I never ever thought I would buy a bag in this color until I read this thread. I only wear dark color bag simply because I have the "light-color bag" issue. (too scared to stain the bag..)
But .. I just couldn't pass this 2009 lilac. I'm in agreement to some tpfer here, liking the clearness from this year lilac.
So that being said... I ordered something from Barneys NY and it shall be here next week!

Hi, it's kind of off topic, but I was wondering whether the 06 Lilac in classic HW has the serial number of 1669 on the back of the leather tag and a silver plate on the front? I just read in the reference thread that the silver plate is only for 05 F/W or something like that? Anyways, I was confused... Anyone owns an 06 Lilac that can tell me? TIA!!

Will do once my DC's battery is charged up!
The leather is quite similar to my 07 plomb work. No glossy shiny look and pretty soft too.
This might be my first light color bag that I will actually use. I'm thinking to give her a little pre-treatment.. I never ever condition any my bbag so I need to do some homework here! Looking the maintenance thread. Any piece of advise would be appreciated!

^^ I think you'll find that even tho this color could be considered "light", it doesn't dirty easily. And it feels like the 09 leathers are finished differently or something since they don't seem as porous as the older year's leathers.

When I got my Lilac City, I used it non-stop for at least a week and no signs of wear anywhere. None on the handle, corners, none. I am very impressed with the newer leathers in terms of durability and wear. They don't seem to wear at all - which is great!

If you still want, maybe a little pro-treatment on the handle would be good. I like LMB's protreatment better than the For Handles Only because it doesn't take away any shine.
