Oh, I do like my petit h charm, so I'm keeping it. But the other surprises are too expensive so I've never bought them.

I'm currently editing my closet again, so clothes and shoes are going off to be sold.

I've also decided to let go of my paperback books as I've preferred the kindle app on my ipad/iphone. Also selling my few games left from PC and my Nintendo DS.

Last is my jewelry, SLGs, and handbags. Again, I doubt I'd be willing to pay the more expensive price to replace them later on, so I'm holding on to them. Especially since selling and costume jewelry bags doesn't yield much money back.

I doubt I'll even make a dent in my goal by selling my things, but at least money would be in savings. The real progress is going to come from my salary and overtime. DBF is really discouraging me selling my things though, so I'm a little conflicted.

Wow! That's a lot of downsizing. Just make sure you don't make yourself feel deprive coz when coupled with stress, that's not a good thing. You may lose it and come out in an even worse shape and it'll just end up being a discouragement.

If you have already downsized a lot . Perhaps selling is not much help. How about making monthly financial goals. Make sure they are truly doable. If you make it to high you will be disappointed and upset. It you make it a reasonable percentage and then when you exceed it from time to time you will feel fantastic.

I'd second this. And cut down on misc spending. It does help coz the small number does add up. Same old thing, but it does help. A small indulgence once in a while is fine for encouragement, but not too often. ;)

Have your tastes for bags changed much in the last year or two? I know I used to buy bags that were very practical sturdy thick heavy leather because I wanted them to last a life time. Now I buy things that are still practical but pretty too. Also no really heavy bags anymore. How about you?

My taste is still very wide spread and all over the place, I think. Things I'm sure about myself is
1) I prefer low-maintenance bag. I really use my bag and stuff it so anything so high maintenance get me nervous.
2) I'm not good with handheld. I'm better than before, but I still need longer strap so I can put it on my shoulder, too. But I can't put them only on my shoulder alone anymore since sometimes they get so heavy. Now, a satchel is my fave style. It's used to be Crossbody though.
3) everything must be pretty. I can't handle the utility look for too long. That's why my backpack stage is so short lived. :)
4) I can't handle a heavy bag as good as I used to. That's why I'm cutting down on stuff I'm carrying.
5) I still like color. I'm not good with plain black bag. And even with solid color, I need my bags to have texture or some contrast on it. A pebble on the leather, a line, quilting, anything. Plain things look boring and scary to me.
6) I'm still scared of monogram or logo, but I can handle the quilting or signature style. Anything with no logo on it is ok.
7) my preference in sizing hasn't changed. I still prefer medium-large bag. About 12-13" long is a good size for me proportion-wise and capacity-wise.
8) I prefer my bags waterproof or at least water repellent, so leather is preferred.

I feel like there's more, but I can't think of right now. :)

Still in my Bally bag.

Honest opinion needed from you all:

Considering the latest events occurring in Paris, would you still take a trip to London?

Yes. :) I've been in NYC a short time after the 9/11. I know it's normal for the Americans to continue living there, but for the non-American, it's not. :) It'll be the same when you go to London, too. :) There's an old saying in my country, when it's your time, it'll come and it won't bother you when it's not. If you really want to go, just go. ;)

My bag today is long-time-no-see J.W.Hulme satchel.

Pretty bag! I like the opening!

I'm still in my wide horn. Sorry for a dark photo. It's very late right now and I don't want the light to disturb DD in the next room. She's very sensitive. [emoji28]

I'm thinking about ways to edit my stuff. This is the stuff I'm currently carrying.

ImageUploadedByPurseForum1447867546.340235.jpg

The card on top right is a thumb drive. I find myself carry too many lipstick/lip balm. So I'm cutting down on those. All the small stuff are the content of my pouch. I already took out my extra battery since I rarely use them unless I go to a meeting outside my office so I can just take it on that day. I'm using 2 notebooks now coz it's the end of the year and I need to put down some appointments for next year already. But one of them will be gone by the end of the year. I don't know what I should cut next. Still thinking about that. And I don't even have any book inside my bag! [emoji29]

Hello lovelies!

Thought you would be interested....I moved out of my LV Vernis Zippy & into my LV Epi Zippy Organizer(!) :amazed:

My job has given me way too many cards so I needed the extra slottage. The One is currently sleeping in its dust bag for the time being but she stays in my closet! TOO PRETTY. I love it so much, but for now I need the function. Plus my Zippy Organizer makes me happy every time I open it bc it's Cassis so it's purple on the outside & pink on the inside

LV just makes the best wallets :hbeat:

Not really so much. Well maybe that's wrong bc I joined TPF in Jan 2014 & really overhauled my purses so yeah I guess I have changed it up the last two years - I prob had in the neighborhood of 30, including cheapie bags from wherever - and went total pirate on my closet which has still held true. If I don't love it, it walks the plank!

