Group question: do you miss anything you've sold/returned? bags, SLGs, accessories? Would you get the item again?

I don't. I don't remember what I've sold. I've kept meticulous records of what I've brought in, but when it comes to outs it just says "1 bag out." This was done to prevent regret by remembering what the item I let go of was. This way, I can't want to buy the item again.
Normally, I don't let go of a bag easily/impulsively so when I do sell, it is a solid decision. Sometimes, in my mind, I'd make up a decision to sell a certain bag. But when I put the bag out of its dust bag, I'd know if it is not yet time. Or, sometimes I'd deliberately procrastinate, which signals that I am not yet ready.

But, just the same, there is this one bag that I sort of regretted selling. Though I've had so many RM bags, I missed the Elephant Grey Cupid that I sold early this year. It's a little of the style, but more of the leather color. After missing it for some time, I bought a pre-loved Elephant Grey MAM that I saw in ebay - good condition and good price. I don't think I would have gotten it in Cupid again, maybe mini Cupid yes. And it is now one of my MAM keepers!!

Related to the Marc Jacobs Antonia that I mentioned to Lou a while back, I had been eyeing this boxy MJ bag for sometime in ebay. Pre-loved but in EUC. When I first saw it, it was listed auction style. I think I was the highest bidder but reserve price was not met. Then the seller did not list it for a long time. Then she did at $200 Buy it Now. I was so tempted but I was trying to be good. I even thought of asking the seller if she would consider $175 for it even if there was no Make Offer option in her listing. But, no, I was trying to be good. I think the BIN listing was for 10 days or longer. I had it in my watched item. Everyday I was checking. No one was buying. Then the listing expired. In a way I was relieved because I managed to be good! Then maybe a day or 2 after the listing expired, I checked if the seller relisted the item. Guess what!! She did, and in fact I saw that the item sold -- for $150 BIN!! I was so broken hearted!! I was willing to pay $175!! The same bag in a different color is listed in yoox.com for more than $700! But, I'm just telling myself that good things come to those who wait!! Maybe I'd find a better bag at a better time. It is sometimes hard to be good! ;)

MSD - I think there's only small and the regular one. It's one of my favorite bags!

vink - I actually bought this bag last spring but my mom loved it so I gave it to her and missed it. When DH saw it at the store he asked to be put in my order for me.

Have my tastes changed? No. I don't think so... Maybe since I joined I've been open to more brands?

Any regrets - none.

Thanks guys! The kids really had a great time. We were also with one of my close friends and her DD. Even us adults had fun watching Peppa and her fam. It feels so Christmas-y watching musicals and being around lots of kids and kids at heart, :tender:

The 2 bags I brought with me. I'm glad we brought the Gucci tote bec. after the show, we bought some stuff that were easily shoved inside it. Neat! [emoji4]
The kids look so cute watching the show. Love both the bags you are carrying.

Bake- I love all your new goodies.
As to your question about regrets I would have to say No. The things I have sold have been replaced with things that work better for me. My only regret was not buying the LV speedy mirage when I had the chance. So my question is what have you not bought and regretted it?
As far as down sizing I can only remove my pouch that holds my lip gloss and medicine if I need to carry less. As I showed last week I do not carry much.

Thank you for all the compliments on my new items. And yes, that bag was not meant for me. I'm hoping that the Herbag will cull my desire for bags for a period of time. I find myself more attracted to collecting SLGs and jewelry/watches now. A little more useful and not as hard hitting to a budget as a handbag.

There are two bags I wish I bought when given the opportunity: LV's sequin speedy (Amor has this), and asking about the Bamboo colored Herbag when someone rejected it next to me (not that it could've been mine, but I always get anxiety asking, you never know if you don't ask). They aren't meant to be. Lol.

And I'm invited to another event for the holidays according to my SA. Can't wait.

Also, we can do it all! We can be good! Resist what needs resisting. lol

I think my earlier post answers this question. It doesn't happen all the time though. :smile1:

Vink - love your flap bag as always! :) I was surprised when I moved to a smaller bag - I didn't need a lot of the daily stuff I carry. But, it is as if those little things make up my security blanket. Sometimes I feel I can't live without them.

