seen photos. No, I'm not Scottish, and have never travelled to that part of the U.K.; only to England and Wales. Honeymooned in The Cotswolds many years ago... lovely memories!

Question for everyone. Do you ever resist buying a bag you love because you purchased a similar one for a much lower price? This could be for any reason: you bought before price increases, on sale, preloved, etc.?

I'm coming clean on my struggle with the black tote. This is why I haven't bought despite having an idea I needed one since I sold my Dior tote last June. I purchased my Chanel beige/black tote in truly excellent condition for only 14% of the retail price because I stumbled across an eBay auction that didn't rise as it should have (the seller didn't describe it or photograph it well.) So, when I sent the bag in and the authenticator verified it, I felt like I won the lottery!

Fast forward to now. Logically, I know lightening won't strike a second time. But, I'm (unrealistically) anchored by the price I paid for the bag I have. And suddenly "reasonably" priced Chanel totes (well, as reasonably priced as we can ever say they are) look like brazen highway robbery.

So, I'm curious. Have you ever gotten anchored by a serendipitous, low priced purchase you made? Do you talk yourself out of the box or do you let that be the new benchmark?

YES, just the fact that I have ever bought Hermès preloved at great prices makes the boutique price tag sting. I just psychologically detach myself from the "deals" and say, well, this is what this one costs, is it worth it to me? Yes, a new Kelly could buy me two pre-loved Kellys, but would they be the bags I want?
This is pretty much why the only Birkin I would pay full price for was my Barenia, as it's hard to find.
Can you think of your bargain purchase as a test run to prove this bag is well worth its price?

These bags are classics, WV... I don't think they will ever look "dated." Congratulations on the new red one; it is spectacular!

I think they are stunning. I love the clean lines.

What do you think of the blue and grey bag? It can fit on my shoulder if needed.
This navy bag looks nice.

First, congratulations on your new red Trim and your elegant black Trim. I saw a black Trim in a consignment store today and I think it is a timeless, elegant bag. If the corners were in better shape (vs. rubbed badly) it may have have come home with me. This style does not look dated at all to me. You know this style works for you, it's a beautiful red - congratulations on being lucky to find it and being ready to bring another Trim into your lovely collection!

These are not dated at all! Very classic with the simple lines and saturated colors!