But really I didn't change the *types* of bags that I liked, I just got rid of versions that I didn't love, replaced some with more fashionable/grown-up versions. Or custom made straps to fix the utility of purses that I wanted to keep.

The only new rule I have for myself is no new heavy bags. I have one that is a touch too much but I love it so it stays. It just don't get worn if I'm going to be out allllll day.

As for November though....
1 purse in (!)
1 purse, 1 SLG on the chopping block...

I know that completely obliterates my "don't buy anything for a year" rule but it's something I have wanted for a very long time & I can absolutely justify the utility, the beauty and the feather light weight

Goyard St Louis PM(!) It's a beautiful burgundy color. I can't figure out how to add pix via the website & not the TPF app but I had to take the app off my phone bc it was too tempting to log in (and by extension buy purses...)

I have a NF GM that I use primarily for travel and wanted a smaller upscale tote that would fit a laptop, files & be a good go-to work bag. I used to use my MJ Stella for that reason but gave her away (my first!) a couple months back because she was truly too heavy, especially loaded with a lappy and files. Also I had her for 10+ years, it was time to let go...

I considered a NF PM except I didn't really want two of the same bag, even if I picked a different print. I loveeeeeee the Goyard St Louis & have for ages. I'm the insane person who compliments ladies I don't know wearing Goyards on the street. I have been searching for more than a year for one in good condition on consignment but I couldn't find a color / condition combo that was good enough for the price bc they're not much less expensive if you find them on Fashionphile or whatever. And I definitely don't know the tells well enough - even after spelunking through the Goyard forum here - to have comfort buying from a private party like I would for LV.

So I was in San Francisco for work for the last week (on wifi on the plane back to TX now) & walked by the Goyard store yesterday. I could not resist walking in...and bringing a souvenir home! There aren't many Goyard stores in the US so figured I should take the opportunity while there was an opportunity

As for giveaways....goodbye, Gucci Treasure Flap & LV Epi business card holder. It would have taken too much modification to get a long adjustable strap for the Flap, plus it's a touch too small to fit my laptop (11" Macbook). And I have a purple metal business card holder that I prefer to the LV so may as well put that into the cool girl pile for someone who is digging through consignment shops. And I nearly always use my cles instead of the b.card holder if I'm just running out with an ID & debit card so it's truly a not need in my wardrobe.

Hope y'all are having a great day!

Oh and in terms of full count, I have 10 purses & 9 SLGs now after buying the Goyard & giving away the Gucci & LV SLG. I feel like 10 is a good number. I've said 15 in the past but 15 was really too many, 10 is more workable for my wardrobe.

I think maybe when I have some downtime I should post a bag showcase thread, I think that will also help me stick to my guns and be accountable since I'd have to update THAT if I made any more changes!

Glad to hear from you! Your new bag sounds lovely! It's ok not to have photo. Hearing from you is good enough. ;) I hope you're having a good time with your new job. :) Goyard is very hard to spot the fake, I've heard, so I agree it must be better to buy it directly from store. I can kinda help you justify it, too. ;) Yay for the new purchase and use it in good health! ;)

HEY! great to hear from you! And congrats on your new bag! Having seen a number of Goyards on this thread, I am becoming a fan!

Cole haan bags are so well made I am surprised more people don't use them like you and I. I am not much of a hobo person either . I just have the Cole Haan one.
Agreed! They are extremely durable and I think I'll be using the same ones I have for many many years. I think they get looked over because maybe the seem sort of plain? and for the price point, you can get a bag from a wide variety of other designers - but they really have the quality in their bags that will last for so long. Lately I get the feeling they are trying to appeal to a different audience, with the label change (I think they've changed 2-3 times since I started with the brand).

Very pretty bags dc and egg!

My bag today is long-time-no-see J.W.Hulme satchel.

Loving you're bag and delighted to see its insides lol.. i love 'what's in my bag posts' haha.. cousins on the lesportsac pouch! I agree with you on the lip balms, I am down to 1.

Oh I can't wait to see your Goyard! I've been wanting to see their boutique in SF!

Great job in getting your collection to be completely functional and stylish!

You can never know what and where something can happen, so if you feel safe and comfortable going, then you should go. London would be fun!
This is so true. Anything can happen anywhere. I'm going to go and enjoy myself! :)

Thanks all for the input.
