I absolutely regret posting my dilemma here. Sorry all. Won't bring up anything "controversial" here again.

Why? I don't think it's controversial. What to regret? We all just chim in our own point of view and no one is fighting with anyone. Am I missing something?

I know you like new things coz you said that many times and it's just your thing. Everyone has their own "things". What's wrong with that? We're not arguing to change or convert anything, right? We just share our opinion and what we really are doing if it were to be ourselves.

Don't think too much. [emoji6]

That's adorable! I love these quirky bags, they make me smile [emoji5]

If I'm much smaller and live in a big city, I'm sure I'll go broke with the Japanese designer. Tsumori Chisato is my favorite. Also Ne-net. I don't know it's good or bad I'm too big for their clothes and that the circles I'm with don't really allow me to get away with quirky clothes that much. [emoji28]

I'm wondering if handbags are still something I love. Maybe the love isn't there anymore.

But then I'm not too into clothes, especially after KonMarie-ing everything. Same with shoes. I only wear simple flats anyway, and there's only so many to have before they all seem redundant.

So that left accessories. Bags were more fun due to the functionality, but now that I'm at a point where I'm lusting after nothing, I wonder if the love is gone.

I used to be tempted by what others would show here, and although everything is nice, nothing has made me want to grab my wallet and go running for the store.

Might have gone too far in trying to be "minimal."

I'm a little slow...I didn't know what controversy @bakeacookie was talking about. I agree with all that @vink said. No worries, bakeacookie. Good discussion all around.

I used to be that person. Then I "realized" I could afford premiere bags. I was self limiting for no good reason other than I was raised by over the top thrifty people. I've never fully abandoned being thrifty but, I let myself play.

Now I buy what I want - premier bags that make me super happy. And I gave myself permission to have lots of variety within that new framework. I'd be miserable with one or two bags.

The one thing I'd love that I don't see get much airplay on TPF is truly bespoke, high end bags. Not a bag that I customize but something that is truly unique to me. Like the difference between a customized tract home and a truly custom home.

So I could say "I want a structured arm carry bag with an optional strap. It should be some sort of modified Kelly shape, not have a flap, etc. etc.". Then the craftsman would come back with sample designs and we'd go from there. The bag cost may vary on how many consultative hours I use, materials I select, etc. But at the end of the day the quality would equal that of the best brands.

It's not hard to find this option with fine jewelry. Why isn't there an elite quality handbag brand well known for this approach? Or is there and I'm just unaware?

There is. Etsy. I'm in a conversation right now with a woman in Belgium who is having that exact conversation with me.

Might be good for your wallet in the meantime? I believe our love for certain things goes on a cycle, or if not, we find other things to love. I'm also scared to find myself not wanting bags anymore sometime in the future since it is such a passion at this time, but that is reality, our passion could change.

Etsy is nice but I haven't heard of / seen anyone there who does true bespoke at a level of the top brands. The ones I've seen have nice enough product but nothing that could rival say, Hermes. And how amazing would it be to explore and own that level of quality and materials in a truly one of a kind custom bag.

It's like custom clothes. My local tailor could whip up a great looking custom men's shirt. But it won't have the level of design, materials or finishing that a shirt from Astor & Black or something made from one of the best shops on Savile Row will have.

Again, I'm happy to be educated. So, if I'm wrong, please share.

@vink - yep, I need to do a search on TPF. I'll report back if I find anything.

Yeah it's great for my wallet but I'm bored with my wardrobe.

I'm planning on getting rid of a lot more and getting something new simply because I am bored.

It's so weird to have all this funding accumulate, and have a lack of wishlist.

Perhaps the passion is changing.
