Bake- I honestly do not know the answer to that. If it was this week I would say no, but who knows how things will be in two to three months. How are you feeling about it?

I am feeling I should go. I mean, my family lives in London! They aren't afraid of anything happening, and I've always felt safe in London.

I have several months to think about it, but the answer is a yes I'm going, right now.

It really is a difficult question to ponder after any situation.

Back to handbags!

So I'm still in my Bally and I think I'll switch to a Longchamp tote next. I haven't carried one in awhile.

Also, for those who like Rebecca Minkoff, there's a TPF collab! It's kinda cool.

You get to monogram your initials, choose the colors of the leather, zipper, hardware, lining.

I'm not the one who jumps at RM when I see it, but this is really cool. I like when you can put your own touch to things. :)

I've been using my black D&B since the funeral last week.

Heard from my buyer today. She's aware the bag is not currently on the factory site, but apparently she or her sister kept tabs on what the price was before it sold out and want to get it at or below that price.

Ladies, tell me if I'm missing something here, but I don't understand why she thinks she should be able to get a sold out bag for the clearance price or less. If you know it's discontinued and only available secondhand, that would drive the price up, not down. Is she being unreasonable or am I? I had my Coach Legacy Turnlock Tote in purple listed at $156 per Tradesy's suggestion. She asked me to go to $125 and I did. Is that high? Should I go down more? The bag is in excellent condition.

Thanks.

Set your price, know your minimum, and stick to it. If she won't buy at $125, after you lowered it for her, she isn't going to buy unless you drop it at a ridiculously low price. Perhaps this isn't your buyer, can you keep it listed for hopefully a better buyer?

I get people want a deal, but if it's discontinued, there's no guarantee that she'll be able to "find it cheaper."

Cole haan bags are so well made I am surprised more people don't use them like you and I. I am not much of a hobo person either . I just have the Cole Haan one.
After Coach, I went to Cole Haan. Nicely made bags! And it was my frustration of not winning an ebay auction for a lot of 5 Cole Haan bags (combination of NWT and lightly used ones) that brought me to TPF. Well not directly. I can't recall how, but that frustration introduced me to RM via ebay, and then I saw some RM listings that say TPF. So I went to TPF and got hooked!

My bag today is long-time-no-see J.W.Hulme satchel.
I love the look of this bag!

Yes. :) I've been in NYC a short time after the 9/11. I know it's normal for the Americans to continue living there, but for the non-American, it's not. :) It'll be the same when you go to London, too. :) There's an old saying in my country, when it's your time, it'll come and it won't bother you when it's not. If you really want to go, just go. ;)

Pretty bag! I like the opening!
I think you and I were in the US in 2003. I went in March, just 6 months after 9/11. I think things have settled down a bit then, but I didn't get to go inside the Statue of Liberty since it was closed for security reasons. :( Of course, I had some fear. But people I visited were going on with their lives so I was not discouraged to go. Or, maybe I was a lot younger then and was not thinking too much of the risk...

I
I'm thinking about ways to edit my stuff. This is the stuff I'm currently carrying.

The card on top right is a thumb drive. I find myself carry too many lipstick/lip balm. So I'm cutting down on those. All the small stuff are the content of my pouch. I already took out my extra battery since I rarely use them unless I go to a meeting outside my office so I can just take it on that day. I'm using 2 notebooks now coz it's the end of the year and I need to put down some appointments for next year already. But one of them will be gone by the end of the year. I don't know what I should cut next. Still thinking about that. And I don't even have any book inside my bag! [emoji29]
When I look at your stuff, there are not much extras really, maybe except for the lipsticks/balms? :graucho: In my case, since I could not further downsize, I just opted for lightweight pouches/cases, And every now and then, I take the coins out of my wallet since they definitely add to the weight (we use a lot of cash here too). Btw, I shifted to a smaller wallet a few months back for this purpose too.

Hello lovelies!

Thought you would be interested....I moved out of my LV Vernis Zippy & into my LV Epi Zippy Organizer(!) :amazed:

But really I didn't change the *types* of bags that I liked, I just got rid of versions that I didn't love, replaced some with more fashionable/grown-up versions. Or custom made straps to fix the utility of purses that I wanted to keep.

The only new rule I have for myself is no new heavy bags. I have one that is a touch too much but I love it so it stays. It just don't get worn if I'm going to be out allllll day.

As for November though....
1 purse in (!)
1 purse, 1 SLG on the chopping block...

I know that completely obliterates my "don't buy anything for a year" rule but it's something I have wanted for a very long time & I can absolutely justify the utility, the beauty and the feather light weight

Goyard St Louis PM(!) It's a beautiful burgundy color. I can't figure out how to add pix via the website & not the TPF app but I had to take the app off my phone bc it was too tempting to log in (and by extension buy purses...)