Totally understand about the security blanket. Yesterday, I parred down my stuff so much to fit into the flap. And this morning, I added a few things in.:p I just need to have them with me. ;)

That's a nice bag. I saw it a few times on eBay in the large size, I think? I even contemplated getting it some time ago. (And it's actually the bag I think of the first thing when I saw Prada's Inside bag. Beautiful color combination, but so so so expensive.) Sometimes, a good deal come along. It's just not your time. Maybe there's a better one waiting in the future. ;)

There's a scarf I found at one museum shop when I went to Spain with my mom years ago. It's a very vibrant scarf and I really really like the painting on it. But it was so expensive for me during the time. So, I didn't get it. It's been years and I still regret not buying it.

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I'm way way behind on the thread, so I need to go back and catch up.

All is well with me...just busy.

My current bag/wallet combo - my MbMJ Hillier in Faded Aluminum that I got with my Amex Reward points, and this new Kate Spade Darla wallet in Train Car Red I got in the most recent Kate Spade sale. The duo together cost me a whopping $58. [emoji6]

In a mini wallet phase right now (so grab-n-go convenient) and love this burgundy paired with the dark gray of the bag.

Everyone ready for Thanksgiving? It's my favorite holiday so I'm totally jazzed!! [emoji2]

Lovely bag and wallet combo! What a steal! I'm also in a mini wallet phase and have been using a cles as my main wallet :) We don't have Thanksgiving here but I like seeing pictures celebrating it (plus all the crazy sales!).

Here's the bag I'll be carrying this week - my classic black MAM with blue zipper track. [emoji173]️

You inspired me to take my MAM out and used it yesterday til today.. maybe til tomorrow :smile1:

Thank you! Been trying it but not fully working. Must be my internet connection :(

Hellooo  my dear friends who I have been totally neglecting

What with work and modding I am B.U.S.Y but I had to come back and show you, because it's what brought me here. As you may remember I ordered a bag from Hermes. They are notoriously slow to get whatever in, but that's H. The problem for me was not spending the money for the special H GP before it came in

I sold a few bags, gave away another 2 (yay) but temptation was all around and succumbed to to Gucci sale bags, a vintage croc Hermes and an ostrich tote along the way (woooooops!!!!)

However, I made it. When the day came I still had just enough without totally embarrassing myself. In the end I passed on the cw I first ordered and went with what will now be called Papertiger green (or should I be now called Bamboutiger LOL?)

So here it is: my Garden Party with Quadridge lining. I was so excited I could sleep 'till 5am :cray:

Anyway, job done! Thanks so much to each and every one of you :hugs:

It's a beautiful green bag Bamboutiger, :graucho: And nice scarf too! :) I like the lining of the bag! Makes it even more beautiful!

I feel good.

I was browsing the sale on Bloomingdales (where I have a rewards credit), and I saw Longchamp cuir totes and Ferragamo flats.

I closed the window. I don't need another Longchamp tote right now. I would like a custom cuir, but waiting for the right colors. And with my 17 pairs of shoes, I definitely don't need another pair, especially in pink. I don't know where I'd use my credits right now, tbh.

Considering how bad I was today I'm not going to be banned until after my trip haha. [emoji85]

[emoji537] I feel like the next few months are like my house-bachelorette party, gotta get the fun bug out before things become serious business (and totally not trying to be offensive, but it's literally the only type of hurrah I can relate this to, haha)

I'll take you guys through my DIY mishaps and hopefully I'll be able to convert a room to a closet. [emoji4]

Don't beat yourself too hard on the weight issue. Just take your small steps of progress again. At least you didn't gain over your starting weight. But small habits. Drink water, choose the healthier option a couple times a day. You can do it!

You can order the pouch but I'm going to pass, since I went Burberry crazy today.

Post pics of your scarf again! Have you thought of framing it? I don't wear mine that often. I only wear it in the office where it's air-conditioned. Don't be afraid to wear it, H silk is very durable. I'm only cautious about water and sweat, but snags are the least of my worries. You could keep it on while at work and then take it off during your commute, considering the humidity.

I wish we could mug trade! Haha. That would be cool but I don't know if something so fragile can cross the Pacific.

Thank you for all the compliments! Turned in my final essay today so to celebrate...

Not to mention a Uniqlo order of a jacket and much needed trousers.

Though, I did go to SCP, and I was not tempted by any other bag beyond that Herbag.
I am eyeing a watch from H, but my focus seems to be on SLGs and accessories. Handbags are not on the radar right now and that's good. I feel good that I'm resisting other bags.

I'd love to see your future walk-in closet! That's also my dream, but for now I'll live vicariously through when it happens :smile1:

I went to the gym today and was pretty proud of myself for doing the routines. Wasn't easy but I completed everything. Baby steps.

