You know what I don't like about the China Coach bags? The leather is fine for the most part, except the black. I absolutely hate the look and feel of the black leather now. It used to be heavy and thick. Now it's shiny, and it just looks cheap.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the outlet by me - I've gotten a few bags from there. I just avoid black now.

Ah! I totally feel you, the new Legacy leather is gorgeous in black now! I used to only buy brown leather up until my Ali bag, it's lovely.

As long as it is a quality product and I feel that I am getting my moneys worth, I could care less where it was made. This goes for anything, not just Coach products.

BTW, not everything Coach produces is made in China. I know of a few new items that will be released on Monday that are made in Italy.

hmm..which ones? so far i've seen only the gloves with signature stripe on the hem of it. lol. i'm hoping the silk scarves would be made in japan again..although china is known for their silk too :wlae:

I really am very turned off by major handbag companies manufacturing in China. For me my own personal opinion is why did they move the factories there?? One reason..money..more and more money..I do not mind spending money on a nice bag. I am a huge shopper..but to me I am not going to have to find an item that is either made in the USA or Italy. I love Juicy Couture and they always said"made in the glamourous USA...well now they say made in China..maybe they should change it to made in glamourous China(excuse my spelling)
To me, I am sad that America is where we are. I would rather buy a bag I know someone made in the US..yes, I would buy from Italy..but I am partial since i have been..it's too pretty to exclude them...
And most of the handbags companies are made in a plant that they will make a $2000 bag next to a $40 bag...
I don't think the quality of the bags has changed..I don't like some of the styles since the new designers...but I just think it is ridiculous when I get emails for their new bags and they have bags on their site for $4800...yes..Coach for over $4k...I remember the good ole days when the piping got worn on your Coach bag and you took it in and they sent it in and replaced the piping for you...THAT is the Coach I want to do business with. And it just isn't Coach...many other companies are doing the same thing..even Vuitton..so what's a girl to do?? I just have such a different view..

Can't wait to find a great bag to fall in love with...I look at my Couture and Coach bags and feel sick to my stomach...I am getting rid of them slowly..down to under a dozen...Anyone know I bag I will fall in love with let me know...I do love pink...so that would be a factor! I never post on sites so please don't go off on me if you don't like what I write..I am not out to offend anyone..:wlae:

Ideally, I wish Coach was made in America. Isn't Coach an American company? What about Made In America pride? I am glad Coach has outlets, otherwise I would never be able to afford them. I would just go without or wait for a used one on ebay. That being said, if made in China helps me to to afford Coach then I'd better shut up and be happy!! Bottom line, I won't complain.

I had a soho black coach bag that felt like thin leather so I know what you mean but my legacy and ergo black leather bags feel nice & thick! Depends on the line I guess.

well my opinion which is not very well formed at this point is this: We have outsourced most of our customer service to India for some reason, I guess it is cheap soooooo, manufacturing in China is cheap so many companies are doing their manufacturing in China. Maybe this is because american people in the United States just don't want to do these jobs anymore, I have no clue. I also think that "Made in China" doesn't really mean very cheap anymore. I talk to European people who really don't regard Coach as a quality brand in Europe. I think Coach is mainly a USA and Japanese/Asian prefered brand. It is affordable luxury that is getting toward the more expensive end but still quality and serves a purpose in the market. I am loyal to this brand because I think the quality is still good and the customer service is still relatively good and their stuff is cute. I don't really care that much that it is made in China I guess.

I read an article that Coach leather was made in America and the signature was made in other countries. However, everything is assembled in China that is why it states that it is made in China. I dont disagree because if we stopped purchasing everything from China you would not be typing on the computer your using right now. They could sell it to us cheaper but why when were buying it at this price now.

I still think their products are great, but it bothers me that so many places are outsourcing to China. Why can't things be made in America anymore? It's not that the people making them in China aren't capable, but why are people in the US not? Coach is a huge company, they can afford to have their products say Made in the USA.

Its simply one of those situations where some people just have to have something to complain about. Those of us who do purchase and use Coach on a regular basis know its quality is wonderful. Others opinions on Coach quality really mean nothing to me.

Anyone who wants to argue the issue of outsourcing jobs to other countries needs to study business tax issues in the U.S. Lots of people these days are quick to demonize "big business", but have any of us gotten a job from a poor person? Hmm. I did not join this forum to argue political issues, although that is my college minor. I simply have acquired a love of Coach from my Mom (Coach love passed on through genetics? LOL), and will love their products as long as the quality and customer service continue to be excellent.

And pinkcouture4u, China has some absolutely beautiful terrain, as does Italy, though they are a Communist country. I will not look to Prada simply because I think their country is more beautiful, or whatever. JMHO.

It's political . . . It's not a question of quality. Every AMERICAN CORPORATION has it's own standards for their products that are produced in China and other countries. I do not appreciate U.S. jobs being lost anywhere oversea's . . .

I recently invested in a beautiful Coach bag. Last weekend in fact. I'm very picky about purses so this was a big deal. I saw the new Sabrina bag online in a soft metallic shade and I had to have it. I used to have a bag from H&M (YES! H&M!) that was in the exact same color. It was $25 but it was the most beautiful bag I had seen in a long time. I couldn't believe I got my hands on it for only $25!!! I have never received so many compliments on a handbag!! However, of course since it was so cheap it fell apart pretty quickly.

I wanted to get a similar bag with some power of longevity so I turned to Coach. I have a few Coach bags and they hold up pretty well but they don't excite me in terms of their designs. I get a sick feeling when I see teeny-boppers carrying around a car payment on their arms when they're not even old enough to drive let alone have a job! Aaaaanyway. So I bought this Coach bag because it was so beautiful and classic. I took the bag home and I decided to read the labels on the inside of the bag and to my dismay, it was made in China! I couldn't believe it and I have a bad taste in my mouth because of it.

I'm not saying that I'm going to boycott Chinese made products, I know how hard they work in factories and like Christian Sartiano would say, "Asians are fierce." However, if any of you have seen the new Wal-Mart documentary, "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price," http://www.walmartmovie.com/ you can't help but feel like this absolutely cheapens the quality of the brand and its products. Not to mention the conditions the Chinese work in are barely humane.

I am not going to return my Coach bag however I think this will be my last. I hope that if Coach is charging so much for their products, that the Chinese workers are living a somewhat normal life. If Wal-Mart can sell products so cheap and keep them working, I'm assuming the hefty pricetags Coach distributes aren't just a ridiculous price mark-up.

I dont care that its made in China, but I think the prices are outrageous. If they moved to China to make manufacturing cheaper, we should see some of the savings too. Instead we are paying outrageous retail prices and Coach is making a mint on us. That part irks me. Lets face it, it doesn't take $500 to make these bags...

My sister just can't get past the made in China thing. She has made the move to LV. I'm going to stick it out with Coach for awhile longer......I'm pretty loyal that way and my sis only started using Coach a few years ago...
