Here is a question , what bag do you reach most? It does not need to cost much and it still counts even a canvas tote etc. Just curious to see what really gets used the most. For me lately it is whatever crossbody goes with what I have on. What about you?

Historically, my large navy le pliage. Recently, my Mansur Gavriel large tote since I carry it every work day.

Crossbody, that's why I am planning to buy one in neutral, like in black next.

Btw, I am seeing that backback is coming back into fashion. What is your opinion - yes or no? I used to wear one in university but now can't imagine doing that any more. Only for traveling.

I'm convinced I can't pull off a backpack purse, plus it reminds me of one of my first purses-a plaid mini backpack purse that I had in fifth grade when the mini backpacks were trendy. I do like some of them though, like the Mansur Gavriel ones.

I did receive a purse for Christmas that can convert to a backpack style, so I suppose it's a good way to test the waters.

I'm really enjoying reading everyone's thoughts and goals for the year ahead, I brought quite a lot last year without much though as to what I really needed (I don't NEED anything) and to be honest I'm feeling abit flat and bored of thinking where's the next purchase coming from what sales bargins can I find! It's exhausting, so I've made a list of things for this year.

Chanel cerf

Ysl chyc

Mulberry willow

Alexander McQueen scarf

LV neverfull

Tiffany arrow bracelet

Black jeans

Simple!! I do need a small clutch for evening and a new purse but the items above have been spinning round my head for ages, it's good to have a list to work too and (try) to stick too, I'm good at clearing my. Wardrobe but to be honest I still don't like what I have, I'm thinking of getting my colours done and having a style day ect to sort me out!!

Not sure if I've contributed to your thread or just rambled on, feels good to have it all written down though

I am 5' 9" . I am open to other dressier crossbody options as well. My main requirements are that it is comfortable on the shoulder and easy to take care of and use. I do not want buy anything yet. I want to think about it for a while. Half the time I think the research is more fun then the actual purchase or the hunt. Do you enjoy researching bags and finding them at a decent price or are you more into instant gratification when you buy bags?

I am a little bit of both. I like researching, but I'm also with instant gratification up to a certain price.

I also like crossbody as my go to.

I just bought before Christmas a backpack from Henri Bendel and love it. It is convertible though so it can be hand held or the straps make it crossbody. I have a friend that wears nothing but elegant backpacks . I do not think most people would buy them , but when I need to carry a lot and walk a lot I like a cute backpack.

Yes, I remember that bag, it was pretty! But I would probably wear it other way.

Hello, am I ok to join late

I started buying my first designer bag in 2012, just one a Michael Kors, managed perfectly fine...and then bam! 2013 halfway through the year the addiction started and I bought 15. These were mainly Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lulu Guinness so it didn't get too bad.

Then 2014 started, and it was 28. The prices had also risen, with a few being Mulberry's, and I made my first LV bag purchase. Looking down the list I'm not quite sure why I was making so many purchases, I think maybe it was the rush of buying, and quite possibly a self esteem thing. I'd always been great at saving but for the first time I found myself in my overdraft, and I did not like it!

I need to realise that I do not NEED so many bags, and my current lifestyle (university healthcare course) is not the right time to be making so many purchases.

I've gone through my bag list, and have chosen bags to consign.

I have 18 bags going into 2015 that I'm keeping, 2 currently unworn.

1 Longchamp, 1 Louis Vuitton, 1 Lulu Guinness, 1 Rebecca Minkoff, 1 Kipling, 1 Eastpak, 1 Leather Satchel Company, 1 Zatchels, 2 Cath Kidstons, 3 Marc by Marc Jacobs, 5 Mulberry's.

I have enough practical ones for uni placements, but enough for me to still have a nice bag collection for weekends .

I've decided on a bag wish list;

Mulberry Bayswater Black with Nickel hardware.

Mulberry Bayswater Oxblood, NVT leather.

Mulberry Small Del Rey Black Nickel hardware.

LV Speedy Bandouliere Damier Ebene either 25 or 30 (probably 30).

Longchamp long handled Le pliage bilberry.

Clothes wise I'd like some knee length leather boots, maybe some short black Frye biker boots, some black leather brogues and some new Uggs. I'll probably need new jeans, and a new cashmere cardigan. I'd like a small purse, but unsure of brand.

I'm going to try really hard to not get too obsessed with buying, and make much less purchases, on bags, clothes, and my other vice, make up and toiletries.

How do you all store your spare wallets and slgs?
I store all of mine in their original boxes and they go into a bigger box - my DH laughs at me because I like to put things in things... I very much do! haha

thank you eggtartapproved! i love chanel and i initially wanted to stay away from the chanel forum but i knew that like a diet, it won't work if i practice too strictly :smile1: i will take it one step at a time. i told my boyfriend (and that's a big step!) that i will limit my chanel spending on SLGs but only for items that i need and have planned to buy anyway (maybe a kisslock too :graucho:). i visit the chanel forum to look and i enjoy just looking. i hope it stays this way.

btw, i was at my local chanel boutique to check out the sale and to wish the crew a happy new year. i am so proud of myself that i did not end up buying two boots that caught my attention. i only bought a small card holder and a bottle of perfume. i am feeling happy about myself :happydance:
Way to go for resisting! and congrats on ur small purchase =)

I will still be purchasing bags, but just not in this huge slew like I did in 2013/2014. Also, if I notice that a bag is not being used, it's gone to sell, give away or consign. I would rather lose up front then having it sit for months on end. I'm looking for the perfect SLG similar to the LV Cles, only in leather and perhaps a nice gold color. But I'm holding out for when one of the designers release it.
That sounds like a solid plan - I think the key to succeeding is really just realistic goals. I used to say no bags, but who was I kidding? And now that my collection is where it is, I think it's more realistic now to say no bags or maybe a trade for style. At least now I have a much better idea of what I'm looking for

I've decided to track my use of handbags using Excel. At the end of the year those that don't get used enough (or not used at all) would have to go.
I started doing this last year, with all my purchases and it's a real eye-opener. I just set up my 2015 spreadsheet.

All the bags pictured are lovely! I can't seem to figure out how to post pics, and my phone cam really isn't the greatest. (Not a smartphone). But I checked the tag on my Coach and it's the Madison Carlyle shoulder in black leather. And since I'm having my first granddaughter in March and her name is going to be Madison, it must have been meant to be:). Now I don't feel quite so guilty. But I'm still resolved no more bags until April. Heaven help me if I see one of my HG's on Yoogi's though. As for storage, they're on the top closet shelves in my bedroom and a few in the extra br. I keep them in the dust bags, most have some of the stuffing in them, I usually take out some of it though. My bed is a platform with six storage drawers, also with bags in them. My Vera totes are folded on the closet shelf. I don't have too many wallets, the extras are in a small dresser drawer.
That's a beautiful bag! and congrats on your first grand daughter! =)

Good grief... page 21 on day 3!!! Guess were at the same pace as the last year's thread!

Before I start catching up, here is what I carried yesterday. My trusty black LC for yet another rainy day! We all went to the mall to check out the sales and the kids wanted to spend some of their xmas money. Hubs was driving so I took a few quick pics in the car... my bag and it's contents.
great choice, and there she is, the ZCP... =P

I assume zcp = zippy coin purse? And that's your main wallet? I would like to pick up a new wallet this year and was thinking of the zippy compact. But I'm thinking the zippy coin purse would probably serve my needs and is much cheaper.
