I’m such a lamb killer with all my toscana shearing stuff (coats, boots, etc).... I feel a bit bad but at least I bought it all off the secondary market and not new, AND I live in such a cold place that it really is super effective for lightweight warmth and I thank the lamb in my head every time!
well, lamb goes for meat, and skin/hair/fur is a kind of a sub-product and it's very good that it's used fully and not goes to waste.
besides, in your part of the world without genuine fur you won't survive the winter. :hugs:

it's Nodini
official BV name for it
they used to be made in larger size (i have one in black) but smaller is more comfy/handy, and the smaller size comes in 2 options - 1 zip and 2 zips
Thanks!

Good points. And lamb is very yummy. But, I wonder if the same animals are used for bag / coats / shoes and meat. Just a curiosity on my part.

i'm sure they get consumed/used fully and any way, if the breed is good for hair and fur, but not so good for meat, they will probably use it for processed sausages, maybe some will be used for dogs food, etc.
or, it is good source of meat, and not so good for fur, then it probably goes for those cheaper leather manufacturers to produce some cheaper stuff, like floor mats, or line the boots... at least i hope it's used to the max possible

Thanks!

Probably not.
BUT, we just switched to veganism last summer in our diets. But I already had my closet full of lamb shearling items to keep warm and toasty all winter and I’m hanging on to them! And not actually vegan in anything outside diet!
But in terms of kind of offsetting my animal-unfriendly behavior in buying fashion items made from hides, at least I’m not buying them at the grocery store every week!

veganism is too extreme for us, we (my DH, DS and myself) are big fans of fish, and if only our DD would eat (not LIKE, but at least EAT) the fish, i'd be happy to switch to vegetarian fish diet. But she hates the fish, and cooking is very challenging for me, i can't be cooking 2 different meals for us EVERY day, tho i do sometimes. It's much easier to cook meat and eat all together. sigh.... :(

I like it too, and when I’m out and about in the world and a vegan option is not easily found, I definitely eat the non vegan food here and there on occasion. But our kitchen at home and our grocery shopping is vegan. My husband is taking it so seriously and he won’t eat anything with trace dairy products. It’s not my religion so I’m not going to spend the energy trying to avoid animal products like the plague, butthat’s just what works for me at the moment....

@bakeacookie did you choose a case? I’m thinking waterproof catalyst (available in Jan) or lifeproof waterproof which is coming soon, who knows when, dog&bone has a waterproof case coming soon as well, and Otterbox Preserver is actually waterproof but not yet available either. Ghostek has one that’s now available but ghastly ugly.
I’m thinking to wait a couple weeks and then if Catalyst is still the only nicer quality case, order that and wait a few weeks to get it in January. Too bad my phone will be naked for some weeks waiting for a case! I want a family pic custom printed on it, but the etsy seller who does that only offering Otterbox commuter cases with custom photos, nothing waterproof, so.... oh well. Hope it doesn’t shatter in the first few weeks!

@ksuromax - I completely understand the only one dinner thing. I love to cook but, at one point, when my mom lived with us, I had 5 people wanting different foods for different (non critical) reasons. Uh...no. Everyone eats what the cook eats now or they are free to forage for themselves. Lol!

That being said, different people thrive on different diets. I have friends who are vegetarian or vegan and it works well for them. I also have friends with Celiac's or IBS and they have to eat very specific diets. But, most of my friends eat anything and everything.

I feel best on a plant heavy version of the Paleo diet and avoid sugar, grains, legumes & processed foods like the plague. I eat veggies, fruit, seafood / fish, poultry and most meat. I don't have a hard stance on dairy but rarely desire/eat it.

Fish / seafood are my faves
Bacon and lamb are pure heaven.
Any veggie but evil okra is yumsters :p
Beef - not so much a fan.
Tofu? I just can't. :yucky:
Rice is pure awful. I'm weird. I don't even like the look of it. <larvae>

Holidays and vacations are hard. I'll eat cookies and revive the sugar demon. Then I have to go cold turkey for a couple weeks to kill it again. :whut:

that's totally me, Seafood+fish with a bit of tomatoes, olives and fresh leaves and i will never ask for anything else! and I am nuts for nuts :D in the previous live i must have been a squirrel :D
i am more Meds eater, but that's my taste preference, not the DIET
and when kids ask me 'what ELSE is available", i always tell them - anything YOU cook.
this helps to solve the problem in 99% cases :D

Yep! Mine is a "what makes me feel good / what I like to eat" preference.

And, tomatoes and olives!! YUUUUMMMMM! Anything green (except demonic okra!)

Nuts are tasty but, I always forget to buy them for some reason

I was severely tempted by the Massaccesi Cyber Monday sale today because they have a gorgeous dark green pebbled leather on sale. It looks like the shade I’ve been looking to add to my collection.

BUT, I am not going to buy. Two things that are stopping me:

1) I can’t find a style I really like for the leather. If I chose one, I would just be settling.

2) I’m buying tires for my vehicle. In fact, they’re being put on today.

So there it goes.

Ha! When my kids don’t want what I cooked and request something else, I tell them that I’m not a one-stop diner. Grrrr...
