Btw, do you play "white elephant" for exchanging gifts? This was what I joined with, so many times over the minimum value set. I'm glad that it was the co-worker who I shared here before as the one that I might be turning into a bag addict who won it. She had the last turn.

It's an unused RM pouch and one which I know I will not use because it will add to the weight of my bag.
I always rewrapped white elephant gifts that I know I won't use. Love the RM leather pouch. It's a beauty I'm sure she is v happy to receive it [emoji319][emoji320]

Slight dilemma here! Wanted to use the new tote today and took the stuffing out but the bag is super soft and feels like it could be easily damaged. I think the leather must be super thin. It weighs a 1lb 4oz. Light weight is good but not sure if it will work as a carefree bag.
I agree return if u are not comfortable to use it.

. ms p,

Thanks for suggestion but it needs to be actual gift. We never give each other gift cards because why spend money and still not have anything and be confined to spending at designated store. We'd rather keep our coins and just swipe the Amex when we find something we want. His swiping has to be monitored though . We are suppose to go shopping agin on Friday hopefully something comes up by then.
Jewellery that u will wear often? Or a watch?

Yes almost every party we attend every year has a white elephant exchange! You brought such a nice gift :) Sometimes I really get random things that I just want to toss cause I would feel bad rewrapping for next year lol like last year I got someone's old board game (like REALLY old and used). I usually bring something unused and new or go buy something cute.

Very interesting to read about our criteria or guidelines when looking for a bag!

Here are some of mine
1) 90% of my bags should be mini or small sized. Learnt my lesson after all the medium sized bags I sold because I never used them. I say 90% because there are times where I do need something bigger and it's nice to have options.
2) has to fit my phone, wallet and car keys. I love my minis but if it can't even fit these, then absolutely not!
3) this isn't a hard and fast rule but I try not to repeat colors, e.g only one black bag, one beige-ish bag, etc. i have a feeling I will eventually break this rule for pink!

Speaking of lightweight tote, here is my Longchamp Le Foulonne (that's what it says in the Selfridges tag and not Veau Foulonne). Finally worked out a meeting with the friend of a friend, in fact, the sister of the friend of a friend, lol! Only 1.2 lbs.

This is beautiful. Are you loving it? I know you are right about my tote. I should have completely emptied it before stating it it's a keeper. It felt so soft almost like a lamb leather. I will send it back and wait till after Christmas to see if I still need a medium size tote.

I totally fail your first criteria lol. I tend to stick to certain brands and Syles as well. The medium vs small medium shoulder bags for me is based on length of strap and what I will be using the bag for. I normally buy small medium bags to use as crossbody when traveling so they need to fit card case, phone passport etc. I have total of 3 and looking to add a 4th. I love jumbo size flaps which are imo medium size bags because they definitely can't hold a lot. These are to large to wear crossbody and strap is long so they are considered medium. What are your needs for the medium bags that you feel your lacking?

well, I need to have something in speedy-30 capacity criteria, so it is small enough but i can still putting on a scarf in it. btw jumbo is in my list, but later in 2018 hahahaha

I think I like your idea of classifying bags according to size. I will think about this more.

Maybe some Saint Laurent top handle for your medium bag?
So funny, ysl under pilati is my fave. i really really dislike slimane, though...

How does one play this? I am wondering if it is what we do at my inlaws. We each bring a new gift valued at the same amount. Then you pick numbers. First picks a package then second person can steal that gift or pick a package from the pile and so on.

Can I ask what wallet do u use? How mini or small is your bag? I use LV Sarah as my wallet. My gf commented it's too long. Many mini bags are off my list due to Sarah

How can you decide that your bags will be in medium or small-medium size? I feel I need to have bags in diffrent size (max 4 per criteria) to fulfil different needs.

Hm, my rule of thumb when buying bags are:
1. I dont have more than 4 in that size category
2. No inside divider
3. Secured closing (made exemption only for LV Noe)
4. Preferably with back pocket for easy access to phone

I only like certain brands, and especially only like certain models. For example I have balenciaga moto in part time, first, city, and thinking to buy red small city next year. Am quite boring, I guess.

By end 2016, my bag count is 19, including party clutch and 'lunchbag', but excluding 2 longchamps and fabric bags. It used to be 20, but I rehomed my Longchamp Cuir this morning following one of the question (sparkletastic?) in this thread or the 2017 thread.

My problem is I am sorely lack in medium bag category (ca. speedy 30 size). I thought Sofia Ferragamo small is in that category but turns out smaller. Any idea what other bag is in that category?
For the most part, I carry the same thing every day: small French purse style wallet, sunglasses in case, tiny makeup pouch, misc. pouch, comb, small medicine box. So I only want bags that fit these items with a little extra space for one random item if needed. Like Missie, I find the Chanel Jumbo (single not double flap) to be the perfect size. I have bags a twenty bit larger or smaller up but they are in a very tight range. I have a couple of larger bags for the odd occasion I want to carry more and a couple of smaller cross bodies for when I want to carry less. But I just counted and 18 of my 26 bags are medium size.
One other consideration is that I think this size looks best on my frame. I'm 5'8" and regularly wear heels that make me 5'11" - 6". So teeny bags look childish on me. But I'm slim so big bags can overwhelm me.

For bags for you, remind me what kinds of bags you like. Flap? Hobo? Girly? Sporty? There are so many great medium sized bags that I want to offer up suggestions thet make sense for you.
