That is beautiful! Like I said, "sunshine"!I received my flax and black saddle bags today. Both were factory wrapped and shipped from stores. However, the black one came in a box that wasn't sealed. There wasn't one piece of tape holding it closed. I'm glad it made it to me. The flax saddle had so much tape on the box that it took me several minutes to remove all of it. I'm keeping both. I also ordered one in fog that's coming from JAX, not sure if I'm keeping that one or not.
Thanks! I agree...sunshineThat is beautiful! Like I said, "sunshine"!
What I love about your version is that the fringes don't hide the detailing. Keeping those two fringes on each side remind me of my rivets Dakotah crossbody that I just love. You did say the two holes aren't noticeable unless someone is really staring, right?Hi all -
I've had a few requests for photos from folks interested in some close up photos of what my saddle bags look like once the fringe is taken off. I took some photos and am including them here. Please keep in mind these are close up pictures to show detail so of course, the holes will show. IMO though, totally aren't noticeable (particularly from folks unfamiliar with the bag) at all once you are wearing it and people are just looking at it naturally. Here are photos of my mineral saddle. I'll try posting photos of my oxblood saddle in another post. Hope you find them helpful.
Thanks!
My black saddle bag had the 1941 dust bag inside of it. Did anyone else receive style 37200 with the new dust bags? The flax one had the satin one. What I love about your version is that the fringes don't hide the detailing. I've asked my husband & my SA & they both agreed that unless you knew how the bag was supposed to look, you'd never know. I would take a look at the front view of my mineral one...is it really obvious? I don't even think about it!What I love about your version is that the fringes don't hide the detailing. As for the side, I cut the fringes from there (the only ones you have to actually cut). Then, I took the smallest fringe piece & wove it through the stitches. It was just a small touch but I like it.
I know there are mixed opinions on doing this to such a high priced bag. I could wait to see if they end up at outlet but I loved the colors & style so I seized the moment & made them my own. Can't take full credit though...another post saying the fringes could be removed was what motivated me to do it. No regrets.
Yes, you could cut all of the fringes shorter. Can't say for sure but I don't think it would fray. If you are good with cutting them shorter just remember that you'll most likely be losing the added detail of the small studs at the bottom of each piece of fringe. Just something to think about. Thanks for the pics. Is it possible to cut the fringe and leave a smaller length so that you don't have the holes? Or is that what you explained above? Would the cut fringe fray or would it need to be sealed?
I really like the whipstitch without the excess fringe.
It will be interested to see what saddle bag variations coach comes up with for future bags.
Aw, thx!Your versions of the saddle bag are much better than Coach's versions. That goes to show you that they should ask on here what we think of bags before they produce them.