If only we can be sure we'll receive the mugs in 1 piece, I would love to do a trade, hehe

Still have no time to take a pic of the H scarf. Will do soon.

Congrats on your new beautiful items! I love the monogram on the scarf. It looks luxurious! But did someone mention after 17 pairs of shoes, she doesn't need another one? :graucho: LOL!!! :roflmfao:

Group question: do you miss anything you've sold/returned? bags, SLGs, accessories? Would you get the item again?

I miss my Josephine wallet BUT I don't think I'll buy that again. I bought the old model in the Damier print with the gold button snap closure. The card slots in that model curls out and looks unsightly over the years (seen lots of pre-loved on ebay). I do not like the NM Damier with red button and the changes they made in the interior, except for the card slits that are not so prone to curling out.

Old pic, but using my MbMj bucket bag today
It's beautiful and it's unique from the bucket bags I've seen before. Does it hold a lot? I kinda miss my Petit Noe (Mono). I sold it bec. I was afraid to stain the bottom vachetta. Had the bottom been all mono, I might have kept it longer.

LVintage - funny but I only heard about Peppa the Pig from you. :graucho: Obviously, I'm not around kids, hehe. The personalized MAM is tempting, but I already have my forever black RM MAM (basketweave with green zipper track) and my deep red MAM (leather on this is tdf!). Brown I don't carry as much, in fact I just put a brown beautiful older MAB for sale. Possibility is the blue MAM, but, well, the price is a bit high. The most I paid for a MAM is $250. So I'm not sure. Btw, I also didn't know good leathers before. I remember sometime in 2007/2008, I had a nice Arrow bag. Now I realized that was synthetic leather!

My kids discovered Peppa on YT :) It's a two-dimensional cartoon show and I really wasn't entertained at first but the show grew on me maybe because I love how my DD imitates the pigs' British accent, hehe

Still thinking about the Cory pouch. You know the initials I'll likely choose for the monogram will be RM and having it in brown will match my OS MAM with siggy hardware. I just thought about the price of the pouch plus the shipping fee and with a weak peso, that's quite a lot for a pouch :(

The kids look so cute watching the show. Love both the bags you are carrying.

Thanks dc! :smile1:

Here's the multipurpose case I got as a freebies from a Japanese magazine. It's a collaboration with Paul & Joe as they use the print on the cover. It has many slots inside. I have no idea what I should use it for until I see the adaptation of a usual planner in the planner community. Now, I have my planner, a note pad, a post it, and a smaller notebook just for jotting down misc ideas in it. Quite a piece to keep me happy doodle. :)

And since I've been wanting to change into a pink bag since last week. I plan to use this bag tomorrow. :) I was so scared about getting it dirty and scratched that I have to admit I didn't have any fun carrying it at all. I like how she look, but not the color. And maybe I think her leather is too high maintenance for my daily use, but since last week I've been thinking about using a pink bag, I find myself can't stop thinking about her. So I grabbed her as soon as I packed up my stuff for this week and I feel happier than the last time I took her out. She's my bag and I should put a scratch on her by using her. Not keeping her on shelf, right? :) So, tomorrow morning, I'll take her out. :) I just can't wait. Meanwhile, tonight I'll have to think what should I cut off the haul since she can hold a lot less than the wide horn. :) She's a medium-sized Miss Dior with a long chain. (She's been discontinued for sometime. I'm kind of sad for that. I don't like Diorama that's all over the show now. :( But I have to admit that her chain isn't the most comfortable out there and the one on Diorama seems to be better in that area.) :)

I love these freebies from Japanese magazines. I used to buy these freebies from a local ebay seller. I don't know how she gets them but she sells them at fair prices. I know they should not be for sale, but I don't have access to the actual magazines and with how cute these items are, I can't resist to buy!

Lovely Dior bag! Love its sophistication! :smile1:

Maybe it's not meant to be. There will be a next time :smile1:
Congrats on staying strong!

Taking care of a 18-year-old car can be troublesome and quite draining, if the car isn't in a good shape or the owner doesn't know much about car fixing. I can understand that. :(

I stopped going to the gym when I got pregnant and just couldn't go back after that. I keep giving myself excuses that DD need someone to take care of. (We don't have a nanny and well, kids do need someone to take care of, right? ;)) Now that I'm getting older and so as DD, I need to go back to the gym, too. Not only so I can catch up with her when we're playing, it'll be good for my health, too.

