1 Ct Diamond Studs Dilemma

It is not the type of jewelry that defines what color you should get. It is the cut of the diamond. Super ideal round brilliant diamonds reflect back so much light that going down to a I/J/K is quite sufficient even for rings. There's a lot of misinformation out there about color. There are some other threads in the jewelry box where this is discussed.
It is all based on individual's preference. People can argue FOREVER in millions of thread about buying Tiffany E-ring or no brand E-ring with good diamond, as well as buying top color diamond ring no less than H color, or buying I/J/K. That is no brain to further discuss that, because each group has its own rationale. Everyone is different, For me, E-ring has to be Tiffany, and if I need other jewelry from Tiffany will only buy Tiffany high jewelry...etc. It is my own preference only.

In pricescope.com, there have lots of ladies buying big diamond ring with color I, K, or even lower but that is their prefence. I don't usually bother browsing that website as it is not the territory of my interest.

No...the metal doesn't bend, just the way studs can sit on the ear. Could be the setting or could be the way the ear was pierced...if that makes sense. Your wife probably won't need the backs but just in case, you know. She'll think you're a genius!

Ok got it.

These are the “newer” style Tiffany studs. They still have the older screw in backs in store as well. I noticed it was always a D E or F with big stones.

They just don’t sell as easily as the “lower” colors because of the price jump.

These have 2 notches. You can look at it as either a safety feature or a feature for size adjustment.

I'm actually not talking about brand versus no brand here. I'm talking about scientifically observable visual difference (or lack thereof) in super ideal diamonds of a lower color versus less well cut diamonds in a higher color, because the cut reflects out so much light that it makes the diamond appear whiter. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own preference. For people who don't have a specific leaning towards a higher color necessarily, it's best to give them the observable facts to make a decision. A lot of people who wouldn't necessarily care about the color listed on the certificate end up spending more than they need to due to misinformation.

In this sub-forum, there had already tons of thread talking about the topic. I know you are not talking about Brand, as the thread starter clearly only goes for Tiffany for diamond earring studs. I am sure people that go for lower color diamond would find help from the historical threads in Tiffany sub-forum as tons of information laying out there. People go for higher color diamond do not come across with people buying lower color diamond as each of group can write pages long rationale and reasons just like our last few post, which is un-necessary. No need to further discuss about the color of diamond, OP had got his mission accomplished.

I agree cut is very important and a lower colored stone can still be beautiful. But some people feel color is very important. I would certainly not take a very white stone that wasn't sparkly due to poor cut or inclusions.

Congrats on these gorgeous earrings for your wife!

I have these type of earring backs from Tiffany. They are the best. I find them easy to get on/off, and they hold my diamond studs fine...no drooping. But then again, my earrings are "only" 0.79 ctw. lol

Yes every kind of customer has their priority in their mind, and also when you chose Tiffany for their middle to high end diamond product, you will never worry about its service afterwards as Tiffany's service is AMAZING :amuse::amuse::amuse:. I feel like they always accommodate customers as much as they can.

well they should provide good CS since you're probably paying twice what you would with another reputable jeweler

I own a lot of diamond pieces, earrings, rings, bracelets etc... I am a BIG bling lover.

In my opinion, no one will be able to tell where the diamond studs are from and I think it would be better to buy a better color, clarity and fluorescence diamond rather then go for a "brand". Just make sure you buy with a GIA certification. They are the gold standard of certifications. It will cost maybe $400 for the certification but for the dollar amount you are contemplating spending I think it's well worth the piece of mind. Don't go for just the dealers certification as it means nothing. I can certify a diamond for you and give you a certificate but it's just a piece of paper. Good luck and maybe share the pics before you give it to her?

By the way, what a nice husband you are!:tup:

Hmmm....I bought Cartier LOVE bangle, Cartier ring...as well, but I don't feel the service from Cartier is as good as Tiffany.
I personally wouldn't buy that either. I know a lot of people here love those big name items in jewelry and I do have a Rolex watch. (I guess I justified that by the fact that's it's mechanical, not quarts and a quality time piece) But for gold or silver jewelry I don't think it's worth it for what you get from a Cartier or Tiffany. Same with David Yurman. I have some beautiful native american jewelry that was hand made by an artisan and costs less. But I know a lot of people here love their brand name jewelry and to each her own.

I was never going for these because I care if anyone can identify these are Tiffany. I think some people have misunderstood this thread. Thanks [emoji3]

I see. As already mentioned a few post above, that is all based on everyone's personal preference, zillions of people can reply on this post to against buying Tiffany Brand and post ocean of reason why.,,,.which is pointless. Isn't this sub-forum being Tiffany forum, so we come here talking about Tiffany related purchase.

Not to say this forum we all talk about experience buying designer bags (high-end especially), designer jewelries and share information and feedback.

Nah don’t think so. Could have got 1cts for half but not comparable.
I think it is really DUMB for people coming to your thread to advocate buying non-brand jewelry is better, which you already purchased Tiffany diamond studs for your wife.

Not to say people will never understand why we threw hundreds of thousand dollars buying only a few Hermes bags. The mentality and sense of worth, are not in same page.