Hope y'all are having a great day!

Hi LVk8!! Nice to hear from you. :smile1: I like it when you said, "But really I didn't change the *types* of bags that I liked, I just got rid of versions that I didn't love, replaced some with more fashionable/grown-up versions." I can totally relate to this.

Congrats on your St. Louis!! The first time I saw that was on Calista Flockhart in Brothers and Sisters. Maybe 2005-ish?? I was wondering about her very simple but lovely tote. I knew it had to be expensive because otherwise it would not have been featured. She carried it a lot during the first (?) season of that show. And then, I came across that style in a flea market up north, that area being very popular for great pre-loved finds. We call that "ukay-ukay". I was so excited!! I was not sure if it was authentic though. Sellers in that area get their pre-loved stuff from container vans that are being sent from overseas. It could have been authentic, but could have been fake too. It was being sold for around $120. (I know I know) But the brand was not popular here then, so it was possible the seller did not know the value of the bag. I've often wondered if I bought that bag, and after being in tpf with an authenticate this bag thread, would that have turned out to be the greatest bargain of all?? I was willing to buy then at around $50. :graucho:

Thanks. Yeah, I'm not dropping it any more for her. I think she wants it to go down to $50 or something. I don't know what the last factory price was. But I don't think $125 is unreasonable, and I may even raise it back to the $156.

I am going unless there are other circumstances or enough people to stop me. Either way the trip was booked awhile ago and the funds are gone whether I go or not. I'm going.

If tickets are booked then I suppose you would feel like you have to go. But I think when the vacation date is near, you'd know what will be best.

I like this! Thanks for posting! And it's likely these are Made in NY bags and made from lovely leathers. I already have my forever black RM (basketweave with green zipper track), and from the choices, it is only blue that I don't have (already sold my Navy blue MAM). But somehow my love for blue bags (any brand in general) has dwindled. Plus the price is already a bit more than I am willing to pay for a MAM. If they offered this sooner...;)

I agree with Bake, you have to set your price limit. I have experienced the same in selling in our local ebay. There are offers I can handle, but there are some that I just had to put my foot down. I'm sure another buyer will come along.

Yeah that's just not going to happen. $50 for an excellent condition bag.

Hold firm or go back to your original price. Good luck, hope you get a better buyer.

Yes, I'm continuing my plans and efforts to go, and when the day comes I'll know for sure. I should stop booking so crazy far in advance haha. But the trip was so cheap in comparison to my prior visits I booked it as soon as I saw it. But since I'm needing to save for a house, I can't be so impulsive in fun things anymore.

I'm actually tempted for a RM now! There's black hardware and cobalt! If it's made in NY, I think I'd ask for this as a Christmas gift. That would really sell it to me. It's hard to find made in the US now. :(

I have my limits on price because if I wanted to give it away, I would want to give it away on my own terms and to people who would appreciate it.

I have been on break since Tuesday (Thursday mid-morning here now.). I'm wondering if I've made productive use of my time. Tuesday I went to the office mid-morning and brought lunch for some of my staff that were working overtime. Then I went to the beauty salon for some hair treatment and haircut. Then I filed my service application with a different internet service provider. I don't know what is happening with my current internet service. I've reported it 2x and they've checked 2x, and they say there's no problem. I've noticed daily that nearing 6pm I start getting intermittent connection, even more so by 9pm. I have to restart my modem everytime. I am really wondering if somebody is stealing my connection?? (Is this even possible?) Of course the service people come during work hours that is why they don't see any problem. That night, I rearranged some of my bags.

Anyway, 2nd day of my break, I went on a cleanup mode from 9am-3pm. Then I was so tired I stopped for the day, haha! I sorted through 2 side tables with 3 drawers each and 3 other small storage areas in my closet. I could not believe all the junk I managed to store in them. I threw away 2 mid-sized trash can full of junk.

Today, third day, I'm supposed to go over my clothes. I exercised first upon waking up. Now I'm tired, haha, and delaying doing my task. :graucho:

Yes, someone could be connecting to your internet if there is no password or the password is weak. Maybe your modem is getting old? I'm not too tech savvy, so I may be using the wrong terms and stuff. Anyway, hope you get that resolved.

I'm actually excited for the long thanksgiving weekend because I so want to clean! Haha. I hope I don't get lazy and just want to cook and shop that weekend. Great job cleaning though! Sounds like you made great progress! Keep it up and tackle that closet!

I'll check in the RM thread if this is made in NY. Until early last year or maybe late 2013, they offered made in NY black basketweave MAMs with choices of zipper tracks - green, fuchsia, purple and red. Wait, there was blue. And I know there were just 4. I don't know which one is not right. :smile1:

Lol! Report back! Where's Jenny? She likes this brand too!
