1 Ct Diamond Studs Dilemma

May I suggest instead of studs, try the Victoria Medium size earrings.

I have 1ct each studs and rarely wear them as I see them everywhere, real and fake.

I think the Victoria line is more iconic and the earrings really pop.

If she wants studs, I say go for Tiffany. Nothing will compare once you own Tiffany diamonds. I am a big fan of Tiffany also. Love their pieces.

Oh.. and you may want to look at the Victoria alternating diamond eternity band. It’s a bunch of Xs and Os and would be so cool for a 10 anniversary gift along with the matching earrings. Together, they will be in the $20K+ range so that would be in your range.

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. I do like those but think 1ct or better studs is going to be the gift for our 10 year. I agree with your sentiments about Tiffany.

If she wants 1ct each studs, then go for it. For me, once you go with Tiffany, there is no substitute. And they have so many gorgeous pieces.

I am sure you know this being a Tiffany fan... but Tiffany now offers two types of earring mountings for their studs.. the regular basket and now a 3-prong martini. You may want to have her try both on. I am not a fan of the 3-prong as I think it makes the diamond look like a triangle. Also, as FYI.... I am looking to upgrade my earrings and if you don’t see the clarity and color you want, the SA can search. Just be a bit patient as sometimes stock is low. I am sure you know all this though but just in case.

And test it the backs too. For the life of me, I cannot do La Pousette backs and I don’t like the way they “freeze” in place. Tiffany can swap them out if your wife does not like them either.

Hope that helps. Congratulations on your 10th!

Thank you. Yes not a fan of the 3 either.

We have brought in 5 pairs already. Going through the different prices. I admit the pricing is outrageous as you go up.

She isn’t aware of these as it’s a surprise. I made her try on some 1cts before and she really liked them but she just isn’t good with the price. She is so conservative and I have pretty much made her a Tiffany fan. She deserves the best and IMO nothing beats Tiffany. Also I feel like if it’s not 1ct then I’m not getting her studs at all.

These are her two “major” Tiffany pieces. The rest are keys, rings, bracelets, etc but these I feel will compliment the 1ct studs nicely. Legacy engagement with matching bands and a soleste fancy vivid.

Good to know about the backs, my SA will take care of me I’m sure.

Gorgeous pieces! You did great!
And I agree... go 1ct each or forget it... you will always wish they hit that 1ct mark.

The fancy vivid is beautiful!

This is an interesting review of the quality of Tiffany diamonds:

https://www.prosumerdiamonds.com/tiffany-review/

That is interesting but the legacy is proprietary as well and he doesn’t know that.

That review is on 1 particular diamond. To say Tiffany’s cut is not good from 1 diamond isn’t a good anaylisis at all. In any research field you wouldn’t take 1 example.

The cut on all my wife’s diamonds are triple excellent and her pieces have immense fire in all lighting conditions.

Her collection is beautiful! May I ask the size of the yellow diamond? I love the Soleste Collection.

I get your point but wanted to put this out there for people who assume they are automatically getting the best diamonds from Tiffany (sentiment expressed in this thread). Triple Ex is very nice, but Tiffany doesn't have a grading standard beyond that, the way super ideal diamonds do. So some Triple Ex's may be super ideal but not all Triple Ex's meet the additional criteria. So when you buy Tiffany you are not *guaranteed* to get the very best. I'm sure they will still source beautiful sparkly diamonds for you. They're obviously not selling junk.

It’s the buyers responsibility to check all the specs for sure. I wouldn’t say everything Tiffany sells is the best but IMO better than most.

For me it’s the love of the brand and peace of mind. Yes millions of options are out there that may be better but for me Tiffany holds the number 1 spot.

I don’t think anyone on this thread has eluded that when you buy Tiffany you get the best. I said for me it’s the best.

I have seen my fair share of diamonds from 47th street to brick and mortar shops. Some are nice but I would say Tiffany gives me the most confidence. There will always be Tiffany to stand behind the products I buy. For others that may not always be the case.

It sounds like you have a nice history with them and I'm sure your wife will love the earrings.
