What are the trends for this fall ? will you wear them ?

New stuff I've already purchased:

- opera length gloves with ruching (black leather)
- black suede heeled oxfords (good grief I have worn ankle boots/booties for years and so was I horribly out of style until this season? LOL)
- tights
- black pencil skirt with wide belt
- GREY anything.
- longer length sweater vests (by theory, an alternate to the tunic trend below)

things I like but not sure they will work on me:
- trouser jeans
- swing jackets, short, very lady like but not sure on proportions for me
- clutches. Not sure about them for everyday...not very practical
- metallics/shine
- longer tunic sweaters (I am in good shape but have a booty and these just don't skim over my body like they're supposed to and they make my legs look even shorter).

What I still want:
- new patent leather bag
- more grey cashmere (will checkout Vince)

What I won't wear:
- high waisted jeans. Been there, done that!

I've purchased a cool trench from Banana Republic and some tall brown casual boots to wear with jeans or shirtdresses...I really hope fluorescents are not coming back, way scary...Flowy shirts are filling up my closet too. I am kind of trying to buy more classic pieces and staying away from the too "trendy" sort of things...

I have bought for this fall:

~Pencil skirts (in charcoal and black)
~Chocolate Brown Laundry by Shelli Seagal knee length trench
~3/4 Sleeve wool belted coat
~Basic Black Pumps
~Trouser Jeans
~Army lik Jacket in Dark Green
~Newsboy caps & gangster hats

What I still want
~Metallic Bags
~Red Patent Bag
~Boots
~Opera Golves(wheres a good place to buy these?)
~Vests
~Knee Socks

What I have bought:
brown pencil skirt
tan trench coat
brown leather jacket
silk patterned button downs
Camel B Bag
Black patent peep toe pumps

What I still want:
Silk tops for work
Sweaters - merino or cashmere that will layer with silk button downs
Knee Boots - haven't been able to find ones I liked for several years
Closed toe pumps for work - too many peep toes
Tweed/Houndstooth pants or skirts
Wide leg pants
Maybe a red or purple bag
Newsboy hat

What I won't buy/wear:
Booties with skirts
Anything is volume on top (top heavy)
High waisted pants
Skinny pants/jeans
3/4 length sleeved outerwear - cute but not practical
Leggings
Anything too 80s.

Buying two wraps, flat boots, booties, more denim but the style that works for my body type, a really pretty Elijah top in cream for the lady like look and possible more gray pieces of which I have a ton. Too old to do the 80's I did it the first time.

I'm planning to go shopping soon, and I will be looking out for an over-the-top coat (I try to buy one every year), studded anything, Roberto Cavalli belts with large hardware, shift dresses, and lots of gray. I will try to refrain from buying shoes, but they are so easy to buy!

In general, I think the trend is more "ladylike" and tailored to the body. I will definitely be wearing pieces along that general trend.

. although I still like some of the less extreme volume pieces. I also like the long wool sweater dresses with huge cowl neck. been looking for that. but trousers have to be ladylike IMO and got a pair of ankle booties. i am a neutral colour girl and grey is so my colour for this winter.

I'm looking for long gloves, too! I saw some on nordstrom.com actually-- in leather. Very reasonably priced $148. There are also lots of gloves on lacrasia.com.

All of these are from NM... I just search under glove

-- wide leg jeans, (wide from top to bottom)
-- high waist
-- skinny jeans
-- flats
-- leggings, more colours
-- matallics
-- bangles
-- vests
-- LONG shirts with tights (tunics)

I'd also sum it up as ladylike, not girly or Über sexy. The woman in the fashion shows seemed to be strong and almost angry. It's like ladylike, but with a hard edge
