Got a new to me MM midi selene zip from the FB BST. It goes really well with the dress I was already wearing which is a marbled mix of red blue turquoise and red. Purple tights and royal blue cardigan hoodie. Hand painted silk scarf I picked up in Prague.

What do you think, hoodie zip is way too much with the colorful bag or no? I had planned to wear brown bag and boots with this super colorful jewel toned outfit.

I think you look great! The bag goes really well with your scarf.

So I just read in the RM subforum that Rebecca Minkoff is a long time Scientologist (she and her brother grew up in it, her father was a doctor involved in what sounds like some shady stuff).

Wow. I really don’t know what to think. I love my RM bags. I also haven’t bought anything new from them in a long time (aside from picking up a couple more Cupids because it’s my favorite bag). What would you guys do? Continue to buy? Stop shopping? Stop and sell all your bags?

Beautiful colour bag, it goes well with your outfit!

Yesterday’s look (wearing yoga clothes now, still have to decide what I’ll wear tonight [emoji4])

I’m changing up the way I put outfits in to see if this way works for me!
I like your scarf!

Today I’m wearing the same lower body wardrobe: navy blue narrow slacks with silver sneakers (not the wonderful BV though) and this navy big blouse with the op art tulips. I’m using my teeny-weeny Ferragamo Fiamma. Weather is beautiful here and I’m off to do some Thanksgiving specialty food shopping.

I wouldn’t buy any more of her products for sure. I would probably get rid of her bags, too.

Katie Holmes was smart to take Suri and leave Tom Cruise and Scientology.

Personally, I think you should let your conscious dictate how you spend your money. If this bothers you, I wouldn't buy anything else from her. I don't know that selling your items matters unless you don't want to be seen carrying the brand because you feel it's support.

If there is a business or business owner who participates in activities that offend me or my values, I won't give them my money. Sometimes it's inconvenient. But there are stores and brands I refuse to shop because of how they "move" through the world. For example, there is one department store chain I refuse to shop in because they have owners and practices with a long history of racism.

I’d sell anything from her and never buy again if I had anything from the brand.

I still have one little bag from her and I am not selling. I really like my little bag and have yet to find a replacement that is a tad bigger. The leather is yummy and it has clean lines and works great at openings.

Thanks for clarifying my feelings with your positions, they were helpful. And tenkrat, your outfit is lovely and so is your Dora, I also love your top 5 bags!

So I am going to keep my RM bags because I love them for their design and functionality, but I won’t support the brand further in terms of participating in its forum or authenticating bags. I would like to think I am an aware consumer but I’m not necessarily at the activist level. I still shop at Walmart even if I dislike their practices... but if I can support local businesses, I will try. I’m positively inclined towards cosmetic brands that are cruelty free, but I can’t say it strongly sways my shopping decisions.

It’s an interesting thought experiment to see where one’s principles stand regarding brands in history, like Coco Chanel’s Nazi links or IBM supplying the technology that enabled apartheid... I would like to say I would be principled enough to walk away from those brands... but would I really?

I think your thoughts are similar to where most of us land.

If I have a clear line of sight to a company behaving badly I'll absolutely stop buying their products. I would have never bought Chanel in the time of her association with Nazis had I been alive, had the money and knew of it.

But, I honestly don't research everything I buy. I have no clue if Del Monte tomatoes are backed by unfair labor practices or if the parent company of Jimmy Choo also owns a company that supplies blood diamonds.

It's easier to act locally - volunteer, shop local stores, donate money, etc. So, I do that. And I rely on media (which is far from perfect) to keep me up to date on the larger issues.

OK. So eBay is really going crazy. I have two items listed as BIN.

I just got an email saying that since these items were listed for more than a week they made the decision to let buyers make offers.

Uh, no. If I wanted to sell for less on these items, I would have listed for less.

So now, I need to raise the price to accommodate offers? How stupid is this? Who is the new VP trying to make a name for themselves over there?!?
