2015 resolution - shopping from my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

Hi, I would like to join for 2015 :smile1: I currently have 2 closets full of stuff and only wear/use about 20 percent of it. These are my resolutions:

1. Buy no clothing at all. I have so much clothing. I posted about this on the decluttering thread too. I need to work with what I have, and hopefully lose a bit of weight and expand the range of what I wear as a result. The only exception to this resolution is bras, if I can lose enough weight to need new ones.

2. Buy no accessories and use the ones I have. I only have about 8 - 10 purses, and like the ones that I have. But I rarely carry them. I feel like I need to put myself together adequately before I can carry a purse, and I hit that standard rarely. Plus I carry a big tote at work. I need to use them or sell them - my closet isn't a purse museum!

3. Get rid of all unworn items at the end of 2015. The only exception to this might be a formal dress or something rarely worn (fancy clutch) that still fits. Everything else goes.

4. Photograph outfits daily. This will help me to learn what looks good and what I do wear in order to make better decisions in the future.

5. Build Pandora bracelet 10 pounds at a time. With each 10 pounds I lose, I get a new bead. I will post pics of it as it grows - it is empty now as I just got it! I really want my first bead to be a cat because my sweet cat just passed away this week. It motivates me to work hard - I want a memento that always reminds me that my sweet kitty is still with me.

Those are my goals! They might seem a little extreme, but I want to make big changes this year. Thank you for letting me participate here - I hope to support others too!
These are great goals. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm a kitty lover too!

I wish you the best of luck with your grand plan

I'm sorry about your dear kitty. I love the Pandora idea to honor your kitty and all of your hard work.

My goals for 2015 are:

1) To only buy shoes to replace worn ones. This is a hard one for me. I love shoes even more than I love bags.
2) No more bags. I have enough bags, even though it never seems that way when I spy a "good deal" on a lovely bag.
3) Clean out my closet of things I don't use, even if they cost a lot and I feel bad about it. I need to give those things to people who will use them.
4) Stop impulse buying, even at the thrift shop. I *need* very little. I *want* seemingly everything that I deem a "good deal".

I spent part of this year weeding out my house, donating items, working with shelters and selling several bags that I no longer carried. I feel that I'm in a really good place right now.

So, my goal for 2015 is not to screw it up!

My goal this coming year is to now really shop my closet and enjoy what I have. This means I won't be popping into the outlets as often to check out sales because there are always great sales. I am considering possibly a NF or some other alternative for the year (the price is just putting me off although I think it would be a very useful bag), and Mansur Gavriel is a wild card because I love mine and they are so hard to come by, so if I get lucky, I will likely take advantage of it.

So, while I am not saying no purchases, I am committing to thoughtful ones, and if there are a couple more bags I can sell, I might do that, too, although I'm really now down to the ones I love the most. Each one I have is one I will use in some capacity and love in terms of style and function.

Good luck to everyone this coming year!

Hi everyone,

I have been reading all your 2014 posts quietly, and felt I am acquainted with a lot of you. I want to join this 2015 thread, as I looked at my closet over the weekend and felt "hopeless"! I think I really need your support to only shop in my closet this new year. Gosh, I still have bags and shoes with tags on purchased in the last two years. They haven't even seen the daylight in the past two years.

So here is my 2015 new year resolution - no more bags / shoes shopping at all, enjoy and rotates my bags more often and sell off bags/shoes I no longer use, even though I love them so much. I even told my DH this new year resolution, and he chuckled in a funny way.

This is a big commitment for a bag lover. I hope to get moral support from you to resist any temptation coming my way!!

Happy holidays to all of you! Cheers!

Great goals - I found that if I'm not saying 'no' but saying yes to 'thoughtful' I do a lot better. The idea of 'no' sets me off, and then I just buy stuff lol.

I will help to support you - I have similar goals, no shopping next year. We can do it! :smile1:

Thanks, lilpursekitty! I figure it is earlier to meet the goal with a troop of support! Yes, we can do it!!

Me too - no bags next year. I bought three this year (all preloved and I sold other bags to fund them) - two Chanel and a Saint Laurent. I need to stay away from reveal threads as they just create 'the wants' in me. I am going to start using and enjoying what I have now.

They sound beautiful! The "clubhouse" threads are what get me - when I keep on seeing the same bag over and over, it makes me want it :S
