1 Ct Diamond Studs Dilemma

I think it is really DUMB for people coming to your thread to advocate buying non-brand jewelry is better, which you already purchased Tiffany diamond studs for your wife.

Not to say people will never understand why we threw hundreds of thousand dollars buying only a few Hermes bags. The mentality and sense of worth, are not in same page.

No problem for me. I never wanted to buy these to let people see these were Tiffany studs. I think it’s clear. When I buy my wife’s jewelry it’s never for anyone else, just for her and I.

Sure some things you can’t help notice the brand like her bulgari and vca items. Tiffany lovers will know her e ring but the other stuff no one will know.

But yes this is a Tiffany forum so I posted it here. Got lots of great advice and tips so thanks to those of you.

I will present these to her at the blue box cafe so it will be special. I’ll post pics, hopefully she will love them and want to keep them [emoji3]

Thank you to everyone that chimed in. I really appreciate the time people took.

I took away some good advice and tips here.

However at the end of the day I went for these 1.03 each I VVS2 triple excellent.

I could have gotten a better color but the price was just jumping $10/20/30k.

At that price I don’t want to buy just studs. Sounds crazy I know.

For me these are incredible. At the store I was in natural lighting near the doors, diamond lights, overhead lights, etc. they just look like water. I’m sure the others do as well but again the discrepancy for the same specs from other jewelers wasn’t that crazy relative in this price range.

Went through a range of diamonds from D to J.

Took the specs and used the HCA calculator and it’s showing excellent on one and excellent and very good on the other.

I am going to surprise her with these and hopefully she just falls in love with them. I do have 30 days but don’t want to return them. These are something she can wear everyday and can pass down to our daughter.

I think there will always be a discussion on whether or not these big brands are worth the extra cost. Tiffany, Cartier, Harry Winston, etc.

I guess it comes down to preference. Tiffany won’t sell low quality, they stand behind their product and it gives me total confidence to purchase these and other items.

Thank you again everyone! View attachment 4155526View attachment 4155527View attachment 4155528

These are lovely! I would be thrilled to get these - hopefully your wife will have the same reaction!

Ooops... I did not mean to say you are "DUMB"...just try to point out that advocating buying non-Tiffany jewelry in Tiffany forum, especially in this particular thread that OP had already mentioned it loud that he was planning and did purchase Tiffany only earring for his wife.

Here is the OP's original post. He was soliciting advice and opinions:

"Hello all, I am a big fan of Tiffany for many years. My wife has many pieces from this brand. Engagement ring, wedding bands, celebration rings, yellow diamond soleste and more.

Being that I am a loyal client I am looking at some 1ct studs (2ct total weight) for her now for our 10th year wedding anniversary. So even though I love the brand I am having a hard time justifying in my head the price. What I am seeing is nothing better than J color but VVS2. Excellent cut, no fluorescence. But it's minimum $20k where places like blue nile are half that. not saying it's the same thing but they look to be pretty good for $10k.

So my question is does anyone have these in any weight and was it worth it to you as a woman to have these vs. something else?

Any input is appreciated!

Thank you."

Yes he did. He also mentioned that he and his wife have been Tiffany customers for all their high end jewelries already, but just used this forum to ask question. I am sure the responses he got, including advocating non-Tiffany brand post, only to speed his decision up to go for Tiffany, which in reality he did quickly make the purchase from T as indicated in page 2. That is how we did it, when we have certain Brand in mind, we do not waste time on other trivial things.

Honestly a few years ago, when I looked for information about E-ring I also went to Whiteflash, bluenile, or pricescope forum to see all the information and pics there, but it only resulted in me going for Tiffany, Cartier or VCA. Never spent time viewing these website again, except purseforum.

By the way, why people do not have have a general brand sub-forum besides T/C/V to discuss their jewelry interest, rather than two group of client back and forth stuck in Tiffany forum wasting time debating?

Yes I did ask a question. I got some good input here. Looked at some independents. Like I said I could get something for half but it’s not comparable. Just like my initial post. For more money I could get something as far as specs that were close but then the discrepancy wasn’t that great where it would sway me.

Many women gave their views and I appreciated it.

So you quoted my original post. Ok. Do I contradict myself?

No, I think Lisa-Sh obviously missed the point of your initial post, because she was was criticizing other posters for giving you their advice and opinions which is what you ASKED for. I think the previously respectful and pleasant conversation took a different tone with her remarks...

You decided to go with Tiffany’s, that’s great. That’s your choice. But you did your due diligence and looked other places. You got your wife gorgeous earrings. I’m happy for you both.

I have branded jewelry from Tiffany’s, as stated before, and I appreciate it. But, personally, I will always be happy that my husband got me an unbranded 2.85 carat colorless VS e-ring versus the 1.04 carat colorless VVS ring my friend got from Harry Winston for the same price. But that’s just me. I’m sure my friend still loves her ring (and it works great for her because she’s a physician) and I’m sure that her stone has appreciated some but I know for a fact that my stone has increased in value by 300%.

I love designer bags and diamonds—obviously that’s one of the reasons I’m on tpf—but I also appreciate good inherent value. It seems that you appreciate good value, too, but our approaches are just different.

Hello all. Gave her the earrings today and she was stunned. Took her to the Blue Box Cafe at the Tiffany’s 5th Avenue location for a surprise lunch and presented them to her.

They look huge on her but amazing. She was shaking when she opened the box. She is in love with them.

We usually stick to traditional gifts for our anniversary’s vs. modern. So I put these in a Louis Vuitton trunk has parts of aluminum in it to stay with the theme. Thanks for everyone’s input. IMG_1869.jpgIMG_1861.JPGIMG_1862.JPGIMG_1863.JPG
