My classic caviar STRAP Broke!!!

Just spoke with Alexia the customer service at Rue Cambon. At first she didn't sound too friendly when I suggested that I'll have it repaired in HK since my friend is going there and it is closer to my country. she explained that she is not sure how long HK boutique can repair it. and she prefers that I send the bag all the way to Paris...

Good thing I remembered that one of my officemate in Citibank will be going to PAris this April 19. I even asked her how come the strap breaks easily, because it happened to my friend's classic black jumbo just recently also..... she did not offer any explanation to that.

Will update you guys!

that always happens. i had it happen to my jumbo caviar which i was allowed to exchange for another one. and then it happened to my med/large caviar. unffortunately, the s.a. told me they didnt have any more med/large priced at the old price that i paid for. so if i wanted to exchange that one, i would have to pay the difference of the old and new price. which i thought was ridiculous. afterall, it is the same bag. so i ended up refunding the bag. i hope your sa's are more understanding.

This stinks :cursing: Are we going to have to start worrying about the quality of Chanel? It's sad to see such a venerable old design house turning out Wal-Mart quality items.

The same thing just happened to the strap on my med ivory caviar flap!!

I bought it from Neimans just about a year ago and I don't use it that often. I'm going to bring it in to see if they can repair it.

oh no....this makes me mad on your behalf, i hope they resolve this problem by giving you a brand new bag. They should not do anything else. Although I am a Chanel girl at heart, I have decided not to buy any more until there is a long stretch of no complaints. Lately its been waaaaaay waaaaay too many...and even one of my SAs at Saks who is a MuiMui/Balenciaga/YSL specialist has said he is hearing quality issues about Chanel. Upsetting and disheartening.
and another price increase on the way........what chutzpah (means "nerviness" in Yiddish :P )

how horrible! chanel is definitely not on top of their game right now. they spend so long thinking how much they're going to raise prices that they neglect the quality of their bags.

hope everything works out for you and that chanel fixes your bag or gives you a new one.

yaks!!!! this is sucks!!! considering we are spending too much for theri bag, and yet their quality is getting poorer... maybe we should form a group or a make petition regarding the quality of their bag????

You know, this happened recently to my black caviar medium flap. I am going to just take it to a place that fixes leather goods since I bought this (new) from personalshoppers on Ebay. This shouldn't happen to an expensive bag but I've been hearing about this more and more. The integrity of the chain isn't compromised but the look of the leather unravelling is not pretty. Think I will hold off on purchasing any more Chanel for awhile--their image has become tarnished for me.

That stinks. That happened to me with one of my caviar classics but I took it to Modern Leather Goods which is a high end leather repair place in NYC and they sewed it on the spot for me for $20. I had to wait 5 minutes only instead of MONTHS if I took it to Chanel.
