For me, I've been using the same bag since the beginning of February -- my beloved 13-year old LV Mono Speedy 25. I bought it back in 2004 and have dug it out from the closet. I had forgotten how much that I loved the size and style of the Speedy. And since it is supposed to rain all week, I'm planning on using the Speedy 25 until the weekend at the earliest.

Also, while I did get a chance to look at the Bal Mini City and discovered it does not work for me, my local LV store had to order a Speedy 20 for me to look at. I did get to see a black empreinte Speedy 25 and liked the style and feel, so if the Speedy 20 fits all of what I need to carry, I'm pretty sure that I'll be going with the Speedy 20. I also got a chance to look at the new Epi Speedy and I really do like that the zipper goes down the sides a bit -- it definitely opens up more than my old-school Epi Speedy does.

Congrats on the sales! Question for you and everyone else who sells bags: I have a number of bags that I want to get rid of, but none of them have any resale value (probably $100 or less each) and I am uncertain if it is worth the hassle of selling them or if I should just give them away or donate them to charity? So, my question is: at what monetary level does it become easier just to give away rather than sell?

$100 is my price threshold. A bag has to be worth over $100 for me to put the effort into selling.

That's why a lot of my cheaper bags and SLGs ended up being given away. The effort in selling just wasn't worth it, the joy someone had in receiving something special was. [emoji4]

4 of the 6 "purgatory" bags I've sold so far this year yielded me under $100 each after commissions. I'm still selling them because I find they add up quickly to meaningful money towards a bag I want. So I'll sell just about anything. I figure the buyer pays shipping so why not?

And selling items keeps me busy so I can't hunt things I don't need. Plus is reminds me of past poor decisions making me more determined to buy correctly in the future.

I used to sell only but the hassle and low price return gets on my nerve. For me I know I don't need the extra money from selling. As such if I know of someone who's using a beat up bag and is not one to spend on bag/ financially more tight I'll give my euc/eeuc bag to her (if she accept my offer of course). Bag that are in good but used looking condition I prefer to donate. The above applies to bag<$100+-

I think my threshold here is $30. Shipping costs me roughly $6-$10 equivalent. I had some bags gotten pre-loved that were not really in the best of conditions. I didn't want to list and describe the flaws and then risk having the buyer say this or that was not mentioned (though really I tend to rate and state very good when really it is in excellent condition, something like that). So I just gifted the bags to "appropriate" recipients. By appropriate I mean I have assessed that that person will not mind the flaws of the bag. And sometimes, I would just underprice a bag to a friend, something like a give away price. And just recently, I offered payment in several installments to a young colleague, the bag is almost $200.

I think I agree with Sparkle that little amounts add up. Getting something back also lessens the guilt in buying new bags.

Family decided they want to renovate this month and this will happen within the month so I just have to get my stuff out the way because I know they won't take as much caution as I will.

Practice for when DBF and I move out lol.

Ah... I see. The last time I got my condo renovated while I was still living in there, I scheduled it to be during DD's school vacation so we could just get away during the whole period. I was so exhausted about packing and unpacking stuff I just decided to shove everything into one closet and seal it off. Also, the vanity area. I just seriously sealed it off with plastic sheets and tape. After the work, I had the cleaning crew came in and worked in getting rid of the dust. I can pack my suitcases for the trip just fine, but moving tire me out. I've been moving around since I was a kid. I hate packing stuff for all the move. It's not fun.

Good time to practice though. ;) And a great time to start re-evaluate things in life. ;)

Um.... this is hard to tell since monetary value also depends on many factor. I'd say if the bag is value more than 2 pairs of sneakers, I'd probably bother selling it. Otherwise, I'd just give it away. But I've been known to give away things more expensive than that just because. I guess it depends on the receiver, too.

Week 1. The Browns
Bag 4 - Prada Vitello Daino in Palissandro

Oh.... I love the leather on this bag! I heard good things about the Vitello Daino, but I also heard many things about Prada that worry me. That's why I never pull the trigger. Your bag looks really really good. I wish I could touch that leather.
