Beauxgoris,
Were you going to put anything on your Lilac? I put LMB for Handles only on the handles but I would consider something since I am afraid of it fading etc.

It looks like in your really great comparison shots, the 06 leather looks much more shining. Is that right? Also the 06 leather seemed to be with more veins. The leather on the 09 isn't too matt finish or too shiny. What do you think? I am happy also that it isn't too thick or too thin but just right.

Have you used your MU bag much and did you put anything on it to protect it from dirt, oils from hands etc? I might also put LMB For Handles Only on the very corners around the edges just to protect them. What do you think since your lilac MU bag looks in great shape still.

(The one part of my DH having to take his meds intravenouses is that I get his undevoted attention twice a day for an hour and a half......He is stuck in one place!!:D

^^What does the LMB for handles do as a pretreatment? Keep the handles from getting dark? Does it lighten them at all? I've never used that protect so I don't know much about it.

I was wondering more about the "rain and stain" from Apple Guard. After the horror story of another member getting water marks on her pistachio i'm wondering if it would be a good idea?

You are right the 06 lilac is a thinner and more veiny leather, it also has more shine. The 09 is between matte and shiny. I still have yet to use her!

Wow, MichK, Thank you! You are so sweet! I always think the same with your pics, you are a stunning model in Bbags.:ghi5:

It is good to be back!! I have missed everyone but will still be half here and half not for a while until he is absolutely healed. At least we know what we are fighting now and that is half the battle. Thank God for our 20 year old son who has been such a blessing to help out. He lost his job around the same time my hubby got sick and it was a blessing actually.

Gosh, I can't believe how many great bags are out this season and have bought the ones that I was on the lists for so I need to get picks of those up to share with all.

This Lilac, was not one I was listed for obviously but it is my favorite bag now. It was such a fluk that I checked the forum that one day that gave me the heads up to call. I bought it from (Ricky-SA) from NM in San Diego. What a sweetie. He had a bag that was on hold and said that there were two more though in the warehouse. I received it 3 days later. Amazingggggg............:yahoo:

I owe it all to Marla523!!! I read her thread and just about passed out seeing her pics..... I really hope all who wants this color and style can get one. It is crummy that our friends in Europe can't get them there. That is depressing.

MichK, ( I love your latest pics in Pictures only!!) I wish I had a use for an envelope bag as it looks amazing on you and I love your sanguine GSH one!!

Hey, umimaddicted, I haven't been checking this thread and I missed your reply.

Thank you for your very sweet comments - awwwwww... :hugs:

And I do hope each passing day gets better for your DH and your family. And thank God for the little blessings that come our way :smile1:

Do take good care of yourself... and enjoy your beautiful new bags!

^^So umimaddicted - are you going to spray with a water protector too or not?

beauxgoris,
I just sprayed my Lilac City bag with Shining Monkey. I remembered that I had sprayed my 09 Black City with it after I bought it since I read others were having problems with the black leather turning green. I noticed that my black city is still fabulous, very very black and with perfect soft smooshy leather. I have carried it quite a bit. Well, after remembering that and seeing that it is wonderful still, I decided then to spray my 09 Lilac. I don't want it to fade and I was caught in the rain the other day with my new beloved lilac. I didn't want to get water spots! We will all see how SM does on it. I did a light coat and will do another later today. I think it will be fine. We will see though through the months to come. :graucho:

^^Thank you for the update. :flowers: Can you tell me why you like SM better than AG? I tried to place an order for SM and it never went through. I also remember Vlad posted a thread about a poster that was pretending to like SM, but was actually just trying to bump sales - so that scared me off for good. Is it really better?

I saw that thread that Vlad Closed. I think the person that was trying to bump sales was actually selling it or something like that. I don't know about that but I have used SM on all my LV's for over 4 years. It worked perfect for the vachetta leather. Here is a picture of my LV key chain that I have had for over 3 years. I use it every day and it hangs from my B bags or is in my pocket or in my bags. When I got this key chain I sprayed SM on it twice. The leather has a medium patina or light honey color and no dirt or stains. The Leather is soft and pliable and I rub this thing all the time. If SM didn't work well, it would be grossly dirty and show oils from my fingers and hands.

Here is a picture of my Black City bag that I sprayed last spring when I read that others had problems with their blacks turning green. I use this bag about once a week and it is black black still and the leather is fabulous still.

These pics were taken without flash and in the window sunshine. There is no bluing as it kind of looks. It is all black leather.

Here is my Lilac just a little after I sprayed it today. No change in color, smell or feel.

I don't use AG because it changed the color of my LV leather and it seemed to change the feel of the leather a little. I had an LV Bucket bag that was all Vachetta leather. I sprayed it with SM and I had used the bag quite a bit. It looked as lovely when I sold it as when it was new.

I don't advocate anyone else using it but I like it very much and haven't had any problems with it at all. I used it on my ivory day bag a couple years ago and it is still beautiful and I use it too in the summer and spring. It still looks great with no changing of color or yellowing on it at all. I can only say what I am seeing with it. I bought mine from the product web site and it takes a long time to receive it. I think each order took a few weeks to get it.
I know that Vlad is doing what is best for the forum and I agree with Vlad that the person shouldn't have promoted something she was actually selling. But I am just a user and like it. Time will tell with my Lilac for fading etc. But certainly, if I thought it would hurt my bag or not work, I wouldn't put it on my now most favorite Bal bag ever!! This is a good test for SM on colors that seem to fade in time. We will see with time. I am the test subject. :graucho:

umimaddicted - thank you for the report! Very interesting. Could you pm me and tell me where you purchased your SM from. I found an online retailer and tried twice to buy - but I never received it - so if you know of a good place to purchased I'd love to know!

:flowers:

Thank you!
