That's super exciting, spark. So pleased for you!Guess what?! My gold Chanel just came in! It's perfect!
I love this bag even more seeing it again. I'm so glad I waited and got the perfect gold bag for me.This underscores to me how important it is to shop my closet, really understand my needs, be patient in my searching and then disciplined to add the exact right bags. (I can learn and stop being a dumb bunny LOL!!) I'm really loving my collection. I want to give it a big hug.
This is such a change from before my overhaul when I had a large mish mash of bags.
I have to go to a meeting so I can't take a decent picture right now but I wanted to share my happy news with my pocket friends!!! Yippee!
It's been difficult trying to find a bag worthy of a 9 month ban, much less a 3 month ban.
I see everyone's bags and none are triggering me enough to say "that's the birthday bag"
But then I want the rainbow in bags but I know I'll never use them.![]()
!
Thank you, Dear ElaineFabulous bag, and it's a great match with your top. Blue & brown and wonderful together!![]()
Essiedub, if you're thinking of taking it to Dior, you might want to do so sooner rather than later because I don't really think their support is very wide ranging compared to a brand like Chanel. The longer your bag has been discontinued, I feel like the less likely they will fix it. I took my magnolia pink Granville in to see if they could fix some loss of color on the handles and they said they couldn't because it was a seasonal color. I confirmed this was their practice on the Dior subforum and I must say that even though I love Dior, it makes me think twice about buying colours other than black or grey.
Can't wait to see!!!!!Guess what?! My gold Chanel just came in! It's perfect!

I'd say wear navy and a pop of color that isn't too bright.
Unless you're applying to somewhere super conservative, black is pretty boring and doesn't get you to stand out.
!
Go slowly. You'll know when you see one. It could be just anything.![]()
It could be. Last year was a watch lol.
But I don't need anymore watches and jewelry for now.
Thank you!Beautiful bag!
Thanks, DC! If memory serves me right, they DID have a smaller size.. oddly, this bag was very quick to be discontinued.. and i think they only had 2 or three colors in the FP store - purple, this brown, and I think a black... then a bunch of colors in the MFF versions.I wish they still made this in this color just a bit smaller for me. This is such a pretty bag.
Thanks! It's one of my faves!Love this bag, eggtartapproved! The leather is yummy.![]()
This is cute! Since getting that compact wallet in Korea and changing phones (so I can actually use apps, haha), my wallet size has downsized drastically, to the point where I think one day, it may be possible for me to get a WOC. Lately I've been carrying a cardcase in a pouch and using it as a quick way to change bags and also have a clutch for lunch during work or weekends. It's been magical lol. If this keeps up, I may consider selling some of my larger wallets.
Wow, that's amazing! And Dress for Success is a great organization, I donate to there too through an employee who benefited directly from their program.I cleaned out my closet and will donate 8 leather handbags that are all about 7 or 8 years old. All of them, remnants of my early motherhood years when I had to lug around little kid stuff, are *HUGE*.
I feel so relieved to get rid of them! They can now be loved by the women who are getting employment assistance at my local Dress for Success organization.
you're not the only one, I LOVE WIMB posts lol.I could be in he minority but I LOVE regular what's in my bag posts....just to see how everyone functions day to day. The SLG varieties, misc treasures, journals, books, and calendars I think they are fun.
Thank you! It's one of my fave bags in my collection and was sad to see it discontinued so quickly.Mmm, eggtartapproved I like this coach Alexandra very much. I dont have many(any?) bags in brown. This is lovely.
Wow, I didn't realize it was coated canvas, it realyl does look like leather. And i love the shade of gray. I think that woudl be my perfect gray shade for a bag.View attachment 3592619 My last bag for January. I have lost count..is this 15 of 15/31? Regardless, this exerise has been great. Many insights gained. I think the biggest a-ha is that, while I love small bags, the slightly larger ones work better for me. It all has to do with all the SLGs..sigh.
Well, anyway, this is Definitely a favorite. The Dior Panarea with the problem handles ( oh why didn't they do a rolled handle). This is a coated canvas, but looks like leather; very light, perfect size. This is the dove grey (I think) , but has a violet undertone. The sides can be pulled in to give it a differnt look, though I never do that . Discontinued but I think it's timeless.
But if you are looking for a crossbody for concerts and sporting events, would your considerations be too delicate for the job? In my head, concerts and sporting events mean more carefree bags, but that may be just be me hahaSo, I have identified a gap in my collection that I need to cure rather quickly. I have a small crossbody that I use for concerts and sporting events and that can also can function as a evening out bag - a Deadly Ponies Mr. Cub in black. However, I recently discovered that my new cellphone does not fit in the bag and that's a deal breaker for me. Hence, I'm now looking for a small bag that has a crossbody strap and can be used in all the ways I described above. Right now I am considering a LV Speedy 20 in black or a Balenciaga Mini City in black. Does anyone have likes or dislikes for either bag? Also, does anyone have any other bags that they would recommend I consider?
Beautiful! And I love how all you accessories match! Do you have matching ones for every bag color? I'm not disciplined enough in changing accessories to do that haha.Week 1. The Browns

Like others have suggested, i'd choose one item to stand out like a scarf. For a bag, I'd go semi, or all structured and logo-less, in a dark understated color, if not black.I'm trying to plan an interview outfit for tomorrow morning, and I'm not sure what bag to bring.
Should I avoid all colors and stick to black and white for the whole ensemble to give off the most professional crisp look or will I look like a waiter or penguin?
Everything there looks meditative... the bag, too!My first bag for all black week! My black patent single classic flap jumbo with me in the meditation room at the spa. 2 hour massage coming up!!!!View attachment 3593200
Hmmm...I'm wondering if the challenges are "serving" you. We want them to be fun and to help us think through our closets. But we don't want them to make us grumpy. Possibly should you stick to your closet and handbag buying ban but just have fun mixing and matching to find new options. Maybe your challenge is to never wear a bag with the same outfit or piece of clothing so you have new combos but more freedom.Part of what may be making this difficult for me is that I also put myself on a new-clothes ban until March to try to really remix my existing pieces and get more use from them. January was easy--everything still felt fresh, and I could wear whatever bag I wanted. But now that I have a full month under my belt with my closet challenge, AND I'm restricting which bags to wear AND I have to approach my outfit bag-first rather than clothing-first, well, it's been tougher in February.