I appreciate leather more when I'm older, too. Your post reminds me of when I was young and that I like nylon and fabric bags since they're very durable and so easy to take care of. I don't like PVC or synthetic much. Mostly of the "touch" of the material isn't as nice. And after I got hooked on leather and designer bags, there's no looking back. :)

Crossbody's been a staple in my wardrobe and at some point, I'd say it's my favorite style. Now that my shoulder isn't as strong, I'd say satchel is best coz it gives me an option of a handle. :) I like that I can change how I carry my bag at the moment. ;)

Don't be discourage on your weight loss. ;) Well, it's like dancing. Maybe sometimes we have too much fun and dance a little bit backward. Just get on and move up further then you'll get to your goal. ;)

A little bit update on mine. ;) The tailor said I lose a couple centimeters. Such a surprise for me coz my scale said nothing about it.

I'd love to join! I just downsize my stuff today for the Miss Dior and want to see if I can go with it for a week. I really want to lighten my load. Still, the kitchen-sink habit is just so hard to break. Everytime I want something and it's not there, I just keep telling myself, if only I still take it with me everywhere....

I hope you can get it sorted, too. ;) Mine isn't so hard. I went to see her over the weekend and hopefully just pray that she can get it done just in time. Ah... all the waiting.

I'm also after my health more that's why I returned to the gym. Been having a hard time climbing stairs or running after DD who's so full of energy all the time. The body shape and fitting into my old clothes comes second but I know it can also boost my self-confidence more. So I'm sticking to my plans this time. Slowly but surely. That's why I want to share this, bec. I have you guys to remind me to go on when I feel like giving up again.

The dressmaker hasn't updated me yet but I'll give her a ring tomorrow to know what now. I do not want to fret out on the last minutes.

I will post a pic soon of my before and after downsizing on what's in my bag. I've been carrying the same items for about a week now and I'll see if I can still downsize. But I feel like I'm carrying lightly now than before. Thanks to the pictures you posted earlier I got inspired by it.

Been in my brown OS MAM for 2 days now. I miss it and seeing eehleers use hers reminded me that I have this beauty to take out for a spin [emoji4] The color looks a bit lighter because of the sunlight.

Went to gym today and used a cloth tote bag as my gym bag. It has a magnetic snap closure button and a small open pocket near the top. Good size to hold everything I need. It's a new gym and it's not really a big one. I didn't feel the need to use a locker; I just placed it somewhere near me and my gym buddies.

Such a cuties that you have here. I like both of you bags! :)

We have Kinokuniya bookstore here which sell lots of Japanese magazines. Also, there're some other independent bookstore cater to Japanese expat, so it's not hard for me to get them. Except if it's a very popular issue like the collab with Coach to do a twilly or slim scarf. That one is so hot it sold out within days of it hitting the stand. I used to follow the blog that do update on these magazines with interesting freebies. Well, but it's been a while with DD and the work so I'm not really up to date anymore. :)

It's funny you bring up the topic of the tailor just now. My mom asked if I know what her dress and mine look like and I just remember I didn't ask the tailor to see them! All I know is that hers will be navy blue and mine will be gold. I let the tailor pick everything out for me so I have no clue. [emoji29] My mom just laugh and said I'd better make sure not to gain or lose any weight so the dress will still fit for the event. [emoji28]

Regarding of cutting the content of my bag down, I've been wearing my Miss Dior for the second day now, here're the development of my bag content. :)

The first day. No going out. Just office work and normal mom's chores.

ImageUploadedByPurseForum1448375056.570479.jpg

I have with me my schedule, my key pouch contain office's keys and condo keys, my just-found wallet, my 10-in-1 pen, my car key, and a pack of tissue paper.

The second day, normal day at the office and I think I need more sweet in life so I add a small pack of candies and a lip balm. I've been craving them so bad the first day. So, here they are. The second day content.

ImageUploadedByPurseForum1448375247.464710.jpg

I have a cultural presentation at DD school tomorrow and plan to do the cooking with the kids, so I don't think I'll take my Miss Dior tomorrow. I think I'll just grab some tote or any bags that'll leave me hands free and just make sure the Miss won't be destroyed or happen to be in any accident. ;)

So far, I think if my schedule is nothing fancy. Just a normal day at the office, I can live with very little stuff. But if I have an outside meeting then, at least I'll need my extra battery and all the Jazz. Still, somehow I feel so naked stepping out with only these stuff into the world. Ah... The comfort of knowing you have everything. :)
