Can't recommend the 19 enough, on every level. Was briefly caught in the rain today with my black goatskin 19. No issues at all. As mentioned, the coating likely helps here!
Thank you so much for your message and for confirming! :hbeat: This bag is now definitely on my WL for the next year!:love: Will ask my SA to try her on the next time I'm near the boutique ;-)

View attachment 5278736A few months ago I stopped into the Chanel boutique within a Nieman Marcus just “to look” and I told the SA that I had a classic flap and that I would like eventually like to get an every day bag, probably a small rectangular. She asked me about my lifestyle and whether I am a mom (I am). She said wait here….and went and pulled out this Chanel 19 and said THIS is much better as an every day bag because it fits so much more. I tried it on. DANGEROUS MOVE. And fell in love! I haven’t used it all that much since buying it but in the last week it has finally turned into my every day bag. Still so glad I made that completely unplanned purchase!
Can you please let us know if your bag is Lambskin (I assume it is as you bought it a few months ago) I bought the same black 19 in June in lambskin (my SA said no more goatskin) would love to know how lambskin holds up ( I have only worn on a few occasions but would love to wear more)

Yes mine is a lambskin and so Far so good. I Am Definitely very careful with it but I think I need another 6 months of wear to give a good review on wear and tear. I do however think it’s one of the very best every day Chanel bags out there!

I don’t use my lambskin Chanels in bad weather either. But goatskin is very different from lambskin. That’s why I’m glad I got the goatskin. I would not have bought the 19 in lambskin as the surface area is too big and more prone to scratches and wear than i.e a Classic Flap…
I had a mini in lambskin and yes, it got scratches very easily, but nothing ever happened to it in the rain or snow. I did use it as a daily for a long time, and didn't baby it at all. 19 with its coating is a total different story, so I'm not afraid either. But thats's me - bags are just bags, not museum exhibits, and are meant to be used with confidence, and bring joy, not stress:smile:

IMO lambskin also tends to age better than goat in this model, wrinkles less, and overall looks better - but this is of course individual.

I agree my lambskin has no winkles - just look at the used goatskin 19’s on fashionphile. I know goaskin maybe a little more durable but My SA still says it will still show scratches - but I just prefer the look of lambskin for the 19 -however any Chanel I have even caviar - I don’t wear in the rain or snow but thats just me.

Yeah, seen some 19 in goatskin that didn’t age well. I had mine for a bit over a year now and it still looks the same as on the day I got it, as I’m using a bag shaper and a bag organizer and stuff it, when not in use. I also rotate my bags regularly, so, I’d say, it depends on how well one takes care of their bags.

That’s a good point. We spend all that money….we need to enjoy them! I fell the same way about jewelry.

Got a preloved light beige but not sure from what season.. for serial starting with 3015 would anyone know if it's from 21P or other season? am checking if the interior color is correct.. i like the color but do find the goatskin to be a bit tough kind of leather - do you find that to be true as well?

If it’s goatskin, then it’s unlikely 21P. It’s probably from 20A (or one of the seasons just before or after 20A) since it’s also a 30-series with a serial sticker and without chip, correct?

Oh I am just learning about Chanel 19 - so goatskin came out earlier you mean? If it's 20A great I can narrow down looking for one with similar interior fabric (dark beige) as mine and not peachy beige .. yes this is with serial sticker beginning with #3015.... i was hoping to identify the season thru the serial number also, if others can chime in as well. Thanks so much @Kayceedee88 for the input!
